LOGINHarley’s P.O.V.
My query fairly amused that couple before me. Ella’s sinister laughter revived my injuries as she said, “You are such an ingrate, Harley. Xander has spent millions on your mother, and you don’t even remember it? How shameless!” After enduring countless difficulties in her life, my mom fell ill. She had a surgery to fix her heart. Unfortunately, the best doctors in the pack couldn’t save her life and I lost my only parent. It never occurred to me that Xander would keep a record of those medical bills as he added to Ella’s statement. “You are right, darling. It’s in Harley’s nature to harm her benefactor. And you, omega. Repay me one million dollars. I am not running a charity center here!” He threw a blue file on my face, darkening my world. My hands were trembling when I opened it and saw the records. Even after the alimony, I had to shell out one million dollars to wipe the slate clean. It was like I fell into another dark pit after escaping an abusive relationship. Conjuring up some valor, I raised my head to deal with this new dilemma and tried to negotiate with my ex. “I will pay your money soon, Alpha. Give me some time to gather the amount.” My statement evaporated Xander’s victorious grin into thin air. He lunged forward and growled. “What did you say? You will repay this debt? What are you even thinking?” As I didn’t give in to trickery, Xander lost it. He couldn’t digest the firm response of his submissive ex-wife and spat out. “You are nothing without me, Harley. With your incomplete college degree, how are you supposed to earn money? Through prostitution? Nobody will pay ten bucks for your ugly chubby figure!” Xander insulted my appearance, body-shaming me. His audacity to call me a whore again set me ablaze as I shot back at him. “Whether I sell my body or my soul, it’s none of your fucking business, Alpha Xander. You want your money, so it’s up to me how I’ll earn it.” Seething in anger, I signed the legal papers of debt and spoke, glaring at Xander’s stupefied face. “You will receive the full amount within three months, Alpha Xander. It’s an omega’s promise to you!” ... After making an assertive claim, I left the Ledger’s mansion with only my clothes. The weight of reality sank in as I started looking for a job the next day. I applied to several vacancies, going to every office and institution, but in vain. Even the minimum wage job was impossible to secure, as restaurants and cafés rejected my application. I was searching for an opportunity online when my aunt came to my room. She let me crash at her place after the divorce. Her voice was laced with concern as she said, “It’s been three days, and you haven’t gotten a job, Harley. What will you do now?” She voiced my horrors, twisting my guts. I was stunned to hear the latest gossip of the pack. “The maids at my master’s place were talking that Alpha Xander has ordered all the subjects to not hire you. He wants you to work at his mansion, Harley.” A wave of sheer disgust washed over me as Xander’s master plan unfolded before me, exhausting my patience. He stooped so low to avenge his Alpha ego. The grip on my cell phone tightened as I took a bold decision on a whim, cursing inwardly. “You have left me with no choice, Xander!” My aunt became worried, suggesting I should give up and submit. But I assured her. “I am up for a long match, Aunt. Xander can’t dictate my life anymore.” … After this revelation, my work search ended at the Moon bar in a human town, the place I was familiar with. My friendship with the bartender helped me at this critical time. Lena was a lively girl with good relations with the boss, she confirmed my job as a server until evening. “Come to the bar at eight, Harley. In addition to tips, you’ll get a commission for selling wine.” I sincerely thanked the Goddess for her benevolence and went to work, excited to start a new career. This was the first time I was going to earn without the shadows of the Ledger family darkening my world. Lena was cleaning glasses when I reached the bar. She gave me a revealing uniform and welcomed me. “The boss is thrilled to have a new girl on board, Harley. I hope you’ll adjust to our routine soon.” She instructed me about the rules of the bars, which were basically the importance of happy customers. I asked her, “Everything is fine, but the guests won’t be happy to see me, Lena. I am clearly overweight, not a good fit for the job of server.” As men liked delicate models with slender arms, long, skinny legs, and flawless skin, I stood no chance against them. My body was unrecognizable after three years of marriage. Working day and night for the pack, I forgot to eat healthy and exercise, gaining weight as a result. Taking care of my bedridden mother-in-law was a full-time job for me. I expressed my reservations, sharing my concerns with Lena as my appearance wouldn’t please the customer. She took a brief look at my baggy clothes and spoke cheerfully. “Oh, come on, Harley. You aren’t that bad. In fact, you are cute, like a teddy bear. When I showed your picture to the boss, he mentioned the demands of some customers. They have a weird fetish for big girls.” Lena dismissed my worries and pushed me to wear the costume, speaking nonstop. “With your body shape, it’s necessary to pick the right outfit, Harley. Trust me, this uniform will refine your curves.” After some back and forth, I went to get dressed and barely fit into the uniform. But my reflection in the mirror caught me off guard. The low cut, tight-fitting black crop top accentuated my cleavage, the bar’s logo and my name on the chest were to gain guests’ attention. The bottom was a black mini skirt, hardly covering my panties. Then high-heeled boots and an apron for spare pockets completed my look. Lena came in to check the progress and gasped, “OMG! Harley, you look fab! Now go outside and show off your round ass. It will earn you a great fortune.” She giggled and smacked my ass, turning my cheeks red. I was nervous about being dressed like that. I hadn’t worn such an outfit before, but my vengeful spirit gave me the courage to be confident. Feeling determined, I walked out and started serving the tables. The middle-aged man in a brown coat was the first one to comment on my presence. His hungry gaze was fixed on my tits as he licked his lips. “Finally, the boss has hired a thick lady. So gorgeous!” Well, I wasn’t expecting praise after being ridiculed for my chubby appearance, so I thanked him with a smile. I was trying to be a polite server for a big tip when Lena called me. “Hey, Harley. Room