" A child you say?"
" Yes, I think a child would put an ultimate end to his debauchery. You should seriously think about it, my child."
Alexandrine sighed deeply and said to Johnson's grandmother in a rather sad tone, " I know you're very hopeful about this relationship but I don't think a child will make things any easier between us." Alexandrine uttered. " On the contrary, if we had a child, that poor soul would be nothing more than a bargaining chip between the two of us. I don't want Johnson to be obligated to stay with me just because I'll be having his child."
" What's the need to stay with me if there are no feelings attached; I don’t want that kind of life and neither do I want my child to have such a sad and unfulfilled life."
Alexandrine was feeling deeply hurt with each word pronounced. The grandmother could feel through her words how deeply hurt and shattered she was about her grandson.
" It's okay, grandmother. I'll be alright and I think you should let Johnson live the life he always wanted." Alexandrine sighs sadly. " If Tina happens to be the love of his life, then let it be."
In the meantime, Johnson was in a club with a friend.
" Johnson, why are you here instead of being home and accompanying your wife?" Johnson's friend asked him frantically. Johnson drunkenly answered, " Lovely? What are you talking about? Do you even hear yourself?"
" My wife is not lovely; She's insufferable; all she wants is to get rid of me so that she can go back to her boyfriend." Johnson drank even more.
" Boyfriend?" The friend had a hard time believing what his drunkard friend was telling him as it was obvious to him he was mistaken.
" Alexandrine doesn't love me; She never did and that’s why she didn't hesitate before signing the divorce papers." Johnson's face fell flat on the table.
" Johnson, wake up!" His friend tried waking him up but in vain. As he couldn't wake him up, he thought of calling someone to come fetch him. Glancing through his contacts, he stumbled upon his wife's number and glanced at it for a minute before finally pressing it and launching the call.
Meanwhile, in Johnson's apartment, Alexandrine went back to packing her clothes to leave her husband's apartment. Remembering, again and again, her husband’s indifference toward her, she convinces herself of the painful fact that he didn’t love her even a little and never will in the end.
" Leaving this fairy tale would be for the best." Alexandrine got an unexpected phone call from her husband’s number. She hesitated before picking up the call.
" Why are you calling me Johnson?" Alexandrine acted rather coldly toward the one she apprehended to be her husband.
" Are you Alexandrine?" Alexandrine was stunned as the one on the phone wasn't her husband but it was without a doubt his number.
" Who are you and why do you have Johnson's phone?" She was about to say 'husband' but changed it at the last minute.
" I'm one of Johnson's friends and the reason I'm calling is because he's unable to do it." The friend's last sentence confused Alexandrine.
" Unable to do it? What do you mean?"
" He's at a club and he's wasted. I called for you so you could come to pick him up." The friend explained the situation to Johnson's wife.
Alexandrine was just about to go down there and have him picked up but as she remembered how Johnson left with Tina while tangling, a sudden anger took over her and she told Johnson's friend out of nowhere, " Mister, I think you got the wrong person here. Goodbye!"
Before Alexandrine had the chance to hang up the call, Johnson's friend asked her on a whim, " How could I have gotten the wrong person?" Aren't you Johnson's wife? Did I get that wrong?"
Alexandrine regained her composure a little before answering the latter's question. " No, you didn't get it wrong, but I'm not the one you should have called."
Johnson's friend asked Alexandrine hypothetically, " Who should I have called then, if not you?"
" You're his friend, are you not?" Alexandrine gasped before continuing. " Tina is your friend's beloved sweetheart whom he loves more than anyone and anything, so do something and call her. Your friend will be delighted if she was the one to come pick him up."
Alexandrine was ready to hang up the call now, but Johnson's friend wasn't quite done with her.
" You're amazing, Alexandrine." The latter was stunned by his sudden compliment. Although it looked like a compliment. It wasn't in the end.
" You're the wife every man wishes to have." Alexandrine felt this awkwardness through his words. " After all, not everyone would be able to tolerate and accept their husband’s cheating like you; that’s why you're amazing. If I had one with me, I'd probably give you an Oscar for your performance."
