The next morning, Violet woke up late. After completing her morning routine, she went to have breakfast but was surprised to see freshly cooked food already placed on the dining table. Ethan was sitting there as if he had been waiting for her.

“I-Is someone coming?” she asked, unsure if she could eat or not.

Ethan sighed in frustration and pointed to the chair beside him, signaling her to sit. She followed his instruction and calmly waited for his reply. He felt awkward, not knowing how to tell her that he had made it for her.

“I woke up early, so I decided to make breakfast… and ended up making too much. So, you can eat.”

Without asking further questions, Violet nodded and took a small bite of the sandwich. She almost gasped in surprise, it was actually delicious.

“How is it?”

She gave him a polite smile and a dull response.

“Good.”
