LOGINIRIS POV:
The car kept moving north for what felt like forever. The highway slowly turned into narrower roads, then into private lanes lined with tall pines. No more billboards. No more lights from other packs. Just the soft glow from the dashboard. Finally, the Rolls-Royce slowed. Tall iron gates appeared ahead, opening automatically as we approached. Beyond them stretched an estate that took my breath away. Massive stone walls, perfectly trimmed hedges, fountains lit up with soft gold light, and a main house that looked more like a modern palace than a home. Everything screamed money and power. The kind only Trillionaires could own. As the car rolled to a stop in the circular driveway, men in black suits stepped out from the shadows. Bodyguards. At least ten of them. All holding guns, big ones, held low but ready. Their faces were hard, eyes sharp. They looked like they would shoot first and ask questions later. The driver opened Aurelian’s door. He stepped out calmly, like this was normal. The guards moved toward him fast. “Sir, you shouldn’t go out alone,” one of them said. “Especially not tonight. The protocols…” Aurelian raised one hand. “It’s fine. I just needed some air. A short drive. No issue.” The guards exchanged quick looks but stepped back. Aurelian started walking toward the house without another word. He forgot me. I sat there for a second, still in my ruined wedding gown, feeling stupid. Then I pushed the door open and stepped out. My heels clicked on the stone. The train of the dress dragged behind me like a heavy chain. “Aurelian,” I called. The guards spun toward me so fast I almost jumped. Their guns lifted just a little. Their eyes turned dark with anger, like I had no right to say his name out loud. One of them took a step forward, looking ready to grab me. Aurelian stopped. He turned slowly. “Easy,” he said to them calmly but boldly. “She’s a guest.” The guards lowered their weapons right away, but their faces stayed hard. They watched me like I was a threat. I swallowed and started walking. The gown dragged across the ground, picking up dirt and small stones. I felt small and out of place next to all this luxury. Aurelian waited at the top of the wide steps. When I reached him, he opened the huge double doors without a word. Inside, the house was even more impressive: high ceilings, marble floors, crystal lights that looked like falling stars. It smelled clean, like cedar and fresh rain. He led me up a curving staircase, then down a long hallway. We stopped at a door made of dark wood. He pushed it open. The room was huge. A massive bed with white sheets, a sitting area with soft chairs, a wall of windows looking out at the forest, and a walk-in closet that was bigger than my father's bedroom at our mansion. Clothes hung neatly, dresses, shirts, jeans, everything in simple but expensive fabrics. “Change into something comfortable,” he said. “Pick whatever you like.” I stood there for a moment, confused, wanting him to give me space or turn back or something rather than standing there looking at me. He looked at me, head tilted. “You can’t get out of that dress by yourself.” He was right. The back was full of tiny buttons and a tight corset tie. I had needed help even to put it on, but I didn't stand there for that reason. I stood there so he would leave, but he didn't. I turned my back to him slowly. My face burned. He stepped closer. His fingers moved slowly, unhooking my buttons one by one. He didn’t turn away. He didn’t act shy or polite about it. He just did it like it was nothing, like he had every right to look. When the dress loosened, he stepped back and sat in one of the chairs. He pulled out his phone and started scrolling, eyes on the screen. I let the gown fall to my waist. I stood there in my bra and underwear, arms crossed over my chest. I glanced at him. He was watching. Not staring openly, but peeking from the corner of his eye. When he saw me catch him, he didn’t look away. He just smiled a little, like he didn’t care that I noticed. My cheeks went hot. I turned fast and tried to untie the rest of the dress. My fingers shook. I couldn’t reach the last knots. He noticed. Without a word, he stood up and walked over. His hands came around me again from behind. He loosened the final ties. The dress slid down completely. Now I was almost naked. He didn’t step back right away. He stayed close. His eyes moved over me, slow, calm, like he was allowed to look as much as he wanted. Something in his stare made my stomach flip. Not fear exactly. Something else. I stepped back. He stepped forward. I stepped back again, and he stepped forward. My back hit the wall. He reached past me and pressed something behind my shoulder. A soft click. A hidden panel slid open, revealing a luxury bathroom, marble everywhere, a huge glass shower, gold fixtures. “You need a shower,” he said quietly. I didn’t argue. I ran into the bathroom like it was the only safe place left in the room. The door shut behind me. But it wasn’t a normal door. It was thick frosted glass. Blurry, but not completely private. I could see his shape standing on the other side, tall, still, watching. I was sure he could see me too. I turned on the water fast. Hot steam filled the air. I stepped under the spray and let it hit me. My skin burned from the heat, but I didn’t care. I scrubbed fast, trying to wash away the night, the ceremony, the video, the tears, everything. When I finished, I grabbed a thick white towel and wrapped it around myself tight. The glass door opened with a soft hiss. No handle on my side. Just his fingerprint, I realized. This was his room. His space. His rules. I stepped out, water still dripping from my hair. Aurelian stood there, closer now. “Tell me,” he whispered, “are you frightened of what happens inside you the moment I’m near?” I froze, the towel pressed against my chest. “I… I…” My voice trembled. He stepped closer, a smirk playing on his lips. My pulse spikes; it’s as if he can see right through me.IRIS POV:"Doesn't seem to me your Lycan boy made it out." Nicholas laughed.I kept my face down, staring at the floor. I was not going to give him the pleasure of seeing my tears.I noticed Diana shift beside him.It was clear she didn't know what happened or what Nicholas had made happen."Look at me when I speak to you, Iris." Nicholas commanded.I ignored him and kept my face down. His footsteps moved closer to the bars.I raised my head slowly and looked at him. "So you brought me here so I could see your face? Well, you look great, Nicholas." I said flatly. He laughed. "I am glad you noticed.""I am actually surprised to see you. Fiona promised she would take care of you and Aurelian." he said. "I wonder why she didn't. Well, maybe I will. Maybe I'll do the dirty work myself." he said, stepping closer to me.I stood up from the cot. "You don't scare me, Nicholas."Diana was watching, and she wasn't comfortable. Her eyes kept moving between us.Diana frowned. "What do you mean by
