UNEXPECTED SITUATION.
Layla's POV.
"He will die, if the treatment doesn't commence soon." The doctor told me as sympathy flashed in his eyes, while I gulped down the saliva that gathered in my mouth, as I tried not to tremble.
"I know, doctor but I don't have what you are asking, can you please help, then I repay in installments?" I asked as I interlocked my hands in front of him, in a pleading manner.
The doctor looked as if he was taking a deep breath, before shaking his head sideways.
"I am so sorry, miss, but if you want your dad to be saved, then you have to make all necessary payments. That's the office protocol." The doctor told me as he placed a hand on my shoulder, before turning around to leave.
I stood there, my legs wobbling as I tried to breathe while his words sank into my brain.
My dad, the only one I had left, was going to die if I did not get the money meant for his surgeries, because of some hospital protocol?
So now, money is more important than life?
My heart tightened against my chest as my legs wobbled and I collapsed to the floor, wondering how the world could be so cruel, especially to my dad and I.
Ever since my mum abandoned us for a better future with some rich guy, dad had nearly lost his mind and always fell sick every damn time.
I had to quit college and began to do up to 3 jobs in a day so I could meet up with our bills since he was sacked for work for always loosing focus, but still, nothing seemed to go right.
Either I spent the little I had saved on his treatments or he squanders everything on drinking.
I should get tired, quit like my mum did and abandon him too but I couldn't do that to him, because this man was there for me when I had no one and he paid my bills, when he was able to.
"Alright sir. I will be back in some hours with the money." I told the doctor who was busy working in the lab with determination in my heart.
"No problem but please, latest, be here in 24 hours, otherwise it might be too late." The doctor warned and I dashed out immediately, because there was no time to waste.
Where I was going now was my last resort, a route I really didn't want to take but I had no choice, it was my father's life at stake here and I wasn't going to let him die.
Never.
I got into a cab and alighted at my boyfriend's apartment before bursting into the house, in a hurry.
I looked around and noticed the house seemed empty and silent. Naturally, Jeremy, my boyfriend would be on the coach, playing video games but today, he was no where to be found.
Wasn't he around? But then, why wasn't the apartment locked?
Just then, I began to hear sounds that made my stomach drop as a huge lump formed in my throat.
What were those?
Did Jeremy perhaps lend his apartment to one of his friends or something?
The sounds grew louder and;
"Yes baby. Hit that spot harder." I heard a girl moan, followed by the sounds of flesh clapping against one another.
I couldn't breathe, the groans that were following the moans, sounded so familiar and without thinking, my legs led me towards the bedroom.
I placed my hand on the door knob, about to twist it open.
Jeremy wouldn't do this to me right? He probably had a friend in there or something.
I removed my hand from the door handle, deciding to leave instead but my gut feelings kept pushing me so I opened the door and what I saw on the bed, hit me like a blow to the heart.
Jeremy was laying on the bed with two girls surrounding him. One was riding him to estacy and the other was feeding him her boobs.
It felt like I had been punched in the guts, my jaw dropping as the air around suddenly turned suffocating, especially when the one riding him, threw her head backwards from pleasure.
I noticed immediately, it was my best friend, Caroline.
"Give me that dick, Jeremy." She kept moaning, even going as far as touching herself as heavy tears stung my eyes.
It was just like a dream. I had to blink repeatedly to be sure, this was reality and it was.
My man was cheating on me with my best friend.
The bag and phone fell from my hand to the ground, the noise startling and alerting them as they immediately tore apart from one another.
I expected to see a look of remorse on Jeremy's face but he just stared at me blankly, while Caroline rolled her eyes, as if it was nothing.
The other girl, was the only one who had the decency of shame to grab the sheets to cover her body.
"What are you doing here?" Jeremy asked and I widened my eyes at him.
Doing here? Was that what he should be asking me?
I was about to speak when;
"I thought I sent you a break up message. I want nothing to do with you anymore." He added, his words slicing through me like a blade as I froze.
He sent me a break up message? How? When?
I immediately bent to grab my phone and checked my SMS, only to realize he was right.
I couldn't stop the tears anymore as they rolled down my cheeks.
"Why Jeremy? Why do this to me?" I cried and Caroline scoffed.
"How pathetic! I can't believe you dated a trash like her, Jer." She said and I gasped, my heart hurting badly.
