Serena's POV

Damien chuckled in disbelief. "The minister of Justice has been avoiding me for a long time, and now he just pops up with a demand not to represent a client?" he said, "Are you sure it's him?"

"Yes sir," the secretary responded.

Damien turned to me. "Is the minister of defense your husband? His son, maybe?" he asked.

I shook my head dismissively. "I have never seen the minister of justice in person," I replied, "I have no connection to him."

"I'm as stunned as you are about the whole issue," I added.

Could this be the reason why my lawyer called me earlier, and told me he was pulling out of my case?

I didn't think Alex was this vile, no he wouldn't.

His father on the other hand, there's no doubt, he is responsible for this.

"Please, get the minister of justice on the phone again," he ordered, "I'm confused."

"I'd do that right away sir, and forward the call to you when he responds," she replied and walked out of the office.
