It was as if time had frozen for Chanda, as Velkan laid on her, staring at her with his eyes widened in shock. 'Knock. Knock.'The banging sound on the door made Chanda jolt from her sleep, frantically looking around the room as her mind had completely forgotten where she was.“Are you sleeping already? Serafina!” Mariam was yelling and banging on the other side of the door.“Of course. I’m in my new room.” She had unknowingly fallen asleep. “I am coming.” She murmured when the banging persisted ad dragged herself off the bed to open the door. “Sorry, I was just getting up.”“So, you were sleeping.” Mariam stepped in, carrying a basket filled with bath soaps, candles and little fragrant bottles. “Awn!” Chanda sighed. “You didn’t have to. I already have my bath soap, but thank you.” She stretched out her hands to hug Mariam but she dodged her.“Don’t be silly.” Mariam placed the basket on the dresser. “This is for the Lycan not you. I picked out the specific soaps he uses, so you can go to his chambers and prepare his night bath.”That sentence drove every bit drowsiness from Chanda’s eyes.“

Chanda gasped. “The Oro blade really exists?”The Oro blade was the sword used by the Klana leader. “He wants you to become a maid?” Mariam almost screamed at Chanda when she told her of Velkan’s punishment. “Are you sure you heard him correctly?”“I’m not deaf, Mariam.” Chanda playfully threw a garment at her face and continued packing up her things. “But I do think it is strange.”“Of course, it is strange. There are a lot of maids in the pack, why would he want you as his personal maid?”“Maybe he wants to keep a close eye on me or maybe he just wants to humiliate me, I don’t know.” Chanda shrugged. Velkan’s decision was definitely unexpected, especially after Snow claimed he had earlier decided to not punish her at all. Heavens, stop repeating yourself. It is annoying to listen to.” Snow frowned. “And why are you so shocked when you already planned to do it yourself?
