An emergency call had just come in—a human male was rushed into the ER with a sharp object still lodged in his abdomen. I stood in the preparation room, my heart pounding violently.

The doors swung open, and the patient’s gurney was pushed in quickly. His body was pale, his breathing rapid, his face twisted in pain. In his left abdomen, a long knife was still embedded, blood seeping through the makeshift gauze the ER nurses had applied.

“Blood pressure?” Liam asked.

“80/50, Doctor! Pulse rapid and weak!” the anesthesia resident answered.

“Prepare two large IV lines. Run fluids fast! Hook up the monitor and get blood ready for transfusion!” Liam commanded.

I swallowed hard, my legs trembling. My eyes couldn’t leave the sight of the knife still buried in the man’s stomach.

God… what if it struck a vital organ?

Liam moved swiftly to the sink, scrubbing his hands before putting on sterile surgical attire. His commanding aura filled the room, instantly pulling everyone into focus.

That night I sat on the sofa in the apartment, emotions still tangled inside me. Alpha Gregor’s words kept echoing in my head, discarded wolf, disgraceful daughter-in-law. I lowered my head, clutching my knees tightly. The door creaked open. Liam walked in, his jacket already off, the collar of his white shirt open at the chest. He moved calmly toward the table, poured himself a glass of water, and drank it without a word.I swallowed, gathering the courage to ask softly, “You’re not angry with me? Because I spoke in front of Alpha Gregor.”He turned to me. “Angry? No.”I lifted my face, startled.Liam walked closer, standing tall in front of me. “I’m not angry. In fact, you had the courage to speak in front of him. That’s more than I expected.”“So you’re proud of me?”“Don’t get it wrong, Cole. I don’t take pride easily. But tonight, you didn’t look like a discarded omega. You looked like a Luna who knows how to stand at her Alpha’s side.”My face burned at his words. I wanted to sm

The following night, Liam truly kept his word. His long black car stopped in front of a grand hall often used for meetings between Alphas and the pack elders.I walked beside Liam nervously. My cold hand felt small within his grip. His breathing was steady, his stride firm, and his Alpha aura made everyone bow their heads as we passed. At the end of the room, an elderly man sat in a high-backed chair, wearing an elegant black suit, his silver hair slicked neatly back. His gaze was sharp, commanding respect. Alpha Gregor, Ronny’s father and Liam’s old friend.“Liam, it’s rare to see you here at this hour—and bringing a young woman I think I recognize.”His eyes flicked toward me, cold and assessing. I swallowed hard and quickly lowered my gaze.“She’s my Luna,” Liam answered firmly, without hesitation. The room instantly fell silent. Some seated along the long benches whispered softly, clearly startled by his direct declaration.Alpha Gregor raised his eyebrows.“Your Luna? That’s fast

“Liam…” I moaned, but it wasn’t a protest. It was a plea. The voice that came from my mouth was hoarse, foreign to my own ears.He didn’t answer with words. His reply came in the form of a kiss branded onto my skin. His lips, which had been so hard and claiming on my mouth, now transformed into an instrument of torturous patience. He traced every inch of my face, tasted the salt of my remaining tears, swept over my eyebrows, eyelids, temples.“You are mine,” he murmured, and it wasn’t a question. It was a fact being carved into my skin with every movement of his lips. “Every part of you. I will make you remember it.”He moved lower. His lips caressed the line of my jaw, then my throat.I cried out. The sensation was wild, too much. His tongue was hot and wet, circling, sucking, while the rough pads of his fingers never stopped stroking. I grabbed his hair, sinking my fingers into his thick, dark curls, not knowing whether I wanted to push him away or hold him there forever. He growled

I looked toward the end of the corridor and saw Kayla. She was standing there in a long beige coat, her hair flowing gracefully, her face smiling as if we were still friends like we used to be. But I knew that smile was fake. I had seen it before—the night I caught her with Ronny.“Kayla, what are you doing here?”She walked slowly toward me, the sound of her heels clicking against the floor. “Sienna, don’t be so cold. We used to be best friends.”“Best friends don’t sleep with each other’s boyfriends,” I said.“You’re still bitter about that? Be realistic, you’re just a cast-off omega. Ronny only used you, and if he chose me, doesn’t that make it obvious who’s more worthy?”“If you came only to insult me, don’t waste my time. I’m busy.”Kayla let out a soft laugh, then stopped right in front of me.“Relax. I’m not here to talk about Ronny. I came to warn you.”I frowned. “Warn me?”She leaned closer, her voice dropping as if to make sure only I could hear. “You do know who Liam Darkm

I returned to the hospital after lunch and went straight to the operating preparation room. The nurses were already arranging the sterile instruments, and in the middle of the room stood Dr. Helena Blackwood. Even with half her face covered by a mask, her eyes shone with confidence.“Cole,” she said smoothly, “you’ll be with me today. Prepare yourself. It’s an appendectomy with mild complications. Not as complex as Liam’s cases, but enough to train your precision.”I nodded quickly. “Yes, Doctor.”We stepped into the operating theater. The patient was already under anesthesia, monitors beeping steadily, the anesthesiology team in position. I stood awkwardly at one side of the table while Dr. Helena took her place, slipping on her sterile gloves with practiced ease.“Retractor,” she ordered. The nurse passed it to her, and the surgery began. The atmosphere was calm, broken only by the rhythm of the monitors and Helena’s occasional instructions.“Look closely at this incision. Surgery i

Lunch break arrived. I stepped out of the hospital building, trying to calm my restless thoughts. I decided to cross the street to a small convenience store.I sat on a long bench under the shade of a tree, unwrapped my food, but for some reason my appetite was gone. Dr. Adrian’s words still echoed in my mind. Before I could touch my spoon, my phone vibrated. The name on the screen made my chest tighten. Mother. My fingers trembled as I pressed the green button. “Hello, Mom?”“Sienna? Finally, you answered. I’ve been trying to call you.”I wiped the corner of my eye. “I’m sorry, Mom. I’ve been busy at the hospital.”“Where are you living now? I went to your old place and it was empty. The neighbors said you moved weeks ago. Why didn’t you tell me?”“I did move, but I can’t explain it over the phone.”Her voice grew more anxious. “Why not? What’s going on? Don’t hide things from me. You know I only want you to be safe.”“I am safe, Mom. Please believe me. I’m just living closer to the
