Shelly's POV

The scary Alpha keeps popping up everywhere. My heart was at ease at the sight of Mellisa.

“Are you okay?” She asked me, with eyes filled with concern.

I shook my head at this. “He's….”

I turned to check if he was still following me but I realized that no one was there.

“Calm down, Shelly. Tell me what's wrong.”

“Can we go somewhere else?”

“Sure, I was heading to my pack quarters to get lunch and just chill out. We can talk in my room so that you'd be comfortable.” She said, staring at me with a look I can't decipher.

She makes me feel safe, like I can trust her. I'm carrying so much burden but have had no one to share.

Maybe coming along will make me feel better.

“Sure, I won't mind that.” I answered, she held my hands in hers and gave me a firm squeeze.

Mellisa's POV My heart felt so heavy at the news Aiden just informed me, hopefully we get done with the conference soon.I was by a balcony watching the beautiful clouds when he informed me about the happenings. “Adam? Where are you? I have something to tell you.” I hated to talk to him now but it's for Cheryl she always had my back even when no one did.“I'm in the sitting room.” He said simply.“Okay.” I turned swiftly and began walking towards the quarters. “You know what, Cheryl is awake but in bad condition.”“What? How bad?”“Really bad, she lost her memories completely.”“I feel so horrible from being absent.”“That's not all.”He heaved a sigh in exhaustion. “What else?”“She lost her wolf.”“We need to leave as soon as possible.” He said with pain in his voice. “Something isn't right with the atmosphere. I smell death and dark magic.” Dreca said, stopping me in my tracks.“I'll talk to you later.” I told Adam shutting down the mindlink.“Who would be dumb enough to do that

Aiden's POV I'm in my office pondering upon what is happening in the pack. Something isn't right, my heart isn't at peace. Cheryl's poisoning is making my head spin so fast.Everything is right beneath our noses but somehow I can't figure it out. I miss Mellisa and Fred so much, we always figure things out together. A loud knock pulled me from my thoughts.“Come in.” I answered with a loud voice. The door pushed open and the sweet scent of my mate, Ariel, filled my nostrils. Her perfectly manicured feet stepped in. “Hi babe, I've missed you much. No we've missed you.” She said with a smile laying on her lips.“Come here,” I gestured towards her opening my arms and pushing away from the table so she could sit on my laps.As soon as she got close enough, I pulled her to my laps inhaling her hair for some minutes. “Didn't you miss us?” She asked with her beautiful doe eyes.“I did babe, I'm just trying to hold the pack down. You know a whole lot has been happening since Mellisa left.

Unknown POV I was staring out the window with a longing look in my eyes. My Beta was staring at me thoughtfully.“You're staring, Why?” I said to him without sparing him a glance. “Nothing, Alpha. I apologise.” He aid averting his gaze.“I want that Luna, what's her name again Shelly. She reminds me of someone, I want her.”“What about your Luna, this might not end well.”I heaved a sigh, something at the back of my head longs for her. “I know, the last time that bitch almost threw it in my face.”“She's your mate Alpha. It's expected for her to want you completely to herself and no one else.”“You're the one who gives a hoot about love and all of that, women are tools to be used for nothing else. They serve their purpose silently.”He heaved a sigh, obviously frustrated and trying to pass his point.“I know Alpha but this one is a dangerous game she belongs to another Alpha.”I growled harshly, hitting my fist against the drawer next to me. My Beta didn't look startled at all. In

He was silent.“Aiden?” I called out, nudging his mind more.“Y…yes.” He finally answered but groggily, like he had acted sleeping.“Why are you sleeping by this time?” I asked in irritation. He was silent for a short while. “It's eleven pm for crying out loud. What's wrong?” “It's Cheryl, something isn't right with her. She was about to tell me something and she seemed agitated but suddenly went silent. It felt as as if she's dying.”“What!” He rarefied through the mindlink. “Please check her, something feels gravely wrong. I need to know that she is safe.”“I'm on it.” He cut the mindlink off and I heaved a slight sigh of relief.“I know you don't want to speak to me but something us wrong with one of my pack mem

Everything from my past came rushing back to me.I couldn't stay in the same space with Adam because the pain of what he did was fresh again.“Mel, what's wrong?” Fred's concerned voice resounded behind me.“It's nothing.” I said forcing a smile on my face.“I knowits something, after you were done with the girls your demeanour seemed to dampen. Tell me what's wrong?”I heaved a sigh, I knew that he wouldn't let me be so I had to speak up.“I'm feeling so hurt, Freddie.” I said tears threatening to spill from my eyes.“Why? What happened?”“Adam, we talked about him with the girls.
