The car ride was silent, as there were two policemen in the car. One was driving, while the other sat calmly and watched the road.

"You should have thought of the consequences when you chose to cheat on your boyfriend," the second policeman, who had dragged me into the car, said.

"Officer, I didn't intentionally cheat on Jacob. This is against the law. You all should have gone to arrest Layla, not me. She set me up!" I raised my voice at the policeman, who scoffed.

"You didn't come to the police station to report your friend, so why should we arrest her? You are being arrested for fraud and deceit, and that's your crime. So you better keep shut, unless you want me to add to your punishment," the policeman said, and I gulped back all the words that I wanted to use to defend myself.

I watched the road silently as the police car drove off to the police station.

After a few more minutes of driving, the police car arrived at the police station branch and parked in the parking lot.

"Come out," the policeman who had dragged me into the car ordered, and I clenched my handcuffed hands and got out.

The sunny wind hit my face once again as the policeman led me into the magnificent police station building in Dominic City.

I was detained and locked up in a women's cell.

"We will contact your family to pay up the 15 million dollars that you owe Mr. Jacob Stones. Until you pay the money, you will be granted bail," the police officer said, his voice sharp and stern, while I stared at the two other inmates in the cell with me.

They were young women too, and I wondered what their crime was.

"What happened to you, princess? Did you steal money?" one of the two young women asked me. She was wearing only a brown dress.

Her brown hair was tangled and rough, while the other blonde woman looked uninterested in knowing my crime.

"I didn't steal. My best friend set me up, and I woke up in another man's bed. My fiancé broke up with me, and now he is demanding that I pay him 15 million dollars as compensation for the five years we dated," I said, as I tiredly went to sit in a corner in the cell.

"Oh no, that's bad. Why didn't you come to arrest her immediately after you woke up? Why did you let it slide? She could have been charged to pay for the damages she caused in making you and your fiancé break up," the brown-haired lady said.

"I didn't know that I could arrest her. I am just overwhelmed and embarrassed," I said, tears streaming down my cheeks.

I was broken, especially after getting to know that I slept with another woman's boyfriend.

I didn't have anyone to come for me. With Maddison against my brother helping me, I am sure my older sister wouldn't care if I rot in jail. At least, she will be happy that she has the opportunity to date Jacob now. With my parents disowning me, I just don't have any hope of getting out of jail, unless Jacob has pity on me and allows me to come out and work.

"Don't worry. It's against Dominic City rule for anyone to get locked up more than 48 hours without being charged in court. So have hope. When you get to court, the jury will order for your best friend to be arrested," she said, before another policeman arrived to take my statement.

"Come on, you fraud!" he barked at me, and I shuddered and went out of the cell as he pulled the gate open.

When I was led to the statement room to give my own statement, he glared at me and asked, "Why did you scam your boyfriend and deprive him of having sex with you for five years? Yet, you willingly gave it to another man?"

"Officer, I didn't give it to another man. I was drugged, and I didn't know what happened."

"Hmm. Are you saying that you were séxually assaulted? By who? Who was the man you cheated on your boyfriend with? Do you know his identity?" asked the policeman, as another policewoman walked into the room.

"That's what they are? Cheap hookers. Sleeping around for money. If her boyfriend hadn't caught her, she would have deceived the innocent man into marrying her, thinking she was a virgin," she glared at me, and I gulped hard.

Was Jacob only after dating me because he thinks that I am a virgin and he wanted to take my virginity? Wasn't it because he loved me that he accepted to be my boyfriend for these past five years?

"Answer me, young woman! Who did you cheat on Jacob Stone with? Do you want to rot in jail?" He glared at me, and I trembled.

I didn't want to drag Ethan Owen into my mess. He was engaged. If I revealed that I slept with Ethan, the whole media will know, as the police will publish my statement.

"Officers, I don't know. When I awoke, the man was already gone," I said, my voice quivering, and the two officers glared at me.

"Do you want us to get the lie detector to know if you are lying to us? Answer me!" The policeman yelled, and I trembled.

"I don't know him. You should arrest Layla Parker, not me. She arranged for a man to sleep with me, so why are you accusing me? Go and get Layla arrested and let me be!" I yelled at them, and they frowned.

The Parker family were among the rich families in Dominic City. They didn't make it into the top ten, but they were a well-known family too, having some companies under the Parker Corporation.

"Mmm. You are going to prison since you don't want to confess," the policeman said before he led me back to the cell and locked the door.

Sighing, I went back to my sitting position, knowing that I wouldn't be allowed to leave.

I thought about my job with Ethan Owen, knowing that if I don't get released before Monday, then I will lose my job.

Closing my eyes, I blinked away the tears that streamed down my cheeks, as I hadn't expected that I would be in this mess.
