LOGINChapter Five
I woke up to a room in the dark. It was grand, with glittering silver tiles that gleamed under the moon’s rays. There were two couches, velvet and in shade of sapphire. A large wooden chest, carved with intricate markings of some ancient lore I wasn’t sure off. My head felt woozy as I turned around to a large four-post bed, with a large purple blanket sheet over it, a plethora of soft pillows which my head laid on and a beautiful headboard with the same markings as the chest drawer. Where was I? The question troubled me greatly as I placed a hand over my head. The last thing I remembered was my wedding, and my father being wounded, and—- A door opened, a faint light from the outside shone in the room and I quickly yelped into a corner. I grabbed onto the nightlight, a beautiful candleholder which could source as a powerful weapon if I used it correctly. “You’re finally awake.” I heard a female voice. Soft, pure. I stepped out of the shadows as it brought me a feeling of safety. “Who…who are you?” I asked as she stepped into the light. She was beautiful, with her hair wrapped into a beautiful plait, a trail of flowers adorned on each braid. I couldn’t help but admire her attire, a simple frock—lavender, with intricate gold bearings on the hem and belt of her skirt. “I’m Lenore.” She answered, “I’m your personal maid.” “Lenore??” My eyes widened, I turned to look around again. “Where am I?” “It’s an honor to finally meet the one claimed by the Alpha king himself.” she said, bowing in courtesy. I didn’t care, all I needed were questions to be answered. What was this place? It was unlike anything I’d ever seen before. “Answer me,” I said to her, “Where am I?” Her brows arched for a moment, she flashed me a wonderful smile, “You’re in the home of the Blood Moon King.” I gasped, reality finally seeping into my veins. I was captured, claimed, trapped, by the tyrant king of all Alphas himself. In shock of my predicament, I plummeted to the ground and tears followed shortly. “Are you okay?” Lenore asked. I sniffled, “I want to go home.” She laughed, the maid laughed, “Home? This place is sealed from the rest of the— “You’re lying,” shaking my head vigorously as I rose to my feet, “Tell me you’re lying!!” “No miss,” She replied, “The Alpha King’s lair is sealed from the rest of the world, only he can let you go.” I’ve heard rumors and stories of it, The Blood Moon King’s lair, situated in the shadow city. No one enters and no one leaves without his permission, those who manage to get in never return and those who manage to leave plunge into a scarring death. I felt suffocated, tired beyond immense. My eyes carried enough bags of worry as I looked up at her, “Take me to him. Your lord, take me to him.” Lenore smiled down at me, “I’m here to get you ready for your mate my lady.” ____*_____*_____*____*___ I remained transfixed on the spot as Lenore unclothed me, then I was ushered into a bath with warm spices and rose petals. She was gentle, scrubbing off the sweat and dread off my skin until it shone. My eyes traveled fo the ugly tulle sprawled on the floor that was my wedding dress, I was too tired to process all that had happened, remaining silent as the maid bathed me. I stepped out of the bath, bare naked as she rubbed my body with aromatic oils. She muttered something about it being my mate’s favorite scent but I couldn’t bother to care, I just remained still like a puppet. Then she brushed my hair, and wove it into a beautiful which she wrapped around into a bun, two silver pins holding it all into place. I was being treated like a doll, all to meet the man who just claimed me. “Your dress my lady.” She muttered. It was beautiful. Unlike the ugly frock that was my wedding dress, it was a black dress with sparkling gemstones on the bodice. There were two long strands of fabric on the sleeves, reaching floor length, a delicate skirt that hung onto my curves perfectly. I gulped hard, “This is too grand of a dress just to meet with your lord isn’t it?” Lenore smiled and then pointed at the door. I felt out of breath as I followed the maid, across a dark hall and into a room where he stood. My mate. The one who ruined my life, the devil spawn himself. Looking at him alone made me want to vomit. I felt it again, that tug towards him. His dangerously blue eyes skimmed over my body, like a predator waiting quietly for its prey before it was ready to pounce. I was uneasy beyond remorse. Still, I garnered enough courage to speak, “I would like to— “Come Anora.” A command, a plea, I wasn’t so sure. With every step I took, it felt like I was plunging into a state of doom. He was so close and yet so far away. “I wish to speak to you.” I said as I joined him at the front, then another man appeared out of nowhere. He looked like a priest. The blood moon king smiled at me, “It can wait. Now let’s do it.” I blinked, “Do what?” My mate chuckled, “My sweet Anora. We’re going to get married.”Chapter Twenty **ANORA** “Wh…what are you…what are you doing??” I stammered as he came onto me until I was backed up against the desk. Damn his wicked eyes, his piercing gaze, strong enough to break my will and make my legs reduce to nothing. I gulped hard as he veered even closer, both his hands placed on both sides of the desk as he trapped me in between. My throat Ds even more dry, not even the supplest of wines should lubricate it. “What do you want from me?” “You” “Huh?” “It’s simple.” He said, brushing a stray hair off my forehead, “Have I ever told you how beautiful you are Anora? You’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen.” I rolled my eyes, not wanting to be flattered but for some reason my cheeks couldn’t help but get heated up, “Please go away.” “It’s hard.” His voice silky, “It’s hard being this close to you, and not able to do anything about it.” I stared at him glumly, he’d shaven too, “Well what’s stopping— I
Please excuse me.” She suddenly rushed out and I was left all alone. Despite the perceived danger I felt for what was to come, I couldn’t help but glance around the bath area. It was beautiful—white coarse tiles with intricate curves and shapes from blue marbled stone, creating an intricate piece of artwork. Each corner was adorned with beautiful flowers and incense trays. The ambience was nice, unlike anything I’d ever seen or experienced before. It made me feel crazy almost wanting to feel relaxed, even though I was in a pool of milk. Lenore returned a few minutes later, her sudden arrival made me flinch so hard that I got a little of the bath milk into my mouth. I coughed out loud, disgusted to say the least. Chapter Twenty two A week passed and it became the normal routine. My mate and I no longer shared a bed. I walk out during breakfast, and dinner, he does the same. The visitor still remains in the manor, barely speaking a word to me, ignoring my very presence even. Lenore became quieter, only doing as she was told and unwilling to even look me in the eye. She woke me up from my slumber to tell me breakfast was ready, no longer delegated to my bath duties as she was now assigned to serve the guest before me. This was my life now. All I do is read, eat, miss my life back home and sleep. My mate no longer cares all because of his new lover. I should be glad, grateful even that he was out of my hair but for some reason I couldn’t help but hate him even more. He stole me from my father, made my life a living hell and now he’s kept me in a secluded area, acting like i didn’t exist anymore. I grunted out loud as I walked out of bed to the window, there I watched him—with her
