Maya's POV

I barely got any sleep. My eyes were shut for most of the night, but my mind refused to rest. Every creak, every gust of wind against the window sounded like a threat. It wasn’t until around 4 a.m. that sleep finally claimed me, not out of peace, but exhaustion.

When I opened my eyes, the sun had already filtered through the curtains. I sat up slowly, rubbing my temples and making a silent resolve.

These people, whoever they are, have followed me long enough. If I didn’t act soon, someone else might get hurt. And I needed to know why they were stalking me in the first place. What made me so important to them?

As I swung my legs off the bed, a soft knock hit my door.

It opened before I could answer, and Theresa peeked her head in. “Hey. You sleep okay?”

I forced a smile. “Yeah. Like a baby,” I lied.

She stepped inside. “I saw you weren't in the mood for any conversations last night. You okay?”

“I’m fine,” I said, brushing it off. “By the way, I noticed you and Ben outside wh

Maya's POVJust when I thought the silence would continue until Andrew comes back.“You cut your hair,” Regan said suddenly, his voice low, deep, unshakable.I flinched. I didn't cut my hair, I knew he was obviously looking for an excuse to talk to me.So much for pretending.I turned slowly to face him, my lips tight. "I would have preferred you keep your observations to yourself, Regan. Why did you have to disturb the peace.”He smirked. “I figured I’d break the tension. It was choking Theresa.”Theresa cleared her throat awkwardly. “I’m just gonna check if Andrew needs help finding the car.”Coward.She practically bolted, leaving me with him.He turned slightly toward me. “Maya-"“No,” I snapped. “Don’t. I don’t want to hear it.”“You don’t even know what I was going to say.”“I know enough,” I said. “You always show up when I least want you, say something clever, and disappear before the damage settles.”His eyes narrowed slightly. “That’s what you think I do?”I shrugged

Maya's POVNo. Freaking. Way."Andrew?" I whispered.Leaning against the car with arms folded, there was a most awful and cocky grin on his face-a grin that I had not seen almost all year! Unmoving, I gripped the door handle as if it were going to save me from drowning in shock. "Hey, Maya," he said hoarsely. "What the hell?" I muttered, turning toward Theresa. "You never told me it was him." She shrugged. "Well, surprise." For that, I gave her a death glare. "Are you serious right now?" Theresa snickered. "Oh, come on. It's not like he's a serial killer."And you guys dated ages ago.”“Exactly,” I snapped. “We dated. Past tense. There’s a reason for that.”Andrew took a few steps forward, looking amused. “Relax. I’m just the ride, not your boyfriend.”I groaned. “I don’t think I want to go anymore.”“Oh, please,” Theresa said, nudging my side. “We already got dressed. You made me bathe in your apartment and everything.”I hesitated. She had a point. We did just spend half an h

  • Claimed By My Professor,Loved By His Son:A forbidden bond   The Truth

Maya's POV"I'm not going anywhere on an empty stomach," I stated, arms securely crossed over chest.Theresa rolled her eyes, laughing. "Fair. We'd better eat. I'm already starving."I raised an eyebrow and gazed at what she was wearing. "Aren't you changing at home?""Ah, no," she patted her tote bag. "I came prepared. Got my clothes, makeup, even my perfume. I'll shower here."I gave her a narrow-eyed look. “You planned this, didn’t you?”She winked.I sighed. “You do know that tomorrow’s Monday, don’t you? A bonfire party way too close to getting back to school sounds like something we’ll both regret in class.”Theresa shrugged already heading to the refrigerator. "It's a risk worth taking."I, however, shook my head and followed her. We moved about the kitchen in rhythm, chopping vegetables and debating whether to add too much pepper. Finally, the smell of the stir-fry filled the air, pleasant enough to gradually dissolve the tension I hadn't yet been aware of.Theresa settled

  • Claimed By My Professor,Loved By His Son:A forbidden bond   The Invite

Maya's POVI was about to pull the trigger when the person came into view.it was no stranger, it was Theresa.I lowered the gun immediately and let out a shaky breath. My hand was trembling.I was aghast that I almost shot her. Guilt and frustration engulfed my entire being, and I turned back toward room and hastily shoved the firearm into the wardrobe underneath a top layer of folded jeans. This whole incident was playing with my head: I was getting unnecessarily paranoid.I had just closed the wardrobe when a familiar voice called, "Maya?"Turning around, there she was, still hair disheveled, but with a calm face, standing in the door."I didn't even hear you come in," I said, trying to sound casual. She entered and looked around. "I saw you cleaning up. Everything okay?"I nodded. "My mom called. She’s coming back tomorrow evening."Theresa raised her brows. "That’s not too bad. I mean, she’s a military consultant. That means you’ll have serious protection around."I dropped onto