Johnson's friend's words tore the latter to pieces. What was he saying? How could he be so disrespectful? Alexandrine was so hurt by the latter's words that she wanted nothing more but to let out her pain, but more than anything, she had some scores to settle.
" Who do you think you are speaking to me like that?" Alexandrine lashed at Johnson's friend. " Do you even know me and what I've been going through?" Johnson's friend could feel Alexandrine's anger but more than that, he could feel her pain through the phone even though he couldn't see her face.
" You should come to pick up Johnson as soon as possible; The Club will be closing in a few." Johnson's friend's tone changed slightly. Both of them hung up the phone from their respective locations.
It didn't take long for Alexandrine to reach the club with the address she had been given. Once there, she didn't find her husband’s friend anywhere.
" You're strong and brave for tolerating how he's treating you without a word." Johnson's friend was hidden in a corner watching the two, especially Alexandrine as she was taking Johnson away.
Once home, Alexandrine laid her husband on the bed and went to fetch a cloth and some water to wipe the alcohol off of him.
She unbuttoned his shirt and pants, took the drenched cloth, and started cleaning his body all over. Starting from his face to his throat and moving further down arose Johnson who suddenly woke up in the action.
Without a word and taking the latter by surprise, Johnson flipped their positions and Alexandrine was now under him with himself being on top.
Sneerely, he asked Alexandrine, " What were you doing just now, or rather I should be asking, What were you trying to do to me as I was unconscious and defenseless?"
" What were you trying to do to me as I was unconscious and defenseless?" Johnson looked at Alexandrine with deep desire burning in his eyes. Alexandrine tried to get him to move, but he was too strong for her." You like playing with fire, don't you?" Johnson muttered as he placed a kiss between Alexandrine's neck. The latter froze to the touch." Why is he doing this to me when he doesn't even love me or have any truest feelings toward me?" As he kept kissing her more and more down the line, Alexandrine became confused as to her husband’s intentions and aims.In the middle of their passionate night, Johnson muttered out of the blue, " You're a liar and a betrayer. Why did you betray me like this? Why? Why?"" Betrayal? Lies?" What is he talking about?" Alexandrine was confused and tried to understand her husband’s allegations." What are you talking about, Johnson?" She tried to get the truth out of her husband’s mouth. " When have I betrayed you?" She asked him repeatedly.Johnson
Tina was still crying right in front of me as she tangled with me, I didn't push her away as I was expecting Alexandrine to react to the situation and take her ground, but nothing like that happened." Come down for breakfast as soon as you can." Without giving a damn about the current situation, she walked out of the bedroom and shut the door behind her." Why is she reacting like that after everything that happened between us last night?" I subconsciously wondered as I recollected yesterday's events and how Alexandrine felt good and secured in my arms.Feeling angry due to Alexandrine indifferent behavior, I grabbed Tina by the hand and as I pulled her through to me, I kissed her fiercely. Tina and I enjoyed the kiss until I didn't want it anymore.Tina, thinking I had forgotten everything that had occurred the previous night, was taken aback when I suddenly pushed her away from me and said coldly, " Why did you show up at my house after last night's show?"I was angry and I wasn't
Happy that Tina had finally gone home, Johnson thought he and Alexandrine would enjoy a romantic breakfast together like they used to.“ Aren’t you going to have breakfast?” Johnson asked his wife, who replied, “ I’m not hungry, Johnson, but don’t mind me and eat your fill.Alexandrine’s tone toward her husband was cold and indifferent. Johnson felt hurt for some reason but didn’t say a thing. After finishing his breakfast, Johnson wanted to kiss his wife before going to work, but Alexandrine avoided it, saying she had some stuff to tend to, and left. Johnson left the house in anger but Alexandrine didn’t let that affect her in the slightest.“ I’m sorry, Johnson, but I can’t allow you to continue humiliating me like this.” Alexandrine subconsciously thought after Johnson left for work.As she finished everything she had to do in the house, Alexandrine left for her parents' house to seek some advice. It had been a long time since Alexandrine’s mom saw her daughter ever since she got m
