Wholesale Hoarding Spree

"Cross Global Logistics."

That was the name on the lease for the massive, secluded industrial warehouse on the outskirts of the city. Elena had paid six months of rent upfront in cash. The landlord didn’t ask questions, and Elena didn’t give any.

The warehouse was completely empty, featuring a massive loading dock that could accommodate four semi-trucks at once. It was perfect.

For the next three days, Elena didn’t sleep. She sat in a pop-up tent inside the warehouse, her laptop glowing in the dim light, placing order after order with wholesale food distributors and outdoor survival mega-stores.

She didn’t just buy groceries. She bought entire supply chains.

She ordered 500 tons of white rice, flour, and sugar. She ordered 200 tons of frozen beef, pork, and chicken. She bought 10,000 gallons of cooking oil, 50,000 boxes of antibiotics, and enough canned vegetables to feed a small army for a decade.

When the first fleet of delivery trucks arrived at the loading dock, the drivers looked at the massive order, then at the lone, slender woman standing by the clipboard.

"You the receiver for Cross Global?" the lead driver asked, looking around the empty warehouse. "Where’s your forklift? Where’s your internal crew?"

"My team is handling the inventory inside," Elena said smoothly, pointing to the large, sealed rolling doors at the back of the warehouse. "Just unload the pallets right here in the staging zone. We’ll move them to the deep storage ourselves."

The driver shrugged. "Suit yourself."

He and his crew used the truck’s liftgate to drop the massive, shrink-wrapped pallets of rice onto the concrete. Once they finished, the driver walked over to his cab to grab his manifest for her to sign.

The moment his back was turned, Elena stepped up to the pallet of rice. She placed her bare hand against the plastic wrapping.

Zip.

In a fraction of a second, the two-ton pallet vanished into the infinite void of her System space.

Elena quickly walked over to the next pallet of frozen beef. Zip. Gone.

The next pallet of cooking oil. Zip. Gone.

Within thirty seconds, the entire staging zone was completely empty.

When the driver walked back, holding the clipboard, he stopped dead in his tracks. He looked at the empty concrete, then looked at the sealed back doors of the warehouse. He blinked, rubbing his eyes.

"Must be a hell of an internal crew moving that fast," he muttered to himself, shaking his head in awe. He handed Elena the clipboard, clearly intimidated, and hurried back to his truck.

Elena suppressed a smirk. This was the ultimate stealth mechanic. As long as no one was looking directly at her, she could absorb thousands of tons of物资 (supplies) in the blink of an eye.

For the next three days, the cycle repeated. Truck after truck arrived. Pallet after pallet vanished.

By day three, her 10,000 cubic meter space was only half full, and she was moving on to the most important category: extreme cold survival gear.

She ordered 50,000 sets of military-grade thermal underwear, heated insoles, and extreme-cold parkas. She bought 10,000 pairs of insulated snow boots, 5,000 sleeping bags rated for minus-fifty degrees, and hundreds of portable butane heaters.

Finally, it was time for weapons.

Using a mix of legal loopholes and her remaining cash, she visited a high-end tactical supplier. She bought fifty high-powered compound crossbows, 10,000 carbon-fiber bolts, fifty machetes, tactical tomahawks, and Kevlar vests. In the apocalypse, ammunition would run out, but a carbon-fiber bolt could be reused.

It was the evening of the third day. The sun was setting, casting long orange shadows across the warehouse floor. Elena was signing the final manifest for a massive stack of heavy-duty winter tents.

"You're buying enough gear to survive the end of the world, lady."

Elena froze.

She turned around. Standing a few feet away was a man she hadn’t heard approach. He was tall—well over six feet—with broad shoulders clad in a dark, scuffed tactical jacket. A jagged, faded scar cut through his left eyebrow, giving him a permanently dangerous look. His dark eyes were sharp, observant, and currently fixed on her clipboard.

He didn’t look like a delivery driver. He moved with the silent, heavy grace of a predator.

Elena’s grip on the clipboard tightened, her mind instantly calculating. In her past life, she had learned to read people quickly. This man was lethal.

"I'm just preparing for a long winter," Elena said, her voice cool and dismissive. She turned back to the driver, handed him the signed paper, and watched him drive away.

The scarred man didn’t leave. He took a slow step closer, his eyes scanning the massive stacks of thermal gear and weapons.

"A long winter," he repeated, his voice a deep, rough baritone. "Most people are buying summer clothes and planning beach trips. You’re buying enough Kevlar and heated gear to outfit a mercenary company. I'm Maleek, by the way."

Elena didn’t offer her hand. She just looked him dead in the eye. "Elena. And if you're done profiling my shopping list, I have a business to run."

Maleek’s lips twitched into a faint, almost imperceptible smirk. He wasn’t offended. If anything, he looked intrigued.

"Stay warm, Elena," he said softly. He turned and walked out of the warehouse, his footsteps completely silent on the concrete.

Elena watched him go, her heart beating a little faster. There was something about him. Something familiar, yet entirely dangerous.

Suddenly, the pale blue System screen materialized in her vision, flashing with a bright, urgent gold light.

[Ding!]

[Warning: High-Potential Individual detected within 50 meters!]

[Scanning...]

[Name: Maleekan Russel]

[Hidden Class: Awakened (Frost/Combat)]

[Threat Level: Lethal.]

[System Recommendation: Form an alliance or eliminate immediately. Do not let this individual become an enemy.]

Elena’s eyes widened slightly as she stared at the golden text.

Awakened?

He wasn’t just a prepared prepper. He was like her. He had powers.

And the System was telling her that the man who just walked out of her warehouse was dangerous enough to kill her.

