Chapter 26: Captive

Clarissa's P.O.V.

Have you ever awoken from a deep sleep and found yourself confused by your surroundings? The light-emitting from the window above me gave way to the difference between day and night. However, I was still unsure of where I was or how long I had been gone.

Foolishly, I had let myself be captured by Torrez and his men. Looking at my wrists, I took note of the silver shackles clasped around them.

I could vaguely recall being brought in and placed onto a cold surface while men in white coats surrounded me. A moment was all I got as I reached out to Antonio. The memory of his voice consuming me made my chest tighten in pain. This was precisely what I had promised him wouldn't happen, and I couldn't begin to imagine what he was going through right now.

The room I was being held in was dark and reeked of death. I didn't remember being moved here, but I figured it had something to do with the needles that they had stuck in me.

Whatever they had done left bruises scattered up