IRIS POV:My mother stood up and walked to the window, looking out."There are cars everywhere," she said. "Men in uniform.""Mum, step back from the window," I said. She stepped back.Serah was already moving toward the hallway, looking toward the front door."We can go out the back," Serah said."And go where?" I said. "They said the property is surrounded.""Then we stay inside," my mother said firmly. "Nobody is taking my daughter out of my house.""Mum…""Nobody," she repeated.A knock came at the front door. The three of us stood still. Then another knock came again."Miss Calloway, we are authorised to enter by force if you do not comply."My mother looked at me.Staying in here was not going to end well. They would break the door down, and I didn't want that happening in my mother's house. I didn't want these men inside these walls."Don't open it," Serah said quietly."If I don't, they come in anyway," I said. "And Mum is here."Serah looked at me."Iris," she said."Stay wit
IRIS POV:The drive home was long and quiet.Serah kept her eyes on the road the whole time. She didn't ask me anything. She didn't try to fill the silence. She just drove, and I sat in the passenger seat and watched the streets pass outside the window.I had stopped crying somewhere on the highway. Not because I felt better. Just because there was nothing left to come out. When we turned into my street, my chest tightened.Serah parked and turned off the engine."You ready?" she asked."No," I said."Don't worry, you are," she said, and opened her door.I got out.I walked to the front door and knocked. I didn't have my key. I didn't have anything.I heard footsteps inside. Then the door opened and my mother stood there in her house clothes. She looked at me.Her face was filled with shock and relief. She stepped forward and pulled me into her arms.“Iris, oh my baby, I thought I would never see you again after I was told you were taken.”I didn't plan to cry again. I genuinely thoug
IRIS POV:My eyes opened. I was still in the same room, but the white gas was gone. The air was clear. I was sitting on the floor with my back against the glass wall.I heard a soft click. Then the glass slid down slowly in front of me like a panel lowering into the floor, and the room opened up.Aurelian stepped through. He crouched down in front of me and slid one arm under mine, lifting me up from the floor. He walked me to the chair in the corner and lowered me into it carefully.I didn't fight him. I didn't have the energy. He crouched in front of me again, his elbows on his knees, and looked at my face for a long moment."How do you feel?" he asked quietly."Like I've been knocked out twice in one day," I laughed a little. He smiled and nodded slowly. The room was quiet. I could hear Serah somewhere behind him, standing near the wall, but she was not saying anything."Do you remember?" he asked. "Everything. From before Cassian. From before the cell. Do you remember how it actua
IRIS POV:My eyes opened slowly.Cassian's scream still lingered in my head. What did Aurelian do to him?I stared at the ceiling. It was unfamiliar. I sat up slowly, my head felt very heavy. I looked around the room. It was clean and completely empty. Three solid walls surrounded me, and the last wall was glass that looked like a mirror. I could only see my own reflection staring back at me. I couldn't see anything behind it.I didn't know this place.I swung my legs off the bed and stood up slowly. I waited until the room stopped shifting, then walked toward the glass. Then it changed. My reflection blurred for a second, and the glass turned completely clear.I froze. There was a room on the other side. Aurelian was standing with his arms folded, watching me. Behind him were his men. And then I saw Serah, standing slightly apart, her hand wrapped tight around Stephen's arm.My breath caught.Stephen looked pale.I pressed my hand flat against the glass and stared at all of them.Wha
IRIS POV:I stood there, terrified. Cassian's eyes left the man on the floor and found me at the top of the stairs. His face shifted the moment he saw me."Iris," he said, his eyes widening. "I said you should stay in no matter what you heard.""I… I…" Stammering, I took a step backward.Aurelian's golden eyes moved from Cassian's face to mine. Then back to Cassian, then he smiled."Iris, run!" Cassian commanded. Before I could move, Aurelian lunged, hitting Cassian, both of them crashing into the wall. The entire room shook from the impact.Aurelian's jaws clamped onto Cassian's shoulder."Aurelian, stop," I shouted, but he didn't listen.Cassian grabbed Aurelian by the neck, but Aurelian twisted his whole body and threw him. Cassian hit the floor and slid, knocking over a table.Aurelian then looked at me, taking a step closer to the stairs. My heart skipped a beat. I didn't think, I ran, my legs carrying me back up the stairs and down the hallway. My breathing was loud in my ears.
IRIS POV: Julie's eyes narrowed. "What's happening?" Sarah and I looked at each other again. "Nothing," I said. "You're lying." Julie dropped her bag on the floor and walked straight to the wardrobe where Sarah was standing. She looked at the dresses laid out on the bed. Then she turned bac
IRIS POV: The driver pulled up outside my house just after noon. I sat in the car for a moment before getting out. I got out, and the Rolls Royce pulled away silently behind me. I walked up to the front door. My father was in the sitting room. He was in his chair by the window, the one
IRIS POV: I was still sitting on the edge of the bed when the door opened. Aurelian walked in, dark shirt still open at the collar, his phone in his hand, and his expression completely composed. But his eyes were different. Something was moving behind them that he was working very hard to k
IRIS POV:His mouth hovered a breath from mine, close enough that I could feel the heat of him. My pulse hammered in my throat, loud enough that I was sure he could hear it.Then he closed the last inch with a kiss.He kissed me slowly like he was giving me one final chance to pull back. I didn’t.
