A problem

Niklaus' Pov

I rested back in my chair and turned my attention towards the golden ball which colored the sky in an orange hue that was now beginning to wane as the clouds began receding towards the horizon. It was almost nightfall.

I stood up from the chair and walked towards the balcony on my left as the wind gently brushed over my cheeks like feathers and the air smelled like fresh-cut grass. Shutting my eyes, I inhaled the earthy scent that came from the trees as they swayed back and forth in the cool breeze.

I scanned the surrounding area, taking in the sight of houses, and trees as the bird chirped above in the sky. I was stressed out after attending to some Pack duties.

A lump rose in my throat when I remembered the timely massage Emily gave me in times like these. I didn't have to say too much with her around. She understood even my unspoken words.

"Who's out there?" I called out as I walked back into my office.

"It's me, Erik." A familiar voice replied.

"C
