Saul gritted his teeth and signaled to his people to back off. “We will transact inside.” He looked directly into Robin's eyes.

“Good choice.”

Robin instructed his men to lead Rose onto the helicopter. Other helicopters were also deployed to transfer the women Robin ordered.

Soon afterwards, Saul and Robin emerged from the building. Now, the big boss appears to be happier than before. Who wouldn't be delighted to get that much money?

As Robin entered the same helicopter as Rose, he asked, “You can read, right?”

Rose was kidnapped when she was eighteen. To be more exact, after her high school graduation. Of course, she can read and write.

Rose, on the other hand, wasn't even offended that she was perceived as uneducated. She was still perplexed and horrified by the situation that had just happened.

“I can,” Rose replied softly.

“Read this.” Robin handed her a yellow map. Rose instantly followed his orders without saying anything.

Rose's new identification documents can be seen on the map. Her name, date of birth, school, and other information are all listed.

“From now on, your name is Poppy.”

Rose looked surprised when Robin mentioned her new name. When their gazes met, she swiftly lowered her head. She became increasingly nervous since their seats were too close together.

“Remember, you've never set foot on this island. You're just an ordinary woman who married me,” Robin warned.

Robin's expression became sharper. His once-peaceful eyes had turned as sharp as a razor, ready to pierce anyone's defenses. The furrowed line between his brows made his face appear even more menacing. Rose's breath froze in her throat as she glanced at his face.

“I don't like waiting for people to answer my words, let alone having to repeat them twice.” Robin's voice was quiet yet full of pressure, like embers waiting to ignite at any moment.

“I—I understand, sir...” She responded in a voice that sounded almost like a whisper, as if in a last desperate effort to break the menacing silence.

“Robin. You should get used to calling my name.”

Rose could feel her heart pounding quickly. Robin appeared to be softer toward her.

When the helicopter went away, her imagination of him came to an end. As the helicopter began to depart, she bowed her head and stared out the window at the view of Solterra Island from above.

“Goodbye, Rose, and everything that has happened to me all this time.”

Tears fell down her cheeks as the island faded from view. Her chest is full of emotions. She felt as if she had been released from prison. She was relieved, joyful, and looking forward to a better future.

Poppy wasn't expecting to be whisked away directly to Robin's mansion. The atmosphere in the mansion, which has European classical architecture, is serene and cool. She stood awkwardly, feeling small against the tall walls adorned with antique paintings and elegant furnishings.

Robin Luciano, a man with an authoritative posture and an icy demeanor, stood near a large curved stairway. His keen eyes observed Poppy from a distance, yet his facial expression was unreadable.

“You're free to do whatever you want here. But remember, never go to the third floor.”Robin only spoke those two things that night, in an authoritative tone with absolutely no room for negotiation.

Robin's room and private workplace are on the third floor. He set a clear restriction for Poppy right away. She could only nod softly and didn't ask any more questions.

That night, Poppy ate her meal in the stunning dining room, accompanied by the quiet clinking sound of cutlery and infrequent maid footfall. However, one thing seems strange: Robin is nowhere to be seen.

Antonio takes care of all of the needs.

The next morning ...

Antonio knocked on Poppy's bedroom door quietly, just as the sun was shining. “Miss Poppy, Mr. Robin has asked you to come to his office this morning,” he said politely.

Poppy prepared right away and followed Antonio to the workplace on the first floor. Robin was sitting behind his desk with a stack of documents in front of him as soon as the door opened. The sound of the wall clock could be slightly heard in a room filled with the smell of wood and old books.

“Sit,” Robin said briefly, pointing to the sofa in the corner of the room. Poppy obeyed, sitting anxiously on the plush sofa and watching Robin get up from his chair.

Robin retrieved a document from his desk and walked over to Poppy. Without saying much, he handed her the document.

“Read,” he said in a bland tone, then sat down on the sofa facing her.

Poppy opened the document hesitantly. Her eyes widened when she read the text swiftly.

Marriage Certificate!

“This... are we married?” She asked in a whispery tone, still unable to believe it.

Robin nodded. “Everything has been taken care of. Our marriage is legally valid with your new identity as of today,” he stated without any further explanation.

Poppy was stunned. She knew Robin was a powerful man, but she wasn't expecting everything to be solved quickly. She gazed at the document with a mixture of disbelief, confusion, and fear of the man in front of him.

