Kyra’s POV

“Don’t you dare pretend like you have no idea what happened!” Roderick growled, his temper rising beyond what I expected. His body shook violently from exhaustion, yet his fury burned even deeper than his wounds.

I pressed my back against one of the trees, arms folded tight as I waited for him to calm. The memories of what just transpired with the beast were still fresh in my head.

“What are you even talking about?” Norway’s voice cut through loudly, yet calm. Moonlight drew lines on his face, filled with an unknown expression. “If you’re in any way implying that I lured the monster into coming here, then you’re more paranoid than I ever imagined.”

“Did you just say paranoid?” Roderick snarled, already attempting to stand on his feet but the pain didn't allow him to. “You showed up just at the perfect time. Too perfect to be a coincidence. Always pretending to be the saviour, while you’re the one who set the trap to begin with.”

Norway smirked as he spoke, clearly enjoying

Kyra’s POV“Kyra, maybe you should consider lying down a little bit,” Sarah whispered, her hands on my shoulders, massaging them softly to help ease the tension on my shoulders.I forced a smile to keep her from worrying too much. “I’m totally fine, Sarah.” I said turning around to face her. But that was a lie that couldn’t be hidden anywhere. My pulse kept increasing non-stop, my wolf was unable to stay calm, pacing viciously within me, boiling up from the confrontation I’d just had with Sophia coupled with her evil intentions for me. Sarah bowed, though she hesitated.“I will go out now to allow you to rest a little, you really need it.” She left, making sure to shut the door gently behind her.The moment she left, everywhere became quiet again. But the only thing that refused to calm down was my heart which is beating rapidly.Inside, I kept hearing the replay of Sophia’s venomous voice, her words refusing to leave my head no matter how hard I tried to make it stop. She will defin

  • Caught In Between Two Alphas   Chapter 97: Playing Dirty

Kyra’s POV Sophia immediately scrambled to her feet, her eyes glowing with fear. But even in that state, she still had the guts to point her fingers at me.“You think you’ve finally grown wings to treat me this way? Me? You don’t even care about your already ruined reputation. How the whole Pack is buzzing with the news of your slutful behaviour in the halls?”My eyes sharpened as she spoke, shocked that she still had the nerve to talk.“So… after everything, you still have the energy to call me names—worse than what you already said before?”Sophia smirked at my reaction. She noticed how much it moved me, how I reacted the moment she called me names worse than before.“Yes. That’s the news spreading throughout the Pack right now. How you cheaply spread your legs wide open for Norway. From the servants to the guards. And worst of all, you’re already on the bad books of the council members.”As she spoke, I told myself I wouldn’t be moved, but even at that, my chest twisted painfully.

Kyra’s POV“At this point, I care less about what anyone has to say!”Sarah paced around in front of me, pleading for me to heed her advice.“Just stay inside for now, Kyra, please. Everywhere is too tense for you to be wandering around. Let things settle before you visit any part of the palace.”I sat down quietly, my posture stiff, but my thoughts were running wild.“I don’t remember asking for your opinion, Sarah,” I muttered, shocking her. “All I asked was for a glass of water to calm my mind.”“Luna Kyra…”“Sarah,” I snapped. “I don’t need anything else. Just water. Nothing more please!”She swallowed hard and hurried off to attend to me without wasting any more time.Once she left, the room fell silent—too silent for a place inhabited by living beings. For no reason, Roderick’s scent still lingered, but Norway’s was stronger, clinging to me—a reminder of what happened. I couldn’t stand boldly to call what happened a mistake or manipulation. Then, suddenly, the door flung open wi

Roderick’s POV“Then, what exactly am I supposed to do at this point? Who should I choose, considering what just happened?” Kyra asked, her voice trembling. My world shatters at the possible answer to her question. Will she root for me or her gentle and kind Norway?Sarah sighed, and at that moment, I knew whatever came out of her mouth wouldn’t be favourable to me.“I would advise you to follow the one who sees you for who you are, not the one who owns you.”Then followed a deafening silence—the kind that said a lot more than words.I could literally hear my heartbeat pounding so vigorously that my eardrums almost blocked. I quietly retreated down the corridor before either of them noticed my presence or before I changed my mind and did something I would regret later. Each step I took from there felt heavier than the last. By the time I reached the stairway, I noticed I was shaking—not my whole body, but my hands. It wasn’t from weakness, for I can never be weak, but from internal r

  • Caught In Between Two Alphas   Chapter 94: A Heart And The Victim

Roderick’s POV“Do you think he’ll ever forgive me?” I overheard her asking.Even from where I stood behind the stone pillar, I couldn’t help but listen to her melodious voice.Kyra. She would be the death of me.I had left my chamber and came here because I needed to talk to her. I wanted answers—to understand why she disgraced and humiliated me like that in my Pack. It’s still funny how calm I have been ever since the incident, how I haven’t ordered her to be hanged, making most Pack members wonder if it’s still their Alpha, or if another soul has taken over my body. The old Roderick, the devil Alpha would never have considered calmness an option. That would have classified me as one of those weak Alphas—those who don’t have power and strength in their Pack, who were moved by their emotions. As I got close to her chamber, instead of going inside as I initially planned, I decided to stand outside and eavesdrop on her conversation with Sarah, the maid.Inside her chamber, Sarah’s voic

  • Caught In Between Two Alphas   Chapter 93: Confused Misconduct

Kyra’s POVTears streamed down my cheeks from the corner of my eyes. I had no excuse, not even an explanation that would make sense for why I did what I did. Not even to myself, let alone anyone else.I had spent a long time trying to determine which of the brothers was trustworthy. But maybe the truth came out crueller than I imagined. Maybe I was even unable to trust myself. The thought alone kept ringing in my head, pushing me to the edge of screaming. Maybe that would help release the stress inside me.“What exactly have I done to myself?” I whispered to the empty room.I stayed there on the ground for hours, doing nothing but staring into space. I was trying my best to put the pieces together of everything that had happened, hoping to remember who I was before entering this mess.I heard soft footsteps near the door, then a voice followed. “My Lady? Are you awake?”“Yes,” I replied simply. With that, the door opened, and a servant, whom I realised was new, peeked in and bowed.“A
