CHAPTER 22: A little task

SCARLETT'S POV

I took the stairs up to my room and on getting there, I paused on noticing the slightly opened door. Didn't I lock the door before leaving? I mused. Shrugging slightly, I stride in and made the way straight to my bed. It's been a really long day.

Some moments later, I was smiling over the comments I saw on social media about my interview. Many people were already curious about me_how I happened to be alive, or what happened to my mother, why I didn't show up in the city all this while since I was never dead as the country had speculated. Why I didn't bother saying something concerning the rumors about my mother and her best friend, why I announced myself as a legitimate daughter...and so on.

However, it wasn't the right time to let everything out. I'm just arriving. They should watch my moves.

Picking up my purse, I retrieved mother's diary and smiled.