Did my best friend just refer to me as pathetic and trash?
"Baby, you know I had no choice. She was gullible and so easy for me to fool. Too bad I didn't pop her cherry, while pretending to date her." Jeremy laughed and Caroline joined in, while I stood there, like a fool, trying to understand what was truly going on.
"W-what a-are you guys s-saying?" I stuttered and Caroline huffed.
"Are you that dumb? We are saying we never liked you in the first place and only clung to you because of the benefits we could get. The grades increment and you helping us, to do all our assignments but now that, you have quited college, we have no use for you, anymore. Besides you are beneath our level." Caroline winked as a shiver went down my spine.
Just then, my phone rang and I realized it was the doctor so my heart skipped a beat as I hurriedly picked it up.
"Yes?"
"I am so sorry, miss Layla. I don......."
ENEMIES.Layla's POV.I woke up to a beeping sound and glanced around, confused and lost.'Where was I?' I pondered as I tried to sit up but my head began to ache badly, as if a hammer was being hit on it.I struggled to open my eyes completely as I glanced around, realizing I was in an hospital ward. How did I get in here?Just then, memories of the previous day rushed back to my mind and I froze, my hands trembling in my laps as I remembered that, the doctor had called to inform, that my dad had died, because I didn't bring the surgery money on time.My heart clenched tightly against my chest as I began to struggle to breathe.'No, no. Not my dad.' The tears stung my eyes heavily, rolling down my cheeks before I could stop them.Just then, the door burst open and the doctor walked in, while writing on his notepad."Oh! You are awake, miss. Thank God, the man outside has been so worried and paranoid because you refused to wake up." The doctor told me and I froze. The man outside? Wha
PLEASURE.Layla's POV.He suddenly raised his head to look into my eyes and I could see him very clearly now, as I ran my hands into his curly, dark hair.He looked really familiar, like I had seen him before but where? Or was I mistaking him for someone else?"You are so beautiful, too beautiful. I hope you know that?" He suddenly said as he placed a finger on my bottom lip.I felt something whirling in my stomach as my heart melted. I opened my mouth and bit down on his finger gently and he chuckled.I laughed with him, feeling relieved and I had no idea why, perhaps it was the alcohol I sneaked away from Scarlett to drink earlier, so I wouldn't lose my nerves.Perhaps it was already working."So cute, with those cheeks I wanna bite." He continued as he pulled at my cheeks gently with both hands and I giggled, feeling kinda ticklish as his hands trailed down to my neck."Your laugh and smile are so adorable too. You should do them more." He continued and I smiled. He wasn't bad like
TO DO THIS.Layla's POV.It was 8pm in the night when we all got ready to storm whatever party was going on at Whitmore's hotel, one of the best in the country, New York.I was trying not to tremble as I walked behind Madam Alena, who was leading me to the supposed client's room.Scarlett had already gone to meet the client she was assigned to.We got in front of a room with golden designs on the door and stopped as Madam Alena turned to face me."Are you a virgin?" She asked and a huge lump formed in my throat as I nodded."Yes I am." I answered and she took in a deep breath."Wow! Are you sure you will be able to do this?" Her voice came out sharp, her expression stern and I knew right there, that she wanted an assurance I wouldn't mess up her business."Yes. Scarlett already taught me some tips." I lied, well not exactly because Scarlett did tell me tips, but not for how to please a client but for how to run, if there was any sign of danger."Good. Don't disappoint and this client
I NEED YOUR HELP.Layla's POV.The doctor suddenly paused and I held my breath, my stomach dropping as my palms grew sweaty. What did he want to say? I hope nothing had happened to father.I could almost hear my heart pounding heavily against my chest."I don't think your father's surgery can wait till 24 hours anymore. We barely have 12 hours left now." He told me as my hand holding the phone, began to shake but at the same time, I let out a sigh of relief. It wasn't as bad as i thought."It's getting late now so at least, by morning. You should have the funds ready." The doctor warned before ending the call, while I stood there, trying to think fast.It still hurts seeing my boyfriend and best friend mashed together in a sheet and then realizing that, all these while, I was actually being used but all that matter, didn't matter right now.My dad was more important so I left Jeremy's apartment, ignoring all the sarcastic comments and ache in my heart.'I should be fine once Dad has g
