Nicholas Russell
“Nicholas! You finally arrived with your team!”
My uncle Henry let out, welcoming me.
“Hello uncle, how have you been?” I asked, giving them a brief hug as he replied. “All good, son. Let’s go in!”
He motioned to my crew, waving his hands toward them.
“Come on along, your rooms have already been prepared just like Nicholas asked.”
“Thank you, Mr. Henry!”
The luggage, portmanteau, and devices were all carried inside by the working staff.
I removed my black glasses studying the view as soon as I was in my suite. It’s been years and some developments were done, following the installation of new seats beside the swimming pool outside with a beach umbrella shade.
“Emma…”
I muttered with a recall of how beautiful she looked today. Her jet-black hair had a bit of curl, and her white teeth, and the intensity I felt whenever she came around. After that one-night stand, I went back to being the same billionaire. One who chased women and made them spread their legs.
However, I couldn’t remember the last time I felt entirely connected to someone as I did years ago. Or today.
“Too bad you’re married, already.”
---------------------------------------------
“Good morning, Doctor.”
“Nicholas! You’re back as they say!” he exclaimed, patting my shoulder.
“Yeah, yeah... What are you doing in the Country Club?” I asked him.
“I got reports of the flu amongst the community and came to check them,”
“I see.”
I was back in the rehearsing hall, as soon as possible.
“One... two... three... four, five... six, seven, eight. A little to the left, to the right, front and back.”
The dance coach let out, as the actress rehearsed her dance role in my movie series, ‘Romancing the Spinster’.
We weren’t in the main location yet, instead, it was an empty hall in the Country Club so we planned the entire thing out. The walls were soundproof so it didn’t disturb Henry’s business partners and the other elders.
Romancing a Spinster was a cowboy romance mixed with action and lots of drama I was hoping was enough to win the next awards. I had my eye for the gem, that’s why I even started this in the first place.
Through my findings, the movies we had to travel to places for ended up with more ratings due to a good viewer experience.
“And that will be all for today,” I announced, making the choreographers sigh in relief with the other actors.
It’s been hours since they’ve all been rehearsing.
A few minutes after I got to my room, a knock came in.
“Come in.”
I said, even though I wore only briefs and a white robe which flashed my bare chest. Pouring a glass of tequila, I heard a sweet voice, “Mr. Nicholas, your meal.”
It was Emma.
I wondered if the devil planned this because she had this flowery gown whose arms, were similar to the Elizabethan period with a little gold pendant in between her breasts.
Her perfume smelled of a rich rose scent.
“Thanks.” I let out, mesmerized by her sight once more. She made a move to drop the food only for me to see her hands shaking as if she was anxious.
“Is everything okay?”
“Yeah... yeah, sure.”
Holding my glass, I walked to her and the minute I did, she took a step back. She kept doing the same thing over and over again, till she was pressed against the white wall.
“W-What are you doing? I’m married, remember?”
“I see,” I let out. “Then tell me why the Doctor said you weren’t married, this morning?”
“You met him…?”
“Technically yeah... he came to treat the community. What are you hiding from me, Emma? Tell me, baby. I won’t throw a tantrum or judge.”
“Is that right? Cause that’s like what you do.” she laughed a bit. “Besides, don’t think you should look into my personal affairs, Nicholas dating to the fact that you abandoned me after that night-“
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, stop right there. Did you expect a meal in bed?” I chuckled at her words. “I paid your medical bills and gave you a place to rest till you got better.”
“Is that what you think?”
“Yeah.”
“I thought we had something genuine even though we just met and you left!”
Tears suddenly flickered in her eyes. Why was she crying? I walked in opposite directions to my suit’s pocket, got my handkerchief, and wiped off her eyes before carrying on my words.
“Emma, you knew the kind of man I was before we got in bed. This is why I asked if you wanted it. I don’t take a woman twice; I don’t fall in love neither am I looking for a happy-ever-after.”
“So, I heard.”
“You heard what?” Anyway, I wasn’t surprised. There were many publications about me, thanks to the meddling paparazzi. “Does it matter now? You already proved to me how much of an asshole you can be.”
“Emma, is there something more to this-“
“Nope, just thinking about a situation where you love someone someday,” she said. “And when you do, you will be put in a situation where the person has to abandon you. Just like you did to me, Nicholas.”
“Are we still talking about the same thing here?”
“What do you think?”
She glared at me, chin up as she strode outside closing the door behind her and making me connect my hands to my waist with a sigh.
“Women.”
I muttered, running a hand over my head.
A situation in which a person has to abandon me…
This couldn’t be right. I mean, not like she got pregnant or something? I use protection, I always do. So, did I that night, five years ago?
“Hold.On.A.Damn.Minute.”
Did I use protection with her? I always used protection with every woman.
Flashback.
“Protection?”
“With you, I want it raw baby.”
Reality.
