MASON’S POV

Between endless meetings with designers, suppliers, and coordinating closely with Blackwood PR, my days had once again become a blur of deadlines, emails, and phone calls. Eating and showering were nothing more than obligations, moments I forced myself in to simply to stay alive.

Some nights, I slept in my office under the table.

It reminded me so vividly of those early days when I first built Eternity.

The sleepless nights, endless coffees, skipping meals—nothing else had mattered but the company. Nothing except building a legacy so strong, so impenetrable, that no one could take it away from me.

No one but myself.

Because in those same days, in my obsession, I’d sacrificed Florence. My negligence and lack of appreciation had pushed her away.

I shook my head, determinedly forcing her image from my mind.

If I wanted Florence back—and I did—I needed to rebuild Eternity first. She deserved more than a crumbling mess. She deserved stability, happiness, and a partner who v

  • Chasing My Innocent Ex-wife Back   Chapter 148

DANIEL’S POVThe phone call came in just after noon. I was at work, sitting in my office, which I liked to keep dark. The screen lit up the room, casting a ghostly glow across everything. I hesitated before answering, feeling an odd dread twist inside my chest.“Daniel,” Jade’s voice trembled, broken and uneven. “Something terrible happened.”My heart instantly quickened. I had instructed Jade not to call unless she was in real danger. And she had obeyed this far. Which meant… “What is it?” I snapped, irritation masking my fear.“There was a shootout,” she whispered, her voice cracking. “They found the villa. Howard’s men—they—they came looking for me, and—”“Get to the point, Jade!” I barked, anger flaring to hide the dread building inside me.She inhaled sharply, as if every breath hurt. “Your mother… Daniel, she’s gone. She got caught in the crossfire. She—”I didn’t hear another word. Her voice faded into nothingness, replaced by a ringing in my ears. The phone slipped from

MASON’S POVThe house had transformed overnight. It was no longer the silent mansion I’d grown up in, but a fortress. Guards stood at every corner, staring silently ahead, alert and wary. Our once-beautiful windows were now shielded with heavy curtains, permanently drawn shut. The sunny corridors had become dark tunnels, echoing with tension.Every new day seemed to bring another disaster—another scandal, another leaked secret, another humiliation splashed across every screen and newspaper in town. My father’s name had become synonymous with scandal, fraud, and betrayal. But what seemed to cut him deepest was that my mother’s obsession with Aliston Hart was now the favorite topic of gossip.I found him pacing back and forth in the living room. His hands were clasped behind his back, knuckles white, face etched with stress and fury. My mother sat silently in the corner, holding a glass of wine she’d barely touched. Clarke was standing at the far end of the room, his arms folded acr

JADE’S POVI didn’t know how many days had passed. When Daniel first told me he’d take care of my safety, I imagined another grim warehouse with cracked floors and cold concrete walls—more damp corners and creaky metal doors. But this place was nothing like that. This was a villa—a real one, hidden somewhere in the hills far outside town, surrounded by endless greenery, tall hedges, and gardens filled with roses that must have had their own gardener tending to them daily. There were marble floors polished so perfectly that I could see my reflection clearly each time I walked from one lavish room to another.Still, despite the luxury, I couldn’t shake the sickening unease that had settled in my stomach from the moment I’d arrived. Daniel hadn’t been lying when he said I was in danger. I knew there was a manhunt for me, and the Whitehills weren’t the kind of people who left loose ends untied.Every noise in the villa made me jump. Every shadow cast by the evening sun made my heart po

FLORENCE’S POV“That’s impossible,” I said. I hoped Daniel couldn’t see how shaken I was. It was absurd. Why would Serena sabotage her future family’s empire?“Impossible?” Daniel echoed with a sarcastic twist in his voice. “Why?”“Because it makes no sense,” I replied firmly. “What interest would Serena have in exposing the Whitehills’ failures? She’s about to marry into their fortune, their name—why ruin that?”Daniel leaned back comfortably in the chair, his eyes dancing with amusement, clearly enjoying my confusion.“Oh, Florence…” he drawled slowly, savoring every word. “You’re overthinking it. Sometimes, love is love!”I laughed out loud, incredulous. “Love? Are you seriously trying to convince me Serena Montclair is in love with Jason?”“You know about their affair, don’t you?” Daniel asked casually, as if we were discussing the weather.I shook my head. “Please. Jason is just a young boy with a crush, and Serena enjoys playing power games. That’s not love.”He cocked his head

FLORENCE’S POVI stared at the screen in front of me, watching the cursor blink relentlessly. I had been sitting here for over two hours, and yet, not a single email had left my inbox. Not one reply typed. Every word seemed to slip through my fingers, evaporating into nothingness before it could form a coherent sentence. The office buzzed gently around me—the comforting hum of the air conditioning, the distant murmur of conversations, the occasional laughter floating down the hallways. But it all felt muffled. Distant. Irrelevant. I couldn’t latch onto any of it, and my thoughts refused to cooperate.Every time I tried to focus, my mind drifted right back to my father, the haunted look in his eyes as he told me the truth, his frail voice echoing in my memory. Melissa Whitehill, the woman I’d once dismissed as just another superficial, status-driven socialite, had single-handedly orchestrated my family’s ruin. And yet, even knowing the truth, nothing felt resolved. It only left

  • Chasing My Innocent Ex-wife Back   Chapter 143

MASON’S POVDaniel strode through the front doors as though he owned them. His shoulders were pulled back, chin raised just high enough to show us all he’d never once looked up at another person in his life. The four men flanking him—huge, stone-faced, silent—moved in perfect sync, and suddenly our spacious foyer felt crowded. Suffocating. My father’s face turned pale—ghost-white, as if he’d just been punched in the gut. Beside him, my mother collapsed onto the couch like her knees had given way.“Dad?” Clarke muttered, the question hanging in the air like smoke. The silence was deafening. My father’s chest rose and fell rapidly. I watched his hands curl into fists, knuckles white as he clenched and unclenched them repeatedly.“Daniel,” he finally said, voice tight. “You don’t belong here.”Daniel’s smile didn’t waver. He didn’t even blink.“Funny, Howard,” Daniel replied, intentionally using my father’s first name with the sharpness of a blade. “I don’t recall you being particularl