number 77 has asked for you.” It turned out that the boss had informed all his guests about a chubby server, so someone requested my services. I picked the tray and rushed to the private room as only rich people could afford such luxury. Hoping for solid business, I twisted the door’s knob and walked in while lowering my head. “Good evening, Sir. How can I serve you today?” “What about we start with your promise?” The dominating Alpha tone dried the blood coursing through my veins as I gazed up and spotted Carlos, sitting leisurely on the leather sofa alone. His meaningful smile raced my heart as he said. “You are divorced now, so it’s time to finish what we started that night, princess.”Harley’s P.O.V. Aunt Freya was on our side. That mattered more than anything else! I reached out and grasped Carlos’s arm before his temper could ignite again. “It’s alright.” I said gently, giving his arm a small squeeze. “Let them stay.” He turned to me instantly, his eyes softening just a fraction as I added. “They have never seen a werewolf pack before. This will be new for them. And they’ll be safe with us too…” Carlos stared at me for a long second, torn between irritation and surrender. Then he exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair. “Fine,” he said at last, the word clipped but final. “I’m letting them stay just because of you, Princess.” Relief flooded Aaron’s face. Arnold let out a breath he’d clearly been holding. But Carlos wasn’t done yet. His gaze hardened as he looked at his cousin. “You both better behave,” he warned coldly. “This isn’t a joke. You follow my rules, or you are going straight back to Grafburg.” Aaron and Arnold sang in unison
Harley’s P.O.V.Carlos’s question pierced straight through my heart. The way his voice broke—soft, uncertain, and stripped of all alpha authority—frightened me more than any battle ever could.I squeezed his hand tightly, anchoring him to us.“I don’t think your mom is angry in the first place.”Carlos turned to look at me, confusion clouding his crimson eyes.“How can you say that so confidently, Harley?” he asked. His words carried years of buried guilt.“I never loved my mom. In fact, I hated her so much that I never visited her. Not once!”A wounded smile curved my lips as I placed his hand over my belly, pressing it there firmly where life quietly bloomed beneath my skin.“I can say it because I am pregnant.” I spoke softly. “It’s been only a day since I found out, and I already love this baby so much that I can’t even imagine holding anger in my heart.”I looked up at him, letting my truth spill freely.“No mother can stay angry at her pup, Carlos. Parents aren’t desig
Harley’s P.O.V.Carlos had been pacing the room for so long that I lost count of his steps.Back and forth.Back and forth. The faint sound of his boots brushing the floor echoed in the otherwise silent chamber. His shoulders were tense, his jaw clenched, and every few seconds, he dragged a hand through his hair like he was trying to pull the answers out of his own thoughts.“Alpha Demetri still hasn’t sent a formal letter,” he finally said, his voice tight with worry. “But the message is clear. He will arrive at Grafburg within the next week.”My heart skipped painfully.“He’s planning a grand ceremony,” Carlos continued, stopping in front of the window. “A lycan ceremony, according to their traditions. He wants to formally welcome the lycan heir into the Dietor family.”Goddess!I rose from the couch immediately, dread curling in my stomach. “That’s bad,” I said, shaking my head. “That’s really bad, Carlos.”He turned to look at me, his eyes dark.“This will start another war,” I ad
Harley's P.O.V.What?Four months pregnant? The world ceased to exist for me after this revelation. My eyes grew unnaturally wide, my lips parting in a silent scream. I couldn't help but push Carlos to grab the envelope for the confirmation.I was pregnant? Seriously?Carlos’s breath hitched as he lunged forward, almost snatching the report from his grandpa’s hand. He stared at the report, then at me, then back again.“Princess…” His voice broke as he gawked at me. “It’s true. We are going to be parents!”Oh, my goddess!Tears burned my eyes as my hand slid to my round belly, the one I always hated about my chubby body. Recently, I noticed it swelling and took it as more layers of fat, but…Carlos pulled me into his arms, and I sobbed against his chest, shock, joy, and disbelief crashing together all at once. The lie that ended a war was never a lie at all. It was the truth!I was pregnant, carrying my own child, my baby. Our baby! What else could I ask from Heaven?…Later that eve
Harley’s P.O.V.I lay flat on the massive velvet bed, staring at the carved ceiling as if it might swallow me whole. My heart would not stop racing at all. Lucian stood near the window, arms crossed behind his back, his posture rigid despite the worry etched into his face. Alpha Demetri paced on the other side of the room like a caged beast, his boots thudding sharply against the marble floor. Freya hovered near the bedside, her fingers clenched together in silent prayer. And then there was me!The liar!A female doctor adjusted her spectacles and gently pressed the thermometer beneath my tongue. I obeyed without protest, my mind screaming louder than my heartbeat.“What have I done?”Well, my lie had worked too well, damn too well. The moment the words ‘I am pregnant’ left my mouth, centuries of hatred had frozen in place. Lucian had abandoned the fight instantly. Demetri, proud and feral, had followed him into the castle without a single protest, bloodthirsty rivals red
Harley’s P.O.V.The question hit me like a blade to the chest. For a second, I couldn’t breathe.Going back to the lycan pack without a peace treaty didn’t just mean leaving this castle. It meant choosing a side in a war that had already taken too much. It meant severing every tie I had with the Laynox family. It meant rejecting Carlos publicly, denying him the right to claim me as his mate because I’d be a part of the Dietor family. It meant losing him!My throat went dry as I stared at Lucian, then at Demetri. Two powerful leaders, two unyielding prides, and me, standing between them like a fragile thread holding a collapsing bridge together. My lips parted before my mind could catch up.“I will go to the lycan pack…”The sentence wasn't even finished before Alpha Demetri threw his head back and let out a victorious howl that echoed across the burning porch.“Did you hear that?” he roared, pointing at Lucian. “That’s the power of blood! Harley has chosen her true family!”The sound
