HAZEL

Cecily didn’t notice the shift in my mood. Her fingers just kept fluttering over her phone screen, eyes alight with gossip she hadn’t even said aloud yet.

Usually, she was very observant, but maybe she was so distracted because she was talking to her actual beau; her husband’s son who doubles as the father of her child.

I wasn’t about to judge her for any of it though, especially not while I was being stung with jealousy because one of the Rossi brothers that I’ve been fucking for weeks was on a date.

I couldn’t stop staring at their end of the restaurant where Cyrus sat across from that she-wolf—the slender, princess pretty, and flawless Althea who had power, brilliance and beauty practically oozing from her pores.

“Ugh, he’s almost home,” Cecily muttered suddenly, stuffing her phone into her purse, looking like her entire mood had been ruined.

That told me exactly who she was referring to, but I asked anyway.

“Your husband?”

She nodded tightly, like she’d rather be anywhere

HAZELThey didn’t pounce on me the way I expected. After the blowjobs, I thought they’d push me down and take what they wanted like they usually did when their raw desire morphed into dominance. But surprisingly, they didn’t.Like a perfect gentleman, Zephyr refilled my champagne glass again, like I hadn’t just had each of them in my mouth one by one.On the other end of the room, Cyrus picked up a stray balloon and gave it a lazy kick toward the ceiling. Meanwhile, Xander just flopped onto the bed, still half-naked and smiling like he’d just had a divine experience. And somehow, all of that restraint made me want them more. So much fucking more. Feeling emboldened by the liquor, I stood up and walked to the center of the room, then slowly let my blouse fall to the floor. As soon as my breasts were bare, their attention snapped back to me instantly.“I thought I was supposed to be ruined,” I said quietly, smiling as I tugged my skirt down, leaving myself in just my underwear and heel

HAZELI couldn’t stop grinning victoriously.Even as my father slammed his fist against the conference table, red in the face and yelling something about rigged votes and manipulated minds, I remained perfectly composed while feeling a little dazed, and giddy underneath. It felt utterly surreal that I’d won. Against all odds and betrayal, I had actually won.A soft ringing filled my ears as I gushed inwardly, watching the board members quietly file out, some seeming pissed and others seeming oddly satisfied.Meanwhile my father had gone pale, then red, then terrifyingly silent.I had never seen him so furious. Or so helpless. But I didn’t feel a shred of pity for him after everything he’d put me through. Zane stood a few feet behind him, silent too.His eyes met mine for the briefest moment and I managed to get a whiff of the guilt written all over his face. He looked like he wanted to say something to me, but he didn’t move nor did his lips. Instead, he remained behind our father,

HAZEL“I need you to be sharper than ever today, Williams,” I said as I slid into the passenger seat. “We’re not leaving anything to chance.”“Not a damn thing. We steer the wheels of fate today, in my favor of course,” I shut the door, dragging in a deep breath. My manager gave me a short nod and a reassuring smile, tapping his tablet as the driver pulled away from the curb. “And it will, I’ve prepared a schedule that’ll make sure of it.”“Brief me then,” I urged him. “We’ve confirmed six meetings today, another four tomorrow. These next three days are crucial. If we get even 70% of those we’ve spoken to, you’ll win,” William recited almost robotically. “If,” I muttered, staring out the window. At that moment, I was reminded that there were two sides to this endeavor. That despite how detailed my plan was and how determined I was, there was still a possibility that things could go absolutely wrong. Despite that damning realization, I knew that I’d come too far to back out. That

HAZELI stepped out of the boardroom feeling like I’d just held my breath for forty-five minutes straight as adrenaline still pulsed behind in my veins, raw and whole. I wasn’t even two steps down the hallway before I ran into him.My father. He looked tired—but furious. Like he’d heard just enough to come storming in, but he knew that he was far too late to stop it. I was pleased to see him shaken, especially knowing that I was the cause of it. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” he snapped, grabbing my arm and pulling me to a stop.“Let go of me,” I gritted out, irritated by his audacity. He practically growled the words at me. “You want to embarrass yourself? Fine, I couldn’t care less. But don’t you dare drag the company down with you.”Angered by his ridiculous words, I pulled free from his harsh grasp.“I’m trying to save the company. From you. If anyone has been embarrassing the company it’s you, and I’m only cleaning up your mess,” I snapped at him. “You’re such a t

  • CLAIMED BY HER TRIPLET ALPHAS   34: The Beginning of the rest of my life

HAZELToday was the beginning of the rest of my life. A new life. A better life. The life I deserve…. And I needed everything to go perfectly. “You can still back out of this. But if you’d like to go ahead, I’ve got your back,” Zane had said to me earlier today when I finally won him over. Of course, I made it crystal clear that I wasn’t backing down, and soon, I would have everything I’ve ever wanted in the palm of my hands because I never… ever lose. “Your meeting with the shareholders starts in five minutes, Miss Cauthon,” Samantha, my assistant announced, tearing me away from my thoughts. “Right, thank you.”As soon as she smiled politely and left, I made my way out of the office, and towards the meeting venue. The boardroom was already half full when I walked in.I looked around, taking everything in when I came to the daunting realization that it was a testosterone fest in here. Gold watches. Suits. Cufflinks. Gold teeth. Wrinkled eyes.To top it off, there wasn’t a single

  • CLAIMED BY HER TRIPLET ALPHAS   33: Burning an Empire Down

HazelEven though I was supposed to, I didn’t go home. Not to the house where my father pretended to love me like a possession. Not to the cage where the man who should cherish me treated me like nothing but a bargaining chip. No, I was way too angry and disgusted to face him so I told the police to take me to a hotel instead, and they didn’t question it.Once I’d checked into my usual room at “The Monatague” hotel, I sank into the bed and allowed relief wash through me until I fell asleep. When I woke up, my head and heart felt lighter, so I decided to do some critical thinking. I sat at the edge of the bed and wondered how to free myself from the bounds of my father and Alpha for good. I might’ve gotten away from being his prisoner, but I wasn’t really free as long as I was engaged to him. Alpha was gone—for now. But my father was still out there. And as long as he was hell bent on literally selling me to Alpha as a wife, I would never really be free.Upon realizing that, somethi
