Alexa's eyes slowly opened, groggily taking in her surroundings. She was met with the unfamiliar sight of a luxurious hotel room, her mind foggy and disoriented. Panic set in as she scrambled to remember how she got there. The last thing she recalled was going to a club with her best friend Olivia to forget about her cheating boyfriend, David.

As she sat up, a sharp pain shot through her vagina, making her cry out in shock. She looked down to see herself stark naked, her clothes scattered around the room. Tears burst forth as she realized the unthinkable had happened - she'd lost her innocence to a stranger.

Alexa's mind raced with questions. Who was this mysterious person? Why did she feel so used and violated? She hastily dressed and fled the hotel room, her heart heavy with shame and anger.

As she ran, the words of her ex-boyfriend David echoed in her mind. "You're unattractive, and I don't feel anything for you." The pain of his betrayal and rejection was still fresh, and now this unknown violation had left her feeling worthless and broken.

Tears streamed down her face as she ran, unsure of where she was going or what lay ahead. All she knew was that she needed to escape the darkness that had consumed her life. In her desperation, she didn't notice the road ahead and blindly ran into its path. A trailer was fast approaching, its speed and size a deadly combination. Alexa's life flashed before her eyes as she froze, unable to move or escape the impending doom.

And then, everything went black.

**************************

She woke up the next morning, and saw her best friend Olivia, sitting by her bedside. Her eyes all watery from crying for long.

"You're awake!" Her eyes all lit up.

Alexa tried to get up, but felt a sharp pain on her forehead. Due to the impact of the fall, she bumped her head and sustained a bruise.

"Thank goodness you're okay. You only sustained a minor injury." Olivia beamed.

Alexa smiled and tried to remember all that happened yesterday. She couldn't believe her boyfriend had broken up with her. She tried to suppress the tears that welled up in her eyes. And who was the stranger that shamelessly took her innocence away from her?

She had taken a lot of alcohol, that Olivia couldn't stop her. She wanted to escape from the pain that her boyfriend had caused. In the course of the years that they had spent together, he had loved her so much.

So what changed? Why did he suddenly detest her? Was he lying to her all this years?

Alexa had a lot of questions going through her mind, that she needed answers for. But those questions would never have answers. She had stopped calling when she realized David had blocked her number.

" Where the fuck were you last night? I searched for you everywhere." A frown appeared on Olivia's face.

How was she going to tell Olivia all that transpired between her and the stranger last night? She was too tipsy to remember all the details, but she remembered the heavy breathing, and husky voice of a man above her. She could remember her legs being parted, and the stinging pain that followed after the penetration.

"I wandered off I guess." Alexa shrugged, massaging her temple .

Was Olivia going to judge her if she told her the truth? Olivia was her best friend and would never judge her for something like that. After Alexa's parents died, Olivia became like family.

"You wandered off half naked Alexa." The frown still visible on Olivia's face.

Olivia wasn't going to let her be, until she got to the root of the matter. It was just better she told her.

"I was very tipsy, I didn't know how come I ended up in a hotel room with a stranger. It was in my confusion that I ran into the road, and got hit"

Olivia's face looked like I had just dropped a hell of a news.

"I don't understand. You ended up in bed with a stranger? Did he touch you?" Olivia shot back.

Alexa nodded in affirmation. Her face looking guilty.

"Do you know this man? You can sue him you know? Did you give consent?" Olivia kept asking, not waiting for Alexa to answer.

"I I don't know" Alexa stammered, her head bowed in shame.

"Of course you

wouldn't know. You were too drunk to give consent, and the man took advantage of you!"

The anger in Olivia's voice was noticable. She had every right to be angry though.

"I thought you wanted to clear your head. After all David did to you, cheated and lied to you, you went ahead to sleep with a fucking stranger?" She continued.

Tears welled up in Alexa's eyes. She blamed David for all that happened to her. David was the reason why she had gone to the club in the first place.

Olivia bent over and gave Alexa a tight hug. Tears kept flowing freely, as she remembered all she had been through in less than 24 hours.

"Shhhhh now now don't cry Alexa it'll be fine." Olivia assured her, stroking her hair.

Alexa's heart was heavy with regret. Regrets of meeting David, and every other thing that followed after. David had been her high school crush. They looked out for each other, and kept their relationship mutual. He finally asked her out after college, and she gladly accepted. Their relationship was the envy of many as they were almost never seen without each other.

Suddenly David started becoming cold, distant, and was always busy ( at least that's what he says) .

His absence was driving Alexa crazy. She couldn't process all that was happening between them, until One day she caught him cheating on her with another lady. Her whole world came crashing down. There and then, he confessed that he didn't love Alexa and never will.

It was after this event that she had gone to the club, to grab a few drinks.

"Good morning ladies" The doctor smiled as he flung the door open, startling the girls.

"How are you feeling now miss?" He continued.

"I'm feeling a lot better now, thank you." Alexa replied.

"That's good to hear. Thankfully, you sustained a minor bruise on your forehead, and nothing more. I'll prescribe some pain killers and antibiotics, and you'll be just fine by tomorrow." The doctor said.

"Are you sure she's fine?" Olivia asked, concerned.

"Ofcourse she's okay. Now she is going to be discharged. You can get the drugs at the clinic down the hallway." He handed them a piece of paper before walking away.

As they walked down the hallway, they noticed four men on black suits and dark sunglasses; bodyguards.

The men looked stern and intimidating.

From the glass window, a pair of blue eyes stared back at Alexa. Those were the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen. Why did it feel like she had seen those eyes somewhere. They looked like the color of a calm sea, after a great turbulence.

She could barely see the rest of his face, he seemed familiar.

"Girl what the hell?" Olivia gasped after noticing the back and forth going on between Alexa and the stranger. She wrapped her arms around Alexa, and pulled her down the hallway.

"What?" Alexa bust out laughing.

"Girl you're something else. What the hell was going on back there?"

"I don't know what you're talking about." Alexa cackled.

"You don't know who that is? You flatter me honestly. That's the body guard of the most ruthless mafia boss in the city." Olivia whispered.

"Girl you tripping." Alexa scoffed, not believing a word that Olivia said.

"You think I'm lying? What's up with the body guards then?" Olivia asked, trying to convince her.

"I believe you Olivia, but alot of important people visit the hospital too. So why should I be surprised?" Alexa smiled.

The silence on the way home was intoxicating. The last 48 hours had been dramatic, but they had to be there for each other.

Olivia was also an orphan, but she was living with her grandma. They were like sisters, and people hardly knew that they were not related. Alexa's pains were also her pains, and she shared them with Alexa gladly.

Olivia gazed at Alexa's face. Her eyes were closed. She must have dozed off. She held her hand, and squeezed it softly. She felt sorry for Alexa. All this had happened in the space of 48 hours. From her cheating boyfriend, to being raped. And who was the mother fucker anyway? He had violated her friend, and if he was ever caught, she'd make sure he paid dearly.

The taxi pulled up at the front of Alexa's apartment, and the two friends alighted, with Olivia supporting Alexa with one hand. As they climbed the fleet of stairs, Alexa rested her head on Olivia's shoulder.

As they got into the apartment, Olivia prepared a bath for Alexa, and made her some warm oats.

The truth did not explode. It settled.Like dust after a long disturbance, it fell quietly into place, coating everything with a clarity that could no longer be ignored.Gabrielle did not sleep.Neither did Alexa.By morning, the mansion felt like a held breath.Antonio arrived early, tension drawn tight across his shoulders. He carried a tablet, but it was the look in his eyes that told Gabrielle everything.“It’s her,” Antonio said without preamble. “I didn’t want to believe it.”Alexa felt the words before she understood them.“Show us,” Gabrielle said.Antonio placed the tablet on the table and began scrolling.“Small things,” he explained. “Too small to trigger alarms. Kitchen access logs overlapping with security rotations. Maintenance requests that rerouted guards. Deliveries that arrived early or late.”“Information disguised as concern,” Alexa murmured.Antonio nodded. “She never gave orders. She suggested. She listened. She remembered. She passed along what sounded harmless.

