LOGINGEMMA
No matter where I turned, all I heard were the voices of everyone laughing at me. They were all mocking me. My ears were filled with their laughter.
As usual, nothing good ever comes out of my life no matter what. I thought I would finally have something to smile about in my life but who was I kidding? There is nothing to smile about in this life of mine.
I made to run out but I slipped and fell, causing a roar of laughter to echo in the large hall.
I sat up and lowered my head, feeling the last piece of my heart, breaking off and leaving me empty. My body was numb and I was left to face the shame alone.
I shut my eyes allowing my tears to flow down like a rushing river.
"Such a shame!" I heard someone say from among the crowds.
Madam Margaret walked to me and squatted down, taking my chin between her fingers. She said, "My little advice to you is to go and end your life. Your existence is meaningless anyway. You are just on this earth to occupy space and suffer for the rest of your life. Just take matters into your own hands and end your misery."
I stared at her and swallowed hard. She was right. There is no need to live anymore. As if being controlled, I quickly stood up and ran out of the large hall, going to put an end to my misery.
....
"I Elias Sergio, reject you, Gemma D'Laurence, as my mate. From now henceforth, we aren't bound by anything or any emotions."
His voice filled my head no matter how I tried to shut it off, all I heard was that one voice I had come to hate so much.
My life got destroyed in just a blink of an eye. It's been destroyed since that incident ten years ago. That incident made me tagged the daughter of traitors.
I walked closer to the edge of the cliff and looked down at the height. I will die from that height. There is no way I will survive.
'My little advice to you is to go and end your life. Your existence is meaningless anyway. You are just on this earth to occupy space and suffer for the rest of your life. Just take matters into your own hands and end your misery.' I picked out the low voice among the voices whispering in my head. It was my madam's voice and I was going to do just as she instructed.
I will end my life. I will put an end to my misery. It would be better to spend eternity in hell than to stay a minute alive.
My life never started to be a misery. As a child, my life was blissful and filled with laughter. I had my parents by my side and I got everything I ever wanted. There was nothing I lacked.
My dad was an elder with the council and he was set to become an alpha of his pack. To my family, it was news to celebrate.
Even without the elections, it was so clear that my dad would win. People love and adore him. He had so many supporters by his side. But then, jealousy crept into the hearts of his opponent and the man whom he had considered his best friend.
He was like an uncle to me too. Along with the other opponents, they conspired to take my father down and end his family's reputation.
My father was accused of treason against the royal family and the werewolves and his punishment was death, along with his family. He was killed and every member of my family wasn't spared.
I was young and the one assigned to kill me pushed me aside the cause of greed. He should have just killed me and ended my misery then, but he trained me to be a slave. A slave in the Night scar packs for his benefit.
My heart now has been left in nothing but pain and sorrow. I swallowed hard and moved closer to the edge of the cliff. If I dared move a bit, I would fall down the height and there my life would end.
I shut my eyes and made to fall but I heard the sound of footsteps coming towards the cliff. I quickly looked back trying to see who was coming towards me.
Immediately his face came to view, my heart seized to beat for some second, and the words dried in my throat. He was still far and he hadn't seen me. Not that he would care anyway.
I remember his face clearly, the new king of the werewolves, my sworn enemy. Every member of the royal pack is my enemy. They all had their hands in my family's death. They all had a hand in my misery and despair.
I only heard the news about the former alpha king being dead and his son's coronation. Even though I hadn't seen him before, it was easy to recognize him. Elias's sister always fantasizes about being his wife. Well, every lady does.
I sighed deeply and looked away, taking my gaze back to the cliff. I need to end this before anyone finds me. I want to be gone and forgotten.
I shut my eyes and moved my legs, allowing myself to go freely to my death, but suddenly, a hand held my cloth, stopping me from going down. I was hanging in the air with my legs on the cliff edge.
"What do you think you are doing? Who told you you had the right to die?" The one who caught me said, holding me firmly and not letting go of me.
What kind of strength does he have?
I couldn't turn to see who rescued me. The people coming towards me had long stopped. I didn't hear their footsteps anymore. Even if they were coming towards me, they wouldn't get to me so quickly.
"Why are you so desperate to kill yourself?" He questioned and drew me back. I gasped as he locked me closer to him, my back resting against his body. "I never gave you the permission, my mate." He whispered into my ears, causing my body to shiver.
I swallowed hard and turned my head to get a glimpse of him. Not who I was expecting, my enemy!