“You don't need to worry,” Robin added, his voice getting softer but still chilly. “All of this is done to uphold the terms of our agreement. Your new identity will protect you, and you will now be known as my wife, at least on paper.”

Poppy nodded slowly. She gripped the document tightly, conscious that in an instant her life had changed drastically.

“Wow, I'm waiting for my sister-in-law. Why did my brother show up instead?” Rafael pretended to be disappointed, but he was actually not.Rafael's calmness made Robin a little nervous. He expected Rafael to be disappointed by his appearance. Rafael, on the other hand, simply sat in the chair, seemingly unsurprised. However, Robin remained calm. Rafael might just be concealing his anxiety.“Too bad. Rafael, it appears you are unable to steal mine.” Robin smirked.“Yours? What do you mean? Your wife, or your mafia family?” Rafael grinned. “Say it clearly, because I want both.”Robin clenched his fists, trying not to appear too aggressive in front of Rafael. Robin was convinced that Rafael had planned something based on his beliefs.“I have a lot going on. Tell me what you really want.”Rafael laughed until he held his stomach, thinking his brother's question was ridiculous. "You resemble our grandfather, Robin. You always think I'm playing around. I've answered your question.Robin was

  • Captive of Mafia Desire   168. A Trap

Robin Luciano has learned that Alice has replaced his wife in the room, and she is no longer in danger. He would no longer hesitate to use weapons, taking a firm stance with the guards.“Wake up! It's time to catch those damn rats!”Upon hearing Robin's orders, the bodyguards who had fainted near the gate immediately stood up. Their performance ended. They then trailed Robin's other bodyguards.Robin grinned in the darkness. The intruders turned off the electricity, so there was no light.“Fortunately, I agreed with Antonio's words.”On the way home, Robin learned more about Rafael and his allies' movements. He immediately set a trap, knowing Rafael would hasten his plan.Gunshots could still be heard inside the main building. Robin, on the other hand, showed no signs of worry. He has secretly increased the number of special bodyguards and assigned old bodyguards to protect employees who are unable to carry weapons.“Looks like it's finished.” Robin muttered. When they arrived in fron

  • Captive of Mafia Desire   167. Trustworthy Friend

Poppy was shocked, her chest pounding furiously. She wanted to scream, but someone's hand covered her mouth.“Poppy, don't shout, and speak softly,” Alice whispered.Poppy looked to the side and saw Alice crouching near her bed with a serious expression. Then she nodded in response. The time is one o'clock in the morning. Alice usually goes to bed early, but she has suddenly appeared in her room, which should have been locked from the inside.“What are you doing here, Alice? How do you get in?” Poppy inquired while sitting down.“Listen to me carefully, Poppy. Immediately meet Mrs. April on the first floor through this room's balcony.”“What—”Alice again covered her mouth with a hand as she was about to scream. “I've put a rope ladder on the balcony railing in case something happens. Go down with that and don't make any noise.”“Why? What happened?” Poppy spoke in a panicked tone.“Intruders are entering this house. All the guards outside fainted for no apparent reason. I'm sure thos

“Mr. Larry!” Poppy exclaimed. She squinted around him. Fortunately, nobody heard.‘I wonder if he is aware of the incident.’ Her face flushed when she remembered Robin had punished her in the elevator.“At the time, I was resetting the elevator password. Only that day did I accidentally peek.”Larry must have been aware of what had occurred in that small space. He could definitely smell the scent of the love fluid left behind as he was about to meet Stefan, who was still living on the third floor at the time. However, Poppy is unlikely to realize it. She poked her chest, relieved that no one could witness the embarrassing incident.“Didn't you say that I can't talk about you with others? Why did you come inside?” Poppy inquired as she entered the main building of the mansion.“I'm going to meet your impostor mother. April is my best friend. I have something to say to her.”“Oh my goodness, you always surprise me!”“You'll be surprised again when you learn she's a former army sniper.”

