“Kill him, Rhience.” Is what I would have said but I’d much rather kill Julian myself. Instead I say, “Don’t kill him, Rhience. He’s not worth it.” Rhience hesitates for a while but when I give him a slow nod of my head, he throws my ex mate to the ground with a force I can only describe as beastly. I flinch lightly at the hard thud when Julian’s back comes in contact with hard marble. A series of relieved gasps fill the air as the dangerous energy in the room disappears, although not completely. Everyone’s eyes are now on me as Rhience takes my hand in his. “I will kill anyone who dares to attack my mate. She is my future Luna and your future queen, so a threat against her is a threat against me. If anyone so much as looks at her wrong or disrespect her, I will wipe away their entire pack. Do I make myself clear?!” The declaration and question travels across the whole room, everyone replying with a “yes your majesty.” “Alpha Lenon. Get your pup away from my presence. I do not want to see him again, otherwise you and your entire pack will be rid of a future alpha. Take my mercy as a favor to my mate. You may leave.” He commands Julian’s father who has a scared look on his face.Alpha Lenon takes Julian with him and they both scurry out of the celebration hall. My family quickly tail behind, but not before my mother turns and gives me a murderous look. “You didn’t have to do that, Your Majesty." I say. Quietly observing his handsome features. “You underestimate my loyalty to you Lisandra. I would do anything to protect my mate’s honour.” A sigh leaves my lips as my cheeks turn pink. “ Thank you, but I don’t think you should have told all the alphas in attendance that I am your mate.” A look of questioning mares his face. “And why not? Did I tell a lie?” I’m silent thinking of any other excuse to give him so that he’ll forget about wanting me as his mate. “I-I don’t have a wolf.” I'm expecting disgust to appear on his face but all I see is a raised eyebrow and an expression that says ‘So?’ “I’m wolfless. I don’t have a wolf. I’m practically useless and I can’t be your Luna without a wolf.” Technically it’s true. He is the most powerful Lycan currently in existence, and I might know magic, but I’m no queen material. I can’t even imagine what he’ll do if he happens to find out that I have magical powers. He’ll probably kill me on the spot. “I don’t care if you do not have a wolf, Lisandra. Who says you can’t rule a kingdom just because you’re wolfless?” his words melt my heart but I’m hesitant. This was not the plan. I had a solid plan to leave tonight and I have to stick to my plan. I shake my head repeatedly. “No, no, no. I’m leaving this pack tonight but I’m not leaving with you? I’m not going to leave one torture chamber onto another.” An angry emotion takes over his features “What do you mean by torture chamber? Who tortured you? Tell me Lisandra.” He asks me, putting his both hands on each side of my shoulders gently. “It doesn't matter now, Rhience. This isn’t going to work between us. I’m sorry.” I free myself from his hold and run out of the celebration room with thousands of eyes trailing my every movement, not looking to check if he’s coming after me. I run and run until I reach my house and once I’m in my room, I pick up the small duffel bag which I had already packed earlier. I don’t know what’s beyond here. Heck, this is going to be my first time wandering out of the pack grounds but I have to do this for myself and for my freedom. I rush out of my house, not looking back because I have nothing to look back to. The only person who made this godforsaken place memorable for me stabbed me behind my back. I won’t miss this place one bit. I bump into someone and it gives me a deja vu feeling of how I bumped into Rhience earlier tonight. Funny enough, he’s currently standing in front of me. “Where do you think you're going, Little mate?” A gasp almost leaves my lips at his nearness but I suppress it. “I don’t know, but it’s definitely not with you. Now move.” A slow, but sure smirk creeps up his lips. “That is not happening Darling. You are not going anywhere. You will only come back to my pack with me.” He sounds so sure of himself and that kind of aggravates me “I won’t come with you Rhience. Soon you’ll realize that I’m not the right one for you. What would your pack members say about having a wolfless woman as their Luna ? What would the entire kingdom say?” His eyes move to my lips and it stays there for a second longer before moving back