“Are you nervous?” Lucas asked as we walked towards the venue, his hand on my lower back.

I took a sharp breath, my heart racing in my chest.

This would be the first time I would be physically presenting myself as the chairwoman of the Adams Group.

I had stepped aside and let others run my father’s company, but not anymore.

If I want to do something, the best thing to do is to do it myself.

No one can take care of my property better than I can.

A few days ago, I had met with the shareholders that Carla had managed to bring to our side.

On Monday, we shall hold our first meeting at the company with me heading it.

A smirk played on my lips. I looked at Lucas, nodding, “With you by my side, I have nothing to fear.”

Lucas gave me a warm smile, his hand on my back making me feel safe.
