Chapter 21: A bond for a lifetime

Clarissa's P.O.V.

Alyssa's sleek, black car pulled into the driveway slowly before coming to a stop. It only took a moment for the front door to fly open and my eyes to look into the mesmerizing brown of Antonio's.

His breaths came in heavy as I watched the rise and fall of his chest. The feeling of his anger and concern came rolling off him in waves.

"Miss me?" I said with a smile as I stood waiting for his reaction.

There was no doubt that he was contemplating his next move as he tried to decide what to do. Antonio did not take kindly to people disobeying him, from what I could tell. However, his questionable look and persistent staring were making me uncomfortable.

Taking slow steps, I attempted to move past him into the house.

However, Antonio's hand reached out, gripping my arm, halting my movements.

Slowly, as his head turned and his eyes made contact with mine, I knew I was in trouble. The action in which he quickly pushed my body against the front door took my breath away. H
