The weekend passed by peacefully.

Apart from the cooking we did on Friday evening, we ordered take outs for the rest of the weekend. It was a lazy one as we spent it watching movies with bad acting and even worse dialogue. That was all thanks to Serena. She called them classics.

We ate the turkey sometime around midnight on Friday, then forgot about it in the fridge until Sunday morning when we ate cold slices.

And not once did we have sex.

Which was strange because the foundation of our relationship was sex.

But this weekend, our hands didn’t wander. It always ended with soft caresses or deep kisses that led nowhere.

It was quite intriguing.

It showed just how much we’d come to enjoy each other’s presence.

So as I said, the weekend was peaceful.

But that was until my phone started ringing.

I ignored it the first four times until Rafael spoke up. “Are you going to get that or are you going to let it go to voicemail like the last four times?”
