Chapter Five
I woke up to a room in the dark. It was grand, with glittering silver tiles that gleamed under the moon’s rays. There were two couches, velvet and in shade of sapphire. A large wooden chest, carved with intricate markings of some ancient lore I wasn’t sure off. My head felt woozy as I turned around to a large four-post bed, with a large purple blanket sheet over it, a plethora of soft pillows which my head laid on and a beautiful headboard with the same markings as the chest drawer. Where was I? The question troubled me greatly as I placed a hand over my head. The last thing I remembered was my wedding, and my father being wounded, and—- A door opened, a faint light from the outside shone in the room and I quickly yelped into a corner. I grabbed onto the nightlight, a beautiful candleholder which could source as a powerful weapon if I used it correctly. “You’re finally awake.” I heard a female voice. Soft, pure. I stepped out of the shadows as it brought me a feeling of safety. “Who…who are you?” I asked as she stepped into the light. She was beautiful, with her hair wrapped into a beautiful plait, a trail of flowers adorned on each braid. I couldn’t help but admire her attire, a simple frock—lavender, with intricate gold bearings on the hem and belt of her skirt. “I’m Lenore.” She answered, “I’m your personal maid.” “Lenore??” My eyes widened, I turned to look around again. “Where am I?” “It’s an honor to finally meet the one claimed by the Alpha king himself.” she said, bowing in courtesy. I didn’t care, all I needed were questions to be answered. What was this place? It was unlike anything I’d ever seen before. “Answer me,” I said to her, “Where am I?” Her brows arched for a moment, she flashed me a wonderful smile, “You’re in the home of the Blood Moon King.” I gasped, reality finally seeping into my veins. I was captured, claimed, trapped, by the tyrant king of all Alphas himself. In shock of my predicament, I plummeted to the ground and tears followed shortly. “Are you okay?” Lenore asked. I sniffled, “I want to go home.” She laughed, the maid laughed, “Home? This place is sealed from the rest of the— “You’re lying,” shaking my head vigorously as I rose to my feet, “Tell me you’re lying!!” “No miss,” She replied, “The Alpha King’s lair is sealed from the rest of the world, only he can let you go.” I’ve heard rumors and stories of it, The Blood Moon King’s lair, situated in the shadow city. No one enters and no one leaves without his permission, those who manage to get in never return and those who manage to leave plunge into a scarring death. I felt suffocated, tired beyond immense. My eyes carried enough bags of worry as I looked up at her, “Take me to him. Your lord, take me to him.” Lenore smiled down at me, “I’m here to get you ready for your mate my lady.” ____*_____*_____*____*___ I remained transfixed on the spot as Lenore unclothed me, then I was ushered into a bath with warm spices and rose petals. She was gentle, scrubbing off the sweat and dread off my skin until it shone. My eyes traveled fo the ugly tulle sprawled on the floor that was my wedding dress, I was too tired to process all that had happened, remaining silent as the maid bathed me. I stepped out of the bath, bare naked as she rubbed my body with aromatic oils. She muttered something about it being my mate’s favorite scent but I couldn’t bother to care, I just remained still like a puppet. Then she brushed my hair, and wove it into a beautiful which she wrapped around into a bun, two silver pins holding it all into place. I was being treated like a doll, all to meet the man who just claimed me. “Your dress my lady.” She muttered. It was beautiful. Unlike the ugly frock that was my wedding dress, it was a black dress with sparkling gemstones on the bodice. There were two long strands of fabric on the sleeves, reaching floor length, a delicate skirt that hung onto my curves perfectly. I gulped hard, “This is too grand of a dress just to meet with your lord isn’t it?” Lenore smiled and then pointed at the door. I felt out of breath as I followed the maid, across a dark hall and into a room where he stood. My mate. The one who ruined my life, the devil spawn himself. Looking at him alone made me want to vomit. I felt it again, that tug towards him. His dangerously blue eyes skimmed over my body, like a predator waiting