Before Alexandrine’s phone call, I was lashing at the department manager for doing a sloppy job on the reports, “ Do them over!”“ Yes, president.” The department manager nodded. He grabbed the reports and looked at them in despair. Just imagining how he had to redo everything from scratch just because I wasn’t satisfied with the contents, he got all sad and that’s about when Alexandrine called me.“ What do you want and why are you annoying me while I’m so busy?” The department manager must have thought as he saw me speaking so disrespectfully to my wife how I was being unfair to her and how she didn’t deserve it, but he would never say so in my face.“ Don’t forget to eat when you’re done with your work, please!” Just hearing her voice through the phone and her ordering me around annoyed me even more. The department manager was pretending to look at his reports, so I wouldn’t suspect him of anything.“ Instead of uttering such nonsense, you should hurry home.” As my conversation wit
The night was long and when morning came, my husband, Johnson was sleeping next to me as dazzling as ever. He was so handsome when he was asleep, I subconsciously thought as my hands ran through his seemingly handsome face.“ What should I do so that you’ll stay with me, my beloved?” I muttered as I kept watching him sleep. I knew deep down that we couldn’t be together but after that passionate and hot night we had, I was hoping for a miracle to occur, a miracle that would fix all the holes in our relationship and get it back afloat. As I went to take a shower, I subconsciously thought how wonderful it would have been if Tina had never been a part of our lives, how wonderful it would have been if she had never met Johnson, and how wonderful it would have been if Johnson had never fallen for her.“ How wonderful would it have been if I had been the one who met you first?” Through the dripping water, I was crying like a child to whom one has taken a toy away.” How wonderful would it hav
Johnson left for work in anger that day. Alexandrine tended to the dishes and when she thought she would have a break from all that work, she received an unexpected call from someone unpleasant.“ What do you want, Ms. Tina?” Alexandrine muttered sarcastically through the phone to her interlocutor. It was a displeasure and a hard blow to receive a phone call from her rival in love.“ Alexandrine, I want to make peace with you, so could you meet me?” Let’s start over from scratch!” Tina acted as meekly as possible through the phone. Alexandrine could feel her blood boiling from inside.“ Make peace with me, my foot.” As if I don’t know the reason you’ve called for me today of all days, Tina.” Alexandrine subconsciously thought. She wanted to dismiss Tina this instant, but she knew deep down, it wouldn’t solve anything; She would keep coming on to her until she got what she wanted which would be tiring and endless for Alexandrine. Why go through all that trouble when all could be solved
" Tina?"Alexandrine panicked as she tried to collect herself. " Knowing Johnson. He will blame me for this for sure." She subconsciously thought." What should I do?" The ambulance will take time to get here." She subconsciously thought." Tina, what happened?" Why have you suddenly stopped talking?"" Johnson?"Realizing Johnson was still connected to the call, she grabbed the phone next to Tina." Hello, Johnson!" She uttered to her husband asking, " Why do you have Tina's phone? Why isn't she the one answering it?"Alexandrine hesitated before forwarding to her husband, " Tina got into a car accident, Johnson." Alexandrine could feel her husband freeze in place as she announced the news to him." An accident?"Alexandrine narrated to Johnson how the accident took place and what the latter was doing at that time. As soon as she finished narrating, Johnson hung up the call abruptly." I should have someone drive us to the hospital" By the time the ambulance gets here, it might alrea
By staring at the dripping rain through the window, Alexandrine remembered an incident that occurred in the past, when she had just gotten married to Johnson, her husband. That day, it was raining heavily and Johnson was working on his computer in the room. It was raining so much that it started thundering. To protect herself from the thunder and not disrupt Johnson's work, she hid under the covers, waiting for the thunder to pass." What's wrong, Alexandrine?" Is everything okay?" He asked his wife who responded that everything was fine. When another thunder relented and Alexandrine felt agitated under the covers, Johnson finally grasped why his wife had hidden under the covers.Standing up from the chair and coming toward the bed and sitting beside his wife, he slowly removed the covers from her and saw his wife's eyes on the verge of tears. By the time the whole cover was removed, another thunder relented and this time, Alexandrine jumped into Johnson's arms for protection from the
