ELARA'S POV

I left my closet, slightly adjusting the strap of my night gown.

The moonlight filtered through the tall windows of my chamber, casting pale silver streaks across the room.

It wasn't a full moon but it still shone brightly, lightening up the dark night.

Unlike Mia and most werewolves, I rarely watch the moon or star gaze. I preferred to watch the sunrise.

I watch the sunset sometimes because it's a beautiful sight. The way the clouds were painted with soft orange, pink and peach, blending seamlessly and transitioning from warm to cool tones leaves me in awe. It makes me admire nature more.

Sunset is easily the most beautiful part of a day, but I cherish the sunrise more. Because sunrise brings hope, because it signifies the starting of something new, something unpredictable.

I decided to gaze at the stars today even if I had no idea of what I'm expected to see. I wasn't feeling sleepy yet and the night was quiet and calm.

I went to my balcony, the cold night breeze engulf

ELARAI don't know why but my first instinct was to deny his claims and I went with it. “No, I can definitely sleep!”“Then why are you still awake?”“Because I willingly chose not to sleep.” I said in my most convincing tone.He shook his head slowly, obviously not buying my lies. “Whatever floats your boat Elara.”He stepped closer, and every instinct I had screamed back away. Yet another deeper part of me was thrilled at the proximity.‎‎“You shouldn’t be here,” I said, trying to inject authority into my voice. It sounded small. Pathetic, even.‎‎He smirked, and it wasn’t a playful smirk. It was one that promised danger, desire and a little bit of madness all at once. “And yet, here I am.”My words seem to have no effect so I switched to threats. “I will scream if you come any closer.” Yeah, scream in pleasure.“Then go ahead.” Dravon came closer, sitting right beside me on my bed. It seemed harmless but things were always complicated between Dravon and I.I could feel the tens

ELARA’S POVI did that and suddenly I could feel the heat from his body. I focused on those deep blue eyes I loved so much and the world around us seemed to fade. All that mattered was him.I knew my heart wouldn't be able to be still tonight immediately I spotted him wearing his tailored black tuxedo. He looked so effortlessly hot that I had to make sure I wasn't drooling. He was causing trouble for my heart and stomach by looking this good.Handsome guys do bring a handsome load of trouble.“There's no silence heavier than the silence bearing unspoken thoughts.” Dravon said, bringing my attention back to him. “A penny for your thoughts?”A lifted my brows delicately. “A penny? My thoughts are worth more than that.”“Name your price.” He casually said.“My thoughts are priceless, it's for me alone.”He gave me a smirk as I moved away from him, spinning back into his arms.He dipped me and brought me back to his arms with such intensity and force that made our body collide. My pulse q

I stood near the edge of the dance floor, hands clasped, heart hammering not from excitement but from nerves.I had come to the dinner party alone and was planning on avoiding Dravon throughout the event. Why?Firstly, I didn't have an answer for him yet. I still haven't made up my mind on whether to accept his marriage proposal or turn it down. While his idea was nice, I still had doubts planted by Anita this afternoon.I lied when I said I wouldn't overthink what Anita said, I spent my entire training ruminating on her words and the cautious part of me wanted me to back down on the offer. The calculative side of me was already trying to search for a way to accept the offer without losing anything in the end. The idea of drawing out a contract was beginning to emanate. Then there's the optimistic side, edging me to trust Dravon and agree to the proposal. My entire emotions were a mess. The second reason for avoiding Dravon at this event was because Anita was still his fiancee. Des

ELARADid she also know that it was just for a year? That it was just a charade?“How do you know that?” I inquired, narrowing my eyes at her.“My source of information doesn't concern you. I'm just here to give you advice.” She said, her voice suddenly sweetened and smooth.“I don't need your advice Anita.” I shot back.“It’s Lady Anita, and yes you need my advice Elara.”If I had my way I would've left the Court room immediately we were done, but Elder Hana pleaded to everyone to stay back because she wanted to make an announcement.Dravon, Thorne and Elder Huncho were all in a serious conversation. I couldn't join them.I was stuck here with Anita, I decided to hear her out so she won't keep pestering me.“Fine, let me hear this great advice you want to give me.” I said sarcastically.“This is advice from a fellow she-wolf, not as Lady Anita, Dravon's fiancée.” I held myself from rolling my eyes.“Stay away from Dravon, not because I want him but for your own good. I know that Dra

ELARA'S POVI stared at myself in the mirror, straightening my dress even though there were no wrinkles on it.I was wearing a beige satin wrap dress with a wrap over design, which had an adjustable waist. It had a deep v neck, but not too deep to show my cleavages.I had curled my hair into deep waves, wearing a nude lipstick and a small hoop golden earring.I carried my black mini bag, moving back and looking in the mirror to see how it pairs with the outfit.“This was appropriate for a court meeting.” I said to myself, satisfied with the way I looked. When I came back to my room last night, I received a note from Dravon inviting me to today's court meeting. It was odd, since he wanted me to stay away from Lord Veyra and there's a 99.9% probability Lord Veyra would be there.I'm guessing I won't be allowed to speak like last time. I paused at my shoe rack, debating on whether to put on a black pumps or heeled sandals. It seemed like I was doing too much just for a court meeting but