quietly for its prey before it was ready to pounce. I was uneasy beyond remorse. Still, I garnered enough courage to speak, “I would like to— “Come Anora.” A command, a plea, I wasn’t so sure. With every step I took, it felt like I was plunging into a state of doom. He was so close and yet so far away. “I wish to speak to you.” I said as I joined him at the front, then another man appeared out of nowhere. He looked like a priest. The blood moon king smiled at me, “It can wait. Now let’s do it.” I blinked, “Do what?” My mate chuckled, “My sweet Anora. We’re going to get married.”Chapter Five I woke up to a room in the dark. Chapter Four His hand was warm, apart from the chilly feeling I got just from being near as he entwined my fingers with his. I felt a strong sensation overtake me, from his power I wasn’t so sure. It was like he could read my mind as he looked down at me. “You feel it too don’t you Anora?” I didn’t answer. He was a dangerous monster who could kill me with the snap of a finger. Instead I gulped hard as he stretched his other hand to brush my tear away, so soft and yet so callous. What was this man? “We should leave—- “Leave??” My eyes widened, “Where are you taking me?” He smiled again, crafty as usual, “To my home. You’ve surrendered yourself haven’t you?” I blinked exasperatedly, looking at my father’s defeated self and my fiancé still unconscious, then I looked back at him, my eyes clearly showing my pleas. I opened my mouth in protest, “But…but…” “You called out to me and I’m here to claim.” “But—- “You su
Chapter Three The Blood Moon King. It made no sense. The Blood Moon King was a myth, he was a tyrant who has lived for over 500 years. He was a monster according to tales of old, an immortal being who brought nothing but destruction onto the world. There was no way he was the one, the one told in the books. The King of all Kings, the Alpha over all Alphas, the Lycan, a being of hybrid nature—The King of all the Alphas, the one who conquered the blood moon. I took a step back, shaking my head vigorously, “No….no it’s not possible— “What isn’t possible my Ano— “Stop that!!!” I cried out, “You’re not real! You’re a myth!” “Myth?” He snickered, a wicked one as he took a step closer, I took two steps away from him. He turned to father who groaned from the temple door, in which he was hurled at. “Leave him alone!” I said defiantly, knowing I was basically powerless against him and did what I knew best, my voice cracked now, “Please..” He
Chapter Two Claim? Mate? The naked man’s words made no sense to me. “I— “Stay back!” Zayn ordered me as he growled, “This is clearly a mad man looking to cause trouble.” He said to him, “Go away. This is no place for tolerance to intruders, I will hurt you that’s for sure.” He laughed, the beautiful naked man laughed, a wicked guffaw, “So strong and yet so naive.” I let out another surprise gasp. Most would cower in the face of the Alpha, but he stood headstrong, he was unfazed by Zayn’s threats. It scared me, the naked man scared me greatly. “What do you want?” My fiancée asked again. “I won’t repeat myself,” He now looked at me, those blue eyes, “I’m here for her.” Me?? “Go away!” Father now yelled as he stepped between my fiancée and the one who came for me, “There’s no place for you here Rowan!” Rowan. I gasped again. Rowan, that’s the name of the man. “You know him??” I said aloud from behind Zayn.
Chapter One **ANORA** It was the blandest shade of beige. My mating dress, with ruffles that looked like that of a court jester, and a tulle skirt which reached the wooden floors. I stared at my reflection in the mirror, letting out a deep sigh as I definitely didn’t like what I saw. An unhappy bride. An unhappy mate. My mating ritual to Alpha Zayn was tonight. He was handsome, well above my age, the other women in the pack would grovel at their feet just to be with him and yet he chose me as his bride. Father took it at the first chance he got, after all no one was perfect for his Luna of a daughter except the strongest one in the pack. There was no bond between the Alpha and I. It wasn’t peculiar for two poeple in the pack to marry without having a bond. Mating bonds barely happened between two werewolves, and to continue the line arranged marriages are formed—Mating bond or not. I never wanted to get married, neither did I want a mate but I had no choice.