to eyes again, only that the steely gray is a bit darker. Is he…? “ I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again Darling. I don’t care what anyone says. You are my mate. You belong with me and you are coming back with me tonight. Whether you agree or not.” Before I can even realize what is going on, I’m no longer on my feet. Instead I’m upside down with my face in line with a suit covered ass.Lisandra I rush back into the meeting room, stumbling quite a few times before I successfully make it. I burst into the room and all eyes are on me. I know I look off. My cheeks are flushed and my heart beat is faster than it was when I left this room. They can all probably hear it.“What happened to you darling?”” Rhience asks me via mind-link and I shake my head to tell him that everything is fine. I don’t want to alarm him just yet in case I turn out to be wrong.“Is something the matter, Lisandra?” It’s Alyssa who asks this time and she has a really concerned look on her face. I observe her face very well. The similarities between our features are very uncanny. I am very positive that in the next few centuries I will look exactly like she does, minus the eyes.“Lisandra?”If she turns out to be my mother after all, my heart will be so full of joy.“Lisandra?”I will finally know what it feels to have a mother’s love. I don’t even notice that her mouth is still moving because I’m
LisandraRhience growls at Nazar angrily and Alyssa has to intervene before they actually start a full blown war.“Rhience, congratulations on finding your mate. She is very pretty.” She gives me a small smile.“You are far too kind Alyssa. You look stunning yourself.” Her smile grows wide which causes me to smile. Both of the men are gaping at us in wonder.“Shall we begin the meeting?” She speaks again and we all nod.“To be quite honest, I don’t really see the reason why we are having this meeting. Everything is absolutely fine.” Nazar says smugly which causes Rhience to growl loudly again.“Your vampires have been intruding our lands and causing nuisance, Nazar. So, yes. There is every need for this meeting.” I speak up for Rhience and Alyssa nods at me in respect. Nazar looks at me and a smirk forms on his lips. A look of mischief and admiration crosses his face. “Well, Queen Lisandra, I assure you that I do not know anything about that. I’m sure they are just acting out of tur
Lisandra. When Rhience said the meeting was going to be held on neutral grounds, I didn’t expect the neutral grounds to be void-like.We didn’t even use any mode of transport. We just…teleported.“You can teleport?”I ask him the question in bewilderment. I wasn’t aware that teleportation was one of his many different abilities.“I’m a witch and I can’t even teleport, so how can you?” Now I’m jealous of his abilities. A laugh leaves his mouth as we keep on walking into the void. Where we are walking to, I have no idea.“Are you jealous, Queen Lisandra?” He asks jokingly and I huff in playful annoyance. “Duh? Of course I am. It’s like you’re the moon goddess’s favorite creation.”“That, I am darling.” He grins and we keep on walking until he comes to a stop. I stop right behind him and he sinks his hand inside his coat pocket, bringing out a small bag of something.“What’s that?” I ask, curiosity getting the best of me.“You’ll see.” He goes to the far end of the surrounding and starts
LisandraNala throws herself at me in a brutal attack, her fist flying toward my face with raw force. I barely have time to react before my instinct takes over. I duck low and drive my own fist into her midsection. The impact makes her stumble back a step, her eyes widening in pure shock. She didn’t expect that. She didn’t expect me to fight back this hard.“You’re stronger than you look,” she hisses, recovering quickly and launching another flurry of punches. I block the first, dodge the second, and counter with a sharp jab to her jaw. The crack of impact against skin echoes across the training grounds.Around us, the other warriors begin to slow their own spars. One by one they stop completely, turning to watch. I feel their eyes on us, but I don’t care. All I see is Nala’s arrogant face and the memory of her sitting in my chair like she belonged there. She comes at me again, faster this time, swinging with everything she has. I meet her head-on. My fists move hard and fast, matchin
Lisandra.“You already know the story of my abuse, adoptive parents and all. I figured out that I had magic when I was fifteen and I started practicing