LOGINJessica/Tessa pov.The guards pull me from the cell and through dark tunnels. The air gets cold, and my wrists ache from the silver ropes, leaving sharp red marks around them.I look around, hoping for even the faintest glimpse of Evan. My chest tightens. I gave him a note yesterday, begging him to pass it to Zane. Did he manage it? Or did Paige find out? The thought of him being punished because of me makes my stomach twist. Jessica pov.The sharp blare of a horn split the morning air, yanking me out of half-sleep. My body jerked upright before my brain caught up.“What the hell now?” I groaned, dragging a hand over my face. My eyelids felt like bricks, and every bone in me screamed to just collapse back onto the pillow. One week of bad sleep and I was ready to murder whoever thought sounding horns at dawn was a good idea.
