Zora had no idea how long she had been staring at the ceiling before exhaustion finally pulled her under.

Her entire body ached from the wedding celebrations and the stress of being kidnapped, and despite trying to stay alert, sleep eventually claimed her.

She was engrossed in a dream of Trent next to her when the sound of the door opening jerked her awake.

Zora's eyes forcefully opened, and with the fear that crept through her, she jerked up from the bed.

She sat up quickly, disoriented for a moment before the reality of where she was came crashing back.

Lord Kaelion stood in the doorway. He walked into the room with that same unsettling prideful manner, his footsteps barely making a sound.

Kaelion walked closer until he was standing right beside the bed. Before she could react, his hand reached out and gently caressed her face, his fingers trailing along her cheek.

She jerked away from his touch, scrambling to her feet and putting distance between them. "Don't touch me!" she yelled