Was that child my son?
To think of it, she lied about being married meaning she wanted some kind of protection around me. Maybe she was trying to hide the little boy!
I wore my clothes, rushing out the door and the white and black tiled passageway to confront her on it.
“Emma?” I searched around, but couldn’t find her.
“Gosh, he’s so handsome,”
I ignored the teensy-weensy voices of actresses who thought I couldn’t hear them. “Have you seen Miss Emma?”
I asked a servant, who pointed towards the exterior of the Country Club where barbecue and some grilling of meat were taking place. The community people circled each other while she was amongst them talking amongst them. She was clothed in a shiny silver short dress, which complimented her raven hair which cascaded to her shoulder level.
“Emma,”
She looked at me, before facing the other direction ignoring me. “Emma, we need to talk.”
I leaned in dragging her arms with me without even waiting for her to reply to me. There were amazed gazes locked at us, but I didn’t care one bit.
“You think you can drag me out of anywhere, anytime?”
She said, just as we got outside towards the ranch area.
I didn’t talk until we were fully inside the stable, which was void of any horse from the event on the other side.
I puffed out some air, before saying,
“Jonathan. Is he ... is he, my son?”
She stared at me, laughing.
“Why will you think that? Was it because we slept with each other years ago-”
“Five years ago. And, from my findings, Jonathan is around that age so tell me the truth, Emma.”
“Were stalking my son because of a lousy one-night-stand we had?”
“There’s no way you consider that to be lousy...” I seethed, stepping even closer. “... quit playing games, sweetheart.”
Taking her hands in mine, I held the sides of her face taking her chin in my hands and kissing her. “Stop lying.”
At first, she didn’t kiss me back but when I twirled my tongue with hers, she did. My hands palmed her butts, pressing and smooching only to feel ecstasy run through me. My manhood became rock-hard connecting with her clothed entrance which made her moan.
Emma looked into my eyes, making me run my hands through her breasts with her moaning. The next thing I knew, she rubbed my length as we were both unable to contain the fire that threatened to outrage.
I unbuckled my pants, raising her short gown, and with her panties slung to a side, I took her from behind slowly. I heard women felt sex differently after birth. Thus, I didn’t rush until she motioned her hips for me too.
Slamming into her, my hands covered her mouth when she moaned from the intense fucking, I gave her a spanking on her bum occasionally.
“Who owns that pussy now, Emma?”
“You.”
“What was that, baby? I didn’t hear you correctly?”
“You...” Her walls gripped my cock as she whimpered in pleasure. I went fast, so rapid as I hit her G-spot holding her black hair as I went inside her. I came inside her once more, not even aware of when I did.
My control was no more, with her… because I usually won’t do this. Have sex in a public space. With her... it was almost like I was addicted.
“Emma?”
“Yeah?”
“Why didn’t you call me after finding out you were pregnant?”
I asked after we wore our clothes. “I could have taken a flight back to town. For five damn years, you didn’t even call me, or at worse write to my social media? What if I never showed up again?”
She stood up, running her hands through her black hair like she was brushing it. I watched as she did the same for her clothes.
“Do I have to answer that?”
“Yep.”
“Gosh...” she folded her hands. “You don’t understand, any of this, do you?”
“How will I when you won’t talk to me?”
“He is not your son.”
“Then how come I have this message?” I showed her the screen of the test results.
“Did you take my son’s blood to prove a point?” she snarled.
“Our son. And, it was just a tiny bit of his hair I sent to the lab, nothing more.”
Emma pointed her index fingers, demonstrating her words as she spoke.
“You’re infuriating. Pain in the ass.”
She began walking away only for me to bring out my phone. Luckily, I had her details thanks to the fact that she worked for my uncle who gave the worker’s account details in case he was busy or not available to pay up.
[To Emma: Transfer $1,000,000 to her savings account.]
Payment is successful!
Beep, Beep. Emma stopped in her tracks as soon as she got the message. She walked back to me.
“Why did you send this?”
“You both need it. As his father, it’s my responsibility to provide for him.”
“Is that what you think cause he survived for five years without you, Nicholas.”
“I wasn’t even aware of his existence, Emma.”
“Now you’re aware, is this all you can do? Do you have any idea of the pain I was in…” she trailed off only to pause her words.
“W-What are you talking about? Isn’t the money enough, sweetheart? Do you need more?”
“I don’t need your money if that is what you have to offer in your son’s life.”
I watched her walk away this time, without motioning to call her at the realization of what I had just done.
