The Future

Xander's POV

Cassie has been my mate for ten years now.  She has bore me ten kids.  All boys except for our youngest pup.  She is now six months old.  All of her brothers are just so happy to have her as their sister.  The pack has chosen Marcus to be the future alpha.  Cassie is pregnant for the seventh time.  She is having twins.  In the order of eldest to youngest, we have Levi, Marcus, and Jackson as our triplets.  We had a single pup named Leonardo.  Then we had twins Matthew and Kenny.  Another single pup Lenny.  Our youngest two sons are Samson and Nathan.  Then our one and only daughter Ashleigh.  We don't know yet if we are having one, two, or three pups or what the genders are.  

I find it great to have an Omega as a mate.  Normally when a she-wolf becomes pregnant she either has one pup or two pups.  Omegas can have multiple pups in one pregnancy.  Cassie is currently two and a half months pregnant and due any time.  After missing the birth of my first three pups I have insisted on remaining by Cassie's side when she is this pregnant with all her other pregnancies.

"Xander wake up I think I am in labor,"  Cassie said as she shook me awake.

"Alright.  Let's go to the hospital."  I replied as I jumped out of the bed and rushed over to her side of the bed.  Oh yeah after the birth of our triplets I had Cassie move into my bed.  I was after all madly in love with my beautiful mate.  I rushed us to the hospital.  We had gotten to the hospital in time.  Dr. Brett said that had we taken a minute longer Cassie would have given birth to our pups in the car.  This time she had three daughters.  I always let Cassie name our pups.  She is after all the one who is pregnant with them and the one who has to give birth to them.

"What are we going to name these pups?"  I asked.

"Bethany, Lola, and Tina,"  Cassie said as she held our new daughter.  

"Those are perfect names for these beauties,"  I said.  I was terrified right now because a new Omega scent had crossed my nose.  One of my new pups was an Omega.  I didn't like this because this is why I attempted to reject Cassie as my mate.  I knew that an Omega passes on the Omega gene to at least one of their daughters.  I didn't know how I was going to choose whether one of my daughters was a breeder or a slave to the pack.  Either way, it is a terrible fate.  One the she-wolf practically gets raped every day by different warriors and the other she gets abused.  I couldn’t put one of my daughters through that trauma.

The last time an Alpha's daughter was born an Omega he gave her up as a pup to a neighboring pack to be raised.  Her new alpha chose which Omega she was.  This was going to be hard.  "Cassie, Tina is an Omega."  I blurted out as I looked at my smallest daughter.

"What does that mean?"  She said as a tear started to escape her eye.  I knew that she already knew what I was about to say.

"I have to find another pack for her to go to,"  I answered as my tears began to fall.

"No!  Please don't do this.  She can grow up and you can tell the pack that she may be an Omega but she is the daughter of their alpha and they are to respect her as such.  Please."  Cassie said as she began to beg.

"Cassie I am sorry.  I can't do that.  Besides when she is seventeen Marcus will be alpha and it would be him who would have to make that decision."  I said as I watched my mate begin to sob as she brought our daughter closer to her chest.  After a moment she looked up at me and nodded.  I took our daughter to my office to contact all of the pack alphas near us.  I was left with just one.  Alpha Leo.  I dreaded giving him my daughter.  I hoped he would say he had no warriors looking for a pup to raise.

"Alpha Xander what can I do for you?" Alpha Leo said from the other end of the line.

"I have a daughter who was just born and she is an Omega.  I was wondering if you had any warrior who wanted a pup to raise?"  I said as I felt my heart pounding.

"I do.  My beta and his mate have been trying for another pup for three years now.  I will come and pick her up."  Alpha Leo said just before the line ended.