GEMMAHe fell on top of me, signing and I listened to the sound of his breathing and heartbeat on top of me. He slid over till he was next to me.His hands wound around my waist and he pulled me to him, covering us up with the blanket. I was feeling a sense of calm and safety in his hands. I couldn't bring myself to leave him.I snuggled closer, a contented sigh escaping my lips. My eyelids grew heavy and I shut them, feeling the warmth of the man behind me. Strangely, I felt so at home here, in this man's bed, in this man's arms.I was home.***Right before he woke up, I snuck out of bed and put on my clothes hastily. He stirred to my nose and opened his eyes. I stood there, awkwardly, caught in the act of trying to flee."Gemma, hey," he let out, sitting up. My eyes trailed down to his lower abdomen and I quickly brought my eyes back to his.He was covered up in the blanket but the image of him of him naked last night was still engraved in my memory. I didn't need to imagine what w
GEMMANate kissed me but then he pulled apart and his eyes searched mine. "Are you sure? Earlier today—"I shut him up with a kiss, winding my hand around his neck. "Shut up," I said, startling myself. He was surprised too but, he quickly recovered. He grabbed my chin and kissed me before one of his hands slid to the back of my neck and he kissed me deeply. My knees grew weak as our kiss took on a more passionate feel. He held onto my waist with his other arm as I pressed into him.I realized how much taller than me he was. He lifted me with one hand and I wound my hand around his waist, not breaking the kiss.I wanted him so badly that I couldn't bear to stop kissing him. The need between my legs was testament enough. He carried me to the dresser, placing me on top of it. We pulled apart just briefly to look into each other's eyes. I think he saw something in mine because he kissed me again.I snuck my hand under his shirt, feeling his abs and muscular chest. I was going mental. He f
NATEHer lips were soft and warm, and I wound my hand around her waist, pulling her closer to me. She froze but after a while, she responded, tilting her head slightly. Her hands gripped the side of my clothes as if she was holding on. We were moving together, the kiss passionate and so desperately needy.I wanted more of her, I wanted to be closer. She pressed into me as if feeling the same need. My hands sank lower until they were resting on her hips. A moan escaped her lips as I tugged on her bottom lip.In one moment, we were enjoying a kiss that burned the depths of my soul, tangled in each other's arms. And the next, she was stepping away, a panicked look on her face.It was almost like couldn't get away from me any quicker. Like I burned her or repulsed her. The wind had never felt colder with the loss of her in my hands."Gemma…" I called, taking a step closer to her."I should go," she said quickly, turning on her heels and fleeing."Gemma, wait!" I tried to stop her but she
NATEThe next day, the soldiers were gathered in the main hall, ready to hear a word from me. I wore an official uniform and stood at the top of the staircase as they waited. The Luna Queen and George were waiting for me as well. When I stepped forward, they stood behind me. The assembled soldiers stood scattered around the hall. Some of them were talking, their faces lined with anxiety or the hardness of the past few days.I stood before them and cleared my throat. A few of them noticed me and they immediately stood at attention. This got the attention of their platoon leaders as well as the Alphas.Together, they said, "Attention! Salute!" Every soldier in the hall moved as one, stomping their feet on the ground and saluting.I saluted back, "At ease." I replied. I searched their faces before I took a deep breath and began."Brothers and sisters, today we stand on the brink of a battle that will define our future." I looked around as I said it."As you may all be aware, we are going
GEMMAI looked at George for a while, processing his words. "No, don't say that." I snapped."Gemma, just hear me out." He began."No, George!" I said, "Just stop there. I've believed and trusted everything you've said but, not this one. I can't believe this one.""You said you watched all your family die. What if…" George started."Don't finish that statement. Don't you dare say she's a fake?" I threatened.George pulled back, growing cold. He nodded. "Alright then. I just want you to have that at the back of your mind. Maybe she's not who she says she is. But, you can ask Elias. Ask him how your mother is doing and if she's still in his town."And if he says yes, it's a lie or he has no idea. The scout hasn't seen your mother in that town in a week." George said. I kept mute, watching him."I know a lot is going on and we have to focus on getting rid of the Obsidian Wolves but, have it at the back of your mind. We'll have to cross that bridge when we get there." George said."Thank
GEMMA"Are you asking me out on a date when I just want to know how my mother is doing?" I asked, choosing to tease Elias. It was a welcome distraction from everything that was going on.He shrugged, a smile playing on his lips. "Is it? If a date sounds like too much, let's call it a friendly meet-up. Over lunch," he said."Alright. Let me just go finish things up with George, and then we can go wherever you want," I said."Perfect," Elias replied. I smiled. As I turned away from him, the smile left my face.I didn't quite fully trust Elias. But, he was joining us for this fight and I had to be nice. After wrapping up my conversation with George about the latest strategies and ensuring that everything was in place for the upcoming fight, I found Elias waiting for me outside, right where I had left him.He leaned against a pillar, casually putting his hands into his pockets. When he saw me, he pushed off the pillar and came to me."Ready?" he asked."Yeah, let's go," I said, trying to
