Chapter 4

It was the weekend. 

I woke up when I heard a ringtone on my phone.

"Hello, Alice. What happened?" I yawned and asked.

"Rossy, wake up, let's have fun tonight. I got a call from my friend. He told me that today Liam is throwing a party." Alice said.

 "Who is Liam?" I asked.

"You are kidding me, Rossy. It's been a year since you came back but you don't know about our new beta??" She asked shockingly.

"Oh get it now. I knew his face but didn't know his name." I said.

"Okay, so are we going today?" She asked.

"Wait a minute. Where is the party? And why would we go? What's the reason for his sudden party?" I asked nonchalantly.

"Relax my girl. First, it's Liam and his mate's first anniversary. And second, he invited us all." She said happily.

"I never talked with him. It's kind of awkward." I said.

"Oh please, nobody is gonna talk with him there, everyone will be having fun with their companions. So you are coming with me. And don't worry about Auntie. You know I'm her little princess, right? I have already persuaded her to let you go to the party." She said.

"Ok fine. It's not like if I say no, you will listen to me." I teased her.

"Yes, you are right." She laughed.

I hung up the call. Then I went to my dreamland again.

In the afternoon, mom came to my room and said, " What's wrong with you? Are you sick? Why haven't you woken up yet? It's so late, you didn't have your breakfast, not even your lunch. Now you have to wake up and eat."

"Mom, five more minutes, please. It's the weekend and I couldn't get this peaceful sleep in the last whole week." I said without opening my eyes.

"Rose, you will go to a party today. Come on, wake up, have your lunch " she said.

I opened my eyes suddenly, " Oh, I forgot about today's party."

I did my routine, had lunch, and watched some series on N*****x when I got a call,

"Rossy, I am outside of your house. Come on, hurry up." Alice said.

"But I'm not ready yet," I shouted.

"I came to pick you up. We will go to my house, get ready and go to the party. Now please hurry up." She begged.

"Ok, I'm coming," I replied.

I told my mom that I was leaving.

"Don't forget to come back early. Don't be too late. And stay away from unmated male wolves." My mom warned me.

"Ok, mom. Bye." I replied.

Alice and I went to her home. She had a bunch of fancy clothes. She was rich, I must say. She was a party person. 

"Come on girl, let me choose clothes for us." She told me and took out two dresses. 

One of them is hot red and another one is dark black.

She gave me the black one.

"I know black is your favorite color. Now let's get ready," she said.

"But I think it's too revealing. People can almost see my cleavage." I told her.

"When you go to the party you will see how gentle your clothing is. I'm telling you it's a nice dress. Now go and get ready." She pushed me to the bathroom to change.

I wore the dress, it looked good on me. But I could see my curves in the mirror. It's not a short dress, its layer that stopped under my knee. I tried to do simple make-up because I didn't want to get the attention of unmated Alphas. Alice looked gorgeous, that's for sure. She told me I looked hot. I laughed at her compliment.

When Alice and I reached the party I saw it was a club. So Liam was throwing the party at the club?

I wanted to ask but didn't want to spoil Alice’s mood. We went inside. Music was here and there. People were eating each other's faces.

We went to the bar counter. We ordered soft drinks, then a good-looking boy came to us. 

"Alice, finally you have come." he looked relieved.

"Of course, you know how much I love parties. I had to come." She said while sipping her drink.

“Yes, I know that." He nodded and looked at me.

"This is Rose. My only best friend I always talk about. And Rose, this is Vector, my friend, and our Alpha's theta." She introduced us.

Our Alpha's theta? From Alpha, I suddenly remembered that Liam is Arvan's beta, so he would be here for sure.

"Hi, Rose. Feel free to enjoy yourself." Vector smiled.

"Hello, Vector. Thank you.” I replied.

Vector went to his friends. That's when I noticed a man in black clothing, our Alpha Arvan. He was looking hot. Showing half of his tattoo on his hand and perfectly muscled body, he looked hot. 

" Rossy, that's Rita, Liam's mate. She is an alpha female. Very strong and energetic. I bet our beta, Liam, didn't even imagine in his life that he would get an Alpha female as his mate." She said while looking at a girl who wore a black & white dress. She looked beautiful and strong.

I agreed with Alice. When we were talking, I saw someone hugging Arvan. I looked there and saw Lina hugging him. She was very close with all the members of the group. Of course, she was soon to be Luna of everyone. So it was natural for them to be so close to her.

Suddenly, Vector came to us and said, 

"Come on girls, we will play some games. You have to participate." 

"What game? I wanted to dance with Rossy but you want to play games?" Alice said.

"Come on Alice. You know me, it will be fun. Rose, let's go, she will come when you have fun and she will get bored alone". He smirked.

"Shut up, I'm coming." She said and I laughed.

We went to a private room where everyone was sitting down on the floor. Arvan was there with his girlfriend Lina sitting beside him. When Vector started talking, Arvan looked at me, his eyebrows raised as if he didn't expect me to be here with them. He tightened his jaw and looked furious. 

'Why does he always get angry whenever he sees me?' I thought.

" Everyone, this is my friend Alice and her friend Rose. They were getting bored, so I told them to join us." Vector said.

"Happy Anniversary." I wished Liam and his mate Rita.

"Thanks, Rose. Nice to have you here." Liam said awkwardly. I didn't know why he looked uncomfortable while talking with me.

"Yeah, thanks. Come on join us." Rita said happily.

Alice also wished them and they thanked her.

Then Alice sat in the middle of me and Vector. Unfortunately, I had to sit beside Arvan. Unfortunately because after I sat beside him, he didn't look comfortable. He behaved strangely. Sometimes he was sniffing the air, sometimes he was taking deep breaths.

I stopped noticing his behavior and focused on the game. The game was Truth & Dare. Liam chose to dare and kissed Rita in front of us. It created a steamy situation there. Then everyone cheered for the couple and started to play again.

When the bottle stopped in front of Arvan. He chose the truth.

"Let me ask him, when will you mark Lina?" Alice suddenly asked.

Hearing the question, everyone was excited except Liam. He looked worried.

"Very Soon." With a deep voice, Arvan replied.

"Baby I love you." Lina kissed his cheek and almost sat on his lap. She wore a white sexy dress showing her cleavage.

Everyone started to congratulate Lina. Rita hugged Lina like best friends. Maybe they were best friends.

Alice looked satisfied with his answer. But I felt heartbroken. I didn't feel good about that. I felt anxious and lost.

Suddenly, Vector spoke out, 

"It's your turn, Rose. Truth or dare?" 

I was lost in my thoughts. When I heard Vector, I saw the bottle stop in front of me.

"Truth," I replied.

"Have you found your mate? If not, then what about your birthday?" Liam asked.

I was shocked because I had never had a conversation with Liam before. And here he was asking me about mates.

"No, I haven't found my mate yet. And my birthday is next week, so he'll be with me - Very Soon." I replied. I said 'very soon' just like the way Arvan said.

I saw Arvan tighten his fists. Then suddenly he growled. He got up from there and left without saying anything.

Everyone was shocked except Liam.

I was bewildered and thought, 

‘WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU, ARVAN? 

WHY ARE YOU CONFUSING ME?’