  • Christmas Apocalypse: Reborn with Infinite Survival System    The First Blood

Elena didn't panic. She didn't even flinch. The cold, calculating survivor in her, the one forged in the frozen hell of her past life, took over completely. "Barnaby. Heel," she whispered. The massive Frost Guardian Hound immediately pressed his huge body against her left leg, his glowing blue eyes fixed on the reinforced front door. A low, dangerous growl vibrated in his chest, and the ambient temperature in the room rose slightly as his Heat Radiation Aura flared in response to her adrenaline.Elena walked calmly to the utility closet and pulled out her System interface. Deploy Aegis Drone 01.A soft whir echoed through the penthouse as a sleek, black, disc-shaped drone the size of a dinner plate materialized from her spatial storage. It hovered silently at her shoulder, its red optical sensor glowing faintly. "Go to Floor 38. Stairwell B. Feed me live video," she commanded. The drone zipped toward the ventilation shaft Elena had specifically designed for this purpose—a narrow,

The temperature outside was already at twelve degrees and dropping. The first wave of the White Christmas blizzard was battering the city. The streets, usually choked with holiday traffic, were eerily empty, slick with a layer of jagged, unnatural ice. Inside the penthouse, it was a perfect, balmy 72 degrees.Elena stood by the reinforced window, sipping a cup of hot chamomile tea, watching the snow pile up against the glass. She was safe. She was warm. She had endless food and weapons. But as she looked at the massive, empty living room, a quiet realization settled in her chest. She was going to be alone for a very, very long time. In her past life, the crushing, suffocating loneliness of the frozen wasteland had almost broken her mind before the cold broke her body. She needed a companion. She needed a protector. Elena set her tea down and walked over to her walk-in closet. She pulled out her new gear: a black, extreme-cold Moncler parka, thermal leggings, insulated snow

  • Christmas Apocalypse: Reborn with Infinite Survival System    The Fortress is Sealed

The sprawling, glass-enclosed sunroom on the east side of the penthouse was originally designed for wealthy socialites to sip champagne and look at the city skyline. Today, it was going to be Elena’s lifeline. She stood in the center of the empty room, staring at the sleek, metallic cylinder she had just materialized from her System. [Item: Advanced Hydroponic Seed Vault & Nutrient Synthesizer]It looked like a cross between a high-end server rack and a futuristic greenhouse. It was ten feet tall, lined with UV grow lights, automated misting nozzles, and dozens of sterile, soil-less planting trays. In the coming Ice Age, when the sun would be blocked by ash and snow for months, and the ground would be frozen solid as rock, fresh vegetables would be worth more than human life. People would kill for a single, crisp leaf of lettuce. Elena wouldn't just have lettuce. She would have a buffet. She connected the synthesizer’s intake valve to the penthouse’s main water line. The machine h

  • Christmas Apocalypse: Reborn with Infinite Survival System    Luxury, Liquor, and the Black Market

The accelerated timeline changed everything. If the polar vortex was hitting in 48 hours instead of 10 days, Elena couldn’t afford to leisurely browse wholesale catalogs. She needed to pivot immediately from bulk food to high-value survival assets. And if she was going to survive the end of the world, she was going to do it in absolute, unapologetic style. Her first stop was the city’s most exclusive luxury district. The boutiques were quiet, the staff expecting the usual trickle of wealthy socialites. Instead, they got Elena. She walked into the flagship Moncler and Canada Goose stores back-to-back. "I need your entire winter inventory," Elena told the stunned manager, sliding her black card across the glass counter. "Every extreme-cold parka, every heated vest, every pair of insulated, waterproof boots in sizes 7 through 10. And I need them delivered to a private warehouse in the next two hours.""Miss, that’s... that’s hundreds of thousands of dollars of merchandise," the manage

  • Christmas Apocalypse: Reborn with Infinite Survival System    The Hot Food Spree

Elena stood in the center of her perfectly heated, 72-degree penthouse, staring at the massive, walk-in freezer the contractors had installed. It was packed to the brim. Hundreds of pounds of premium Wagyu, endless racks of lamb, and whole sides of beef. Thanks to her System’s spatial storage, she had over a thousand tons of raw food. But as she looked at it, a realization hit her. Cooking. She would have to cook. Every single day. For the rest of her life. While she loved a good seared steak, the thought of spending hours prepping, chopping, and boiling water for every meal in the apocalypse sounded exhausting. More importantly, she missed variety. She missed the complex, rich flavors of restaurant-quality cuisine. And then, she remembered her System’s core trait. [Time-Frozen Spatial Storage.] A slow, brilliant smile spread across Elena’s face. If her space stopped time, it didn’t just keep meat from rotting. It kept heat from escaping. It kept steam from fading. If

  • Christmas Apocalypse: Reborn with Infinite Survival System    Fortress and First Feast

The "Apex Horizon" was the most exclusive, secure high-rise in the city. And the penthouse on the 40th floor was its crown jewel. It cost eight million dollars. Elena bought it in cash. The real estate agent was practically shaking as he handed over the keys. In a normal market, an all-cash, no-inspection closing in three days was unheard of. But Elena had paid a twenty percent premium for the speed, and the agent didn’t ask questions. What the agent didn’t know was that Elena wasn’t buying a home. She was buying a bunker. The moment the deed was transferred, she brought in a private, high-end contracting crew. She paid them triple their normal rate to work around the clock. "Here are the specifications," Elena told the foreman, handing him a thick stack of blueprints. "I want thirty-centimeter-thick polyurethane thermal insulation injected into every exterior wall and the ceiling. The windows need to be replaced with triple-paned, bulletproof, vacuum-sealed glass. And the main en
