Chapter Ten

"You can calm down now, Miss Rae. The baby is still intact, alive and kicking." The doctor smiled as he announced it to us.

"Oh good Lord, thank you!" Sydney exclaimed happily.

While i couldn't contain the relief i felt after hearing it. It was as if a certain bile was removed from my throat, so I could finally breathe freely.

"Thank God! Thank you, doc..." I murmured, still in a state of gratefulness.

"You're very much welcome! Well, you have a little fighter there. It's amazing, a phenomenon. That was too much blood lost but it didn't give up. You have a strong child in the making, Miss Rae." He proudly said which made me smile even more.

Sydney was smiling while caressing my hair, she looks happy and relieved too. My hand found its way to my tummy, gently caressing it.

That's right, baby. Keep holding on. I'm so proud of you, strong soul. Don't leave momma, okay? I can never be in myself again if ever that happens.
