I walked backward when Sarah stood at the open door, blocking the entrance.

I kept stumbling back, even though she didn’t move an inch.

Gahiji, the leader of the order squad, quirked a brow and I growled silently.

This was so humiliating but I can’t take any chance.

Sarah was reeking of her heat pheromones still, and tonight was the blood moon, double the threat.

 If I took one whiff of her, I will do something that I would regret later.

“Sarah, what are you doing here? We will meet tonight at the ball, you know that.”

I cursed when I hit dead end aka the wall, and there was nowhere to go. Sarah narrowed her eyes, then licked her lips.

I shivered. Goddess, help me, I must fight this. I have consumed so much of that concoction Augusts made to numb the beast, but now I can feel