  • Captive of Mafia Desire   165. Going Back Home

Robin is still looking at the picture of Rafael's letter to his wife. He appeared hesitant to make a decision.“Sir, our plan will begin in two days. You can take care of Rafael while I lead the way to Solterra Island.” The look in Antonio's eyes indicated a strong determination. He is a reliable person. He can maintain his composure under any circumstances. Robin, on the other hand, was concerned that Antonio would lash out when the attack began. When Robin last visited Solterra Island, he noticed Antonio's sharp gaze as he approached Saul, as if he wanted to strangle him with both hands. Robin speculated that Antonio's anger was suppressed because Saul was hiding Poppy behind his back.“No, I will go with you.”“Sir, you are also aware that I will not act carelessly because of my personal grudges against Saul. I swear I won't mess up your plan,” Antonio said firmly.Robin appeared to be thinking hard. He couldn't let Antonio lose control, as it would endanger his life. On the other

  • Captive of Mafia Desire   164. Don’t Hate Him

“I used to believe that Mrs. Sienna never had an affair. You can guess that based on her behavior and character, correct?”Poppy nodded.“However, there were eyewitnesses to their affair. He was Rod, Mr. Dante's right hand, until Luca took over. Furthermore, there is evidence from DNA test results that Mr. Rafael is not Mr. Stefan's biological child.”“But Mr. Dante can easily falsify test results, especially since technology at the time was not as advanced as it is today. Robin can even make a new identity for me overnight.”Larry's previously calm expression has turned cloudy as he recalls his master's bitter past. “I could have looked into it further, but Mrs. Sienna vanished unexpectedly, leaving a message saying she couldn't live with Mr. Stefan because she no longer loved him... whereas justifying her affair with one of the guards.”“Impossible...” Poppy muttered in disappointment.“Mr. Stefan must have informed you earlier. Mrs. Sienna abandoned Robin on his birthday. That kid

  • Captive of Mafia Desire   163. Their Past

Poppy was perplexed again. Is Larry on Rafael's side? It is clear, however, that Stefan despises his youngest son, who is not of his bloodline.“If Robin's bodyguards see you approaching the mansion from the outside, they will definitely report it to him. I'll take you there.”“Wait a minute.” Poppy stopped Larry from standing up. “Can you tell me where Mrs. Sienna is right now?”“Why would you want to know?”Even though she has heard from Stefan, she is still unsure whether his words are true or simply the result of his mental illness. She wants to know and find a solution to heal the wounds in Robin's heart.“I just want to get to know Robin better. He will not tell me. I hope he can share the wound in his heart with me.”Larry could clearly see her flushed cheeks. He smiled faintly and sat back down casually.“I'll tell you if you don't mind listening to the long story and keeping it a secret from everyone.”Poppy immediately nodded. Larry then began to tell the Luciano family's s

  • Captive of Mafia Desire   162. Your Daughter-In-Law

Larry just arrived a few minutes ago. This is his first close encounter with Poppy.Robin must have had a special reason for choosing this woman, he thought. Poppy's stature and hair are almost identical to Sienna's.“Who are you? Why are you here?” Stefan suddenly realized Poppy was not his wife. They're kneeling on the floor, just finished calming down after crying for a long time. Stefan abruptly alters his behavior.Poppy wondered. ‘Could it be that he cried so much that his eyes cleared and he no longer sees me as his wife?’“I'm asking! Don't make me ask my question twice! Are you the girl that my father paid to seduce me?!” The way he yells and the sentence he uses are very similar to his son's.“I'm your daughter-in-law. Robin Luciano's wife.”Poppy glanced at Larry, who shook his head, preventing her from responding honestly. She shouldn't have revealed her identity because Stefan believes Robin is still a dozen years old.Stefan might go berserk again with such a minor trigg

  • Captive of Mafia Desire   161. His Dad

Poppy gaped in terror and froze in place. She didn't have time to react, so she just closed her eyes tightly as Stefan approached her, as if he was about to stab her.“Damn bodyguard! How dare you touch my wife?! I will kill you!”“Stop it!” Poppy screamed in a high-pitched voice. When she couldn't hear any movement around her, she opened her eyes.Stefan, who was already nearby and had almost stabbed the bodyguard, who had remained silent and calm, stopped moving when he heard her scream. The kitchen knife slipped from his grasp, fortunately not striking his own feet.“I apologize. I didn't mean to yell at you...” Poppy regretted it, afraid of making Stefan even angrier. She retreated slowly, looking to one of the bodyguards for assistance. However, no one approached or appeared to want to assist her.Despite their silence, the guards remained alert. They would rather not aggravate Stefan's anger.Stefan was staring at her and approaching at the same speed. His hands trembled as if
