My first time since I left for the private meeting at Gumani Hotels this morning, since my interesting discovery at Seraph wing... since I left her.And with every step, came the buzz. The music in the air, expensive perfumes, laughter, moans, drinks, lustful rich folks and over all... money.Cash! There was cash in the air and in my building, you could practically smell it! Cash plus enough bodies to go round, that was Oxygen. This was Oxygen. My lifeline. But there was one more thing to make tonight simply exceptional and totally worth the relaxation! Her."So," I started, stepping into my office. Jordan behind, shutting the door. "How was it?" I asked, facing him. Taking off my jacket, pouring myself a drink. Smile on my face. "Was she excited when she saw it? She was, right? I bet she was surprised and asked you twice who it was sent from.""Boss,""Tell me,
ALINA'S POV He didn't know when to stop, did he??I hadn't even finished processing his outright misbehaviour earlier today and yet he does this? Assemble all of these in my office? Write this...this damned note?!Who brought all of these in here? Him? I doubt that, meaning someone else did on his behalf. Someone got all of these set-up, delivered and then added the note. Right here. And how many people saw that said person do all of these in my office?? Saw that said person follow the 'boss's instructions, especially after his stunt this morning!"Just what is he thinking?" I snapped, throwing the note to the floor. My emotions more pissed off than disbelief. "Is he really going to act dumb here? Really do this, play this stupid games?? All for what exactly?" I looked at the flowers again, the change of clothes and heavily packed lunch, my stomach growling loudly almost immediately. Making me close my eyes, wincing in shame, "Damned betrayer," I cussed under my breath, "You're not
ALINA'S POV Heading home last night after Oxygen was nothing in the least bit unexpected. Everything was the usual. I got to enjoy a free night ride as consultant, arrived home in one piece, took off my scandalous outfit, jumped into the shower and pretty much went to bed after that.Smooth right? But what I didn't expect, was waking up. Waking up to everywhere all bright and sunny. And then the pounding. The extremely loud and solid pounding right at the back of my head, my eyes and even behind my throat."The hell?" I clutched my head as I groggily stirred awake. Dizziness striking almost immediately i tried to open my eyes. In fact, the dizziness was on a whole different level from the pounding. Your eyes are shut but you feel dizzy. You've ever felt that before? That's what I felt.Every part of me felt like it was being pulled apart and yet joined back at the same time. Everything slamming right into me, ringing in my ears. My jaw too stiff to even get a word out. Honestly, I
ROMAN'S POV "Thank you for the offer, sir. But I don't want breakfast. I've had breakfast." She finally said, sitting up. "Are you sure?" I stopped her from rising. "It'll be here soon, I assure you. They're pretty-"No thank you," she cut me off abruptly, pulling away. Ass leaving her seat. "I'll get to work now, sir. My apologies for showing up late."I didn't even get a word out before she sprinted off. Going to join the dust and debris in front, the workers pausing to greet her. Notepad appearing out of nowhere to her hands, inspection and assessment beginning. The part they'd been working on before her arrival.I watched it all for a bit, smirking when I caught her looking backwards at my table at some point. Her features still confused and narrowed. Most definitely wondering what was going on and I liked that.Let her wonder about me.Let her worry about my moves, become aware of my presence. It was how I got her back then, wasn't it?I'd hovered around her constantly for mont
ROMAN'S POV A person never really changes, take it or leave it. If you think I'm wrong, then you'll learn the hard way.Take this annoying character for example. Alina. She'd been trying so hard to be different lately.Trying so hard to change, act different, take on a new behaviour different from who she actually is. She wanted to pretend she was all good and buff, but guess what? Her old self still remains. Her old cunning, deceiving, defensive, cowardly yet explosive self still remained the same! Vibrant and unimpressingly so.She tried to be just calm. Be that soft, feminine woman, elegantly going about her business, but her true self just won't budge. Her lips would be speaking peace, but her eyes would be spitting fire all at the same time! Leaving her so frustrated and ready to bite my head off. Especially tonight. It was quite the amusement to be honest. Her behaviour so far has been very amusing and laughable. But there was nothing amusing about those words she said."Fallin
ALINA'S POV He grinned. Eyes twirling with playful mischievousness, totally contrasting his overall male aura. And well...job.I didn't see it before, but Mark was a real chatterbox underneath everything. While he smiled happily, I was sitting in utter confusion and displeasure for literally everything at this point. "How do you know how many drinks I've had?" I asked, "This is the official staff bar, Angel. We keep tabs on everyone here, all of which made possible by the collar you're wearing. Your movements, emotions, blood and pressure level is all recorded in real time by that tiny Insignia. So every time you drank, it caught the sizzling of the drink and counted as a glass. Adding up on the pad over there."My mouth fell open. Eyes fixed on the said pad, just right beside the control board thingy. And there it stood;Alina - 19"Oh God," I moaned silently, "I'm going to be sick. You're telling me every time that I've been mad today, this stupid collar thing has been recording
