I saw Julian standing in front of the bedroom window, looking out at the green garden. There was something in the way he stood, no longer tense like yesterday, but there was still a weight visible on his shoulders. I walked closer, hugging him from behind, and rested my head on his back.

"You're thinking about something," I said softly.

Julian sighed, his hand reaching for mine wrapped around his stomach. "I'm thinking about us. About what happened. About how we're going to face all of this."

  • Claimed by My Ex-Husband's Uncle: His Plus-Size Desire   Chapter 103

The days passed slowly. Julian was still lying in the intensive care unit, his strong body now fragile, filled with tubes and cables connecting him to the machines that kept him alive. I spent every minute I could by his side, talking to him, hoping, praying that he would wake up soon. The doctor said that the injury to his head was quite serious. There was bleeding in the brain that would take time to heal. They couldn't say for sure when Julian would wake up, or whether he would fully recover. Every day was a struggle, every night a prayer.I cared for Julian as best I could. I read books to him, played his favorite music, told him about William and Roseanne. I hoped my voice, my presence, would help him find his way back to the real world."I'm here," I whispered every time I sat beside him. "I'm not going anywhere. I'm waiting for you. We're all waiting for you. Please, wake up. Please, come back to me."William often asked about his father. I tried to explain in a way he could un

Diego shook his head, his eyes appearing sincere, but I couldn't trust him. After everything that had happened, after all the lies and manipulation, how could I believe that he came with good intentions?"I never wanted Julian to get hurt. Whatever happened between him and me, he's still my uncle."I laughed bitterly, tears starting to well in my eyes."Your uncle? You really dare to say that? After everything you've done? You tried to take his son, you made our lives miserable, and now you come here pretending to care?""I'm not pretending. I really do care. I—""Enough!" I shouted, my voice echoing in the silent waiting room. A few nurses turned to look at us, but I didn't care. I was too tired, too hurt, too broken to care about politeness."I don't want to hear your words. I don't want to see you here. Go, Diego. Go and never come back."Diego seemed shocked by my outburst. He stepped back, but his eyes still looked at me pleadingly."Please listen to me. I know I've made many mis

The days passed, and Julian slowly began to show progress. He could already open his eyes, even if only briefly, and sometimes he could respond with nods or hand movements. The doctor said it was a good sign, that he was fighting to recover.I spent every moment I could by his side. When I wasn't in the intensive care unit, I was with William and Roseanne, trying to give them a sense of normalcy amid this chaos. William still often asked when Daddy would come home, and I kept reassuring him that Julian would be fine. But there was one thing that bothered me more than the pain in my body, more than the worry about Julian. Not a single member of Julian's extended family came to visit. Not Victor, not Margaret, no cousins or nephews or anyone. They completely ignored us.At first I thought maybe they didn't know. Maybe the news about the accident hadn't reached them. But then I heard from one of the nurses that they had contacted Julian's family, and they only said they "couldn't come" f

When I opened my eyes, I didn't know how long I had been unconscious. What I knew was that there was incredible pain all over my body, and there were faint voices around me. I tried to move my hand, but it felt heavy, as if there was a weight pressing it down."Ma'am? Ma'am, can you hear me?"I blinked, trying to focus on the source of the voice. A nurse with a tired yet caring face looked at me, her hand holding mine gently."Where... Julian..." I whispered, my voice hoarse and broken. The nurse was silent for a moment, and I saw anxiety in her eyes."Mr. Julian is in intensive care, ma'am. He survived, but his injuries are quite serious. The medical team is doing their best for him."I tried to get up, but the stabbing pain in my head made me fall back."My children... William... Roseanne...""Your children are fine, ma'am," the nurse said quickly, trying to calm me. "William only has minor bruises, and Roseanne didn't sustain any serious injuries. They're being cared for in another

Let's get away from here for a while. Away from all of this, from Diego, from Victor, from the gossip and pressure. I want us to go somewhere where we can forget all of this."I was surprised. "Vacation? Now?""Yes," he said, smiling. "We need a break. We need time for ourselves, for our family. We can't keep being this stressed. We'll go to a beach villa far from the city. Just the four of us. No on

I felt Julian's body trembling on top of me, every muscle tense, every breath heavy. There was something different in the way he made love to me tonight, not just passion, but desperation. As if he was trying to convince himself that I was still here, that we were still whole, that everything we built wouldn't be destroyed by the truth that had just been revealed."I can't lose you. I can't lose William. You two are everything to me."I reached for his face, forcing him to look at me. His eyes were wet, and I saw tears streaming down his cheeks. Julian, the strong one, Julian who was always my fortress, was now crying on top of me, pouring out all the pain he had held in all day."You won't lose us. We're here. We're not going anywhere.""But I'm not his biological father. I'm not his flesh and blood. What if one day he chooses Diego? What if he leaves me for his biological father?"I felt immense pain in my chest hearing his words. Julian, who was always so confident, so strong, was

Two weeks later. The courthouse stood tall with its classic European-style architecture. Its white marble pillars seemed to have witnessed thousands of divorces within its walls. I could barely feel my feet touching the ground as I walked out of the Mendoza Corporation building. My head was still spinning, replaying every word that had come out of Julian's mouth."You're not ugly, Lorena. I'm one of the men who likes curvy women."What did he mean by that?Impossible. He wa
