SERENA’s POV

His smile faded and he sighed heavily,dropping his gaze. "I was an idiot, Serena. If I could take it all back, I would. I never meant to hurt you."

My head spun slightly from the wine. All I knew was I missed this - missed him. Acting on impulse, I grabbed his face and pulled him into a kiss.

His arms wrapped around me protectively as he responded hungrily, deepening it.

But then the tequila shots from earlier began to hit me in a dizzying wave. I pulled back breathlessly. "I-I think I need some air."

Cameron steadied me gently. "Let's get you to the bathroom to wash up, you'll feel better."

The ensuite was as luxurious as the rest of the boat, with marble tiles, a soaking tub, glass showers,double vanities.

Cameron wet a fluffy towel under the tap. "Here, wipe your face."

I did as he suggested, splashing cool water on my flushed skin too. It helped ground me a little, though my thoughts remained in a fuzzy haze. He assessed me with a concerned gaze.
