Chapter 12 - Unwanted Jealousy

Edmund never liked nor sympathized with weaklings.

Being resilient and unbreakable were family traits, teachings inoculated in his behavior from a young age. Therefore, it was understandable to be grueling for him to see Isabella so weak, yet there was something about her that made his protective instincts explode.

Watching her laying in the bed, so innocent and vulnerable, but so exhausted, it was difficult to digest, it made him want to do the impossible to make it better for her.

She was not frail when she fought against his accusations, she was not insecure either when she discarded his marriage proposal so many times. She was not actually weak, she was just a concerned sister, Luisa was the only family she had left.

Well… except him. He was now her husband, her family, and he would have to explain that to her very clearly.
