Mellisa's POV

Aiden gave me a look of confusion and shook his head. “No I think it's a mistake, it can't be her. Don't you dare speak badly of my mate. It cannot be her.”

I looked at him with a sad look. “That's what I saw. I spoke with Elder Thomas and realized that he was pretending to be with the rogues. He never got to meet with the real culprit but got some good information. He figured out that she noticed his inconsistencies and roped him in to be the culprit.”

“No! I won't take it, Mellisa. She is my mate, I won't leave her based on an accusation that has no evidence like how your mate did.”

I felt like multiple knives stabbed my chest. I know he is talking out of pain but it doesn't make it any less painful.

“Both of you need to calm down.” Fred finally spoke up. His eyes held fury and pain.

“Aiden! Mellisa! We need your help. Some rogues attacked us at the house.” Aiden's father shouted through the mindlink.