  • Choke me daddy! (one night stand with a mafia boss.)   The shape of a lie

The truth did not arrive loudly. It crept. It lived in pauses, in glances held a second too long, in routines that felt too smooth to be innocent. The kind of truth that did not announce itself but waited patiently to be noticed.Alexa felt it first. Not as suspicion, not even as fear, but as a subtle resistance in the air, like walking through a familiar room and realizing something had been rearranged while you weren’t looking. The mansion had always been alive. Now it felt… observant. She stood in the hallway outside the kitchen, listening to the low murmur of voices. Ava’s voice, calm as ever. One of the guards responding politely, deferentially.Too deferential.Alexa waited until the conversation ended, then stepped forward.“Ava,” she said lightly.Ava turned, smiling instantly. Warm. Maternal. Unchanged.“Alexa, dear. You’re up early.”“I couldn’t sleep,” Alexa replied. “Thought I’d help.”Ava waved her off. “You help by resting. Gabrielle would scold me if I let you work.”Al

  • Choke me daddy! (one night stand with a mafia boss.)   What she did not say

Cordelia’s voice would not leave Alexa alone. It lingered in the spaces between noise, in the quiet hum of the mansion at night, in the pauses between conversations, in the moments when Gabrielle’s hand tightened around hers as if anchoring himself to something solid.“Enemies are closer than they appear. Distance does not equal danger. Watch each other’s backs keenly.”Alexa sat alone in the small sitting room off the west corridor, knees drawn up beneath her, a cup of untouched tea cooling on the table. The house was subdued in a way it had never been before. Even the guards moved differently, quieter, restrained, as though sound itself might fracture what little balance remained after Cordelia’s death. She had ruled through presence. Now her absence pressed heavier than authority ever had.Alexa closed her eyes.Cordelia’s final moments replayed again, her breath hitching, the urgency in her eyes, the way she had fought to say the name.“Not the obvious one. Not….”Not who?Alexa o

The news broke without warning.A single headline flashed across Gabrielle’s phone as he crossed the living room:MADAME CORDELIA RUSHED TO PRIVATE HOSPITAL . CONDITION CRITICALFor a moment, the world stalled.Alexa felt it before he spoke, before the air in the room changed, before his phone slipped from his hand and clattered softly onto the marble floor.“What is it?” she asked, already standing.Gabrielle’s face had gone still in a way she had only seen during war meetings or executions on television, when emotion was locked behind steel.“Cordelia,” he said. “She’s at St. Aurelius.”Alexa’s breath caught. “Dying?”He didn’t answer. That was enough. They didn’t wait for Antonio. They didn’t alert the council. Gabrielle grabbed his coat, his keys, and Alexa’s hand in one fluid motion.“Now,” he said. The drive was a blur of red lights and sharp turns, the city melting into streaks of color beyond the windshield. Gabrielle drove faster than he ever allowed his security detail to, k

The fracture did not announce itself with raised voices or slammed doors. It arrived quietly.Gabrielle stood alone in the west study, the lights dimmed low, the city bleeding into the windows beyond the glass. The mansion slept, but he did not. Sleep had become a stranger since the accident, since Cordelia’s call, since the realization that every hand reaching toward him carried an agenda. On the desk before him lay a single object.A Thorn insignia ring.Cordelia’s.Antonio had delivered it less than an hour ago, without explanation. That alone spoke volumes.Gabrielle picked it up, turning it slowly between his fingers. The metal was cool, heavier than it looked. A symbol of lineage. Authority. Control.A reminder. His phone buzzed softly. He already knew who it was. He answered without greeting.“You found my messenger,” Cordelia said. Her voice was steady, unbothered, as if she were discussing the weather rather than the exposure of a planted operative.“You planted him in my hou

The mansion had never felt so small.Gabrielle stood in the surveillance room beneath the west wing, arms folded behind his back, eyes fixed on the wall of screens. The way Alexa’s name had ripped from antonio’s throat when he thought just for a second that he’d lost her.Cordelia’s voice still rang in his head.“Protect her at all costs.”He intended to.That was why the house had become a cage.
