I used to say that Kael loved me and the child so much that he would give up his own life. I couldn't understand how he suddenly broke his vows and kept a mistress.

Now I knew. It was because of her.

Seeing this scene, my breath hitched, and my blood seemed to stop flowing.

It all made sense.

I finally understood why Kael would agree to abort our child without hesitation just because of one sentence from this girl.

That face, those eyes, that feeling.

I didn't dare to watch Kael and the girl kissing intimately under the moonlight any longer. I fled back home almost in a panic.

Back home, I sat on the cold floor, unable to calm down for a long time.

That girl's face flashed before my eyes repeatedly, like a ghost.

It made me realize that this matter was far more terrifying and bizarre than I had imagined.

My hands trembling, I took out my phone and sent emergency messages to several people.

Half an hour later, my parents, Kael's mother Elara, and Kael's sister Rachel all rushed to my residence.

"What's wrong, Seraphina? You sent an emergency signal. Did something happen?"

The four of them sat around me, looking at my pale face with concern.

I looked at them deeply, took a deep breath, and told them directly about Kael's betrayal and his plan to trick me into aborting the child to please his mistress.

Hearing this, Kael's mother stood up abruptly, trembling with anger.

"That bastard! How could he do this to you and the child? This is against the laws of the wolf!"

"Seraphina, don't be sad. I will go drag that ungrateful son back here and punish him by family law!"

My mother stopped the furious Elara and asked me cautiously.

"Seraphina, could there be a misunderstanding? We watched Kael grow up. Everyone sees how loyal he is to you. How could he cheat?"

My father nodded too.

"Yes, he values you and the child more than his Alpha position. How could he lie to you about an abortion for an outsider?"

Rachel echoed in disbelief, "Yeah, Seraphina. You are the only woman my brother has ever loved. You are his fated mate. Every cell in his body screams that he loves you. How could he do something so insane for a mistress?"

I knew they wouldn't believe it. Kael's image as a devoted mate was too perfect.

"What if it's for her?"

I held up my phone, turning the screen so they could see the photo I had snapped. The girl's face was clearly visible on the bright display.

The moment they saw the girl's photo, the four people who were certain Kael couldn't cheat instantly turned pale.

"How can this be?"

"Why is it her?"

Kael's mother murmured, her face white, her eyes full of horror as if she had seen an impossible taboo.

Rachel's confident expression vanished, and the cup in her hand crashed to the floor.

"It's her... No wonder my brother wants you to get an abortion..."

My parents went limp on the sofa, their voices trembling.

"It's over. It's all over!"