Nicholas Russell “Hello, yeah, speak.” I took a phone call as I drove the car down Nevada town. “Sir we just spotted your ex-wife in Nevada’s airport, from her coordination she seems to be making her way to you.” One of my movie crew members, said to me leaving me wide-eyed, “What? How’s that, are you... sure about what you saw?” I asked with a fierce grip on the steering wheel bringing Emma’s attention, she stared at me curiously at what was happening. “Yes sir, I thought to inform you so there won’t be surprises.” “Okay, thanks for the information,” I said. “One more thing sir- her luggage it seemed she’ll be staying for a while.” “Really? That’s strange. Thanks for the call, Reuben.” “It’s nothing, sir, one more thing though, she seemed-“ I hung up so I didn’t leave Emma curious any longer. The last thing I needed was her worrying about her state. “Everything okay?” She asked, from her seat only for me to nod a ‘yes’. “Just business call on the movie ratings and some othe
17Nicholas RussellEmma buried her head in my chest, making me smirk. She wasn’t the kind to be shy thus, making her like this was quite rare. This was cute however, thinking of the fact that she kept something so delicate from me was scary. When the doctor told me those words, it made me feel lost. It reminded me of the familiar feeling that passed my chest when my wife left me... I abhorred every inch of that feeling because there was nothing for me, in it.So painful...Unnerving and heart wrenching...Her yawn brought me from my thoughts. The sun in the bright sky was starting to set. And it looked like it was going to rain anytime soon. Walking with her in the hospital arena wasn’t something I planned.I wanted the opposite of this for her. Especially with knowing that she might not be here soon.“Gosh, I’m so tired.” she said, stretching while I arched a brow at her.“So,” I started, “Will you tell me the reason you kept something big as this from me?”“What was I meant
16Emma StarrThere was Mrs. Elton from the supermarket. By her side was Morticia and a few familiar faces, Mr. Henry didn’t exclude himself, as he was just right at the front. To my surprise, they brought themselves down here to the hospital making my heart flutter with so much appreciation held in them.“I’m so sorry, Emma. I should have listened to you when you said you couldn’t manage the party. Who knew this was what you meant? Oh, this is so hard to take in...”Mr. Henry sounded sober, bringing out some hanky to clean his eyes. “We agreed not to make her feel sad.”Someone whispered, but I could hear making me smile a bit watching an elderly woman come forward,“Whatever this is, we are fighting it together, Emma, don’t you worry child.”I nodded, as she hugged me in comfort. My hands moved to return the hug, feeling extremely foreign. There was a reason I didn’t want any of them to know about my condition. I didn’t want them to worry so much about me.We were like a family. Any
15Nicholas RussellThe Doctor removed his glasses, standing up and walking towards me to place a hand on my shoulder.“…After that,” he continued. “A section of her skull will be removed to access her brain underneath and get to the tumor. Typically, it takes 6 hours to complete and there are risks but in Miss Emma’s case, a skilled neurosurgeon will be performing the surgery due to the complexity and number of years we had to wait for it. It will therefore reduce the possibility of bleeding, infection or any loss of mental functions but we will have to dissuade the use of anesthesia so it’s completely favorable.”“Anesthesia? Isn’t that to relieve pains and induce sleep?”“Yes... but,”I stared at him in disbelief as he said those words, with an apologetic expression. It meant she will have to go through pain. The thought irked me. I wished I could do something.“Impossible!”I banged my hand on the table angrily, staring at the Doctor. Brain tumor? Smears of tears covered my eyes.
14Nicholas RussellI moved nearer to her with a smirk on my lips.Staring at me like she was astonished on spot, she took a step back but I was quick. My hands snaked around her waist, stabilizing her from falling in tune with the pink flats she was wearing.“Y-You want me to kiss me or it?”She said, referring to the gift only for me to remove the white thread that was sitting on her gorgeous dark hair.“Neither of the above,” I brought the strand to her attention, only for her cheeks to redden. They were pink and had this rosy essence that made me chuckle slightly.“Oh... that, thanks for helping with that.”“Yep.”I muttered, taking steps away from her.“I have to go- I mean we have to go now,” she said, rushing ahead to the rehearsal room’s direction. I went after her that minute.“What now?”The character, acting Declan in Romancing a Spinser muttered in an angry tone. “You’ve been away for the past three months, then you finally show up, city girl? Why... why are you here, I wa
13Nicholas RussellI held the script for the next part of Romancing a Spinster in my hands, studying it carefully and re-reading the roles to be played. I desired to know what else Emma was going to act with the lead actor. Not that I hadn’t gone through it in the past. I forgot some basic parts but knowing this was a romantic tale, there was this withheld anger in my chest. Yes, I never let anything get in the way of me making money. The business was never mixed with pleasure. But Emma made me want to break that fucking rule.“Sir, the lighting and stage preparation has been made for the choreography. The female lead isn’t here, yet, however.”“She isn’t?” I wriggled my brows, asking my assistant who nodded his head.“Ah, I see,”I folded my hands wondering what she was trying to pull this time. “Let me try reaching her. Inform the team of the situation.”“Okay, sir.”As he walked away, my brows furrowed at what she was trying to pull this time.Wasn’t she aware of today? This woman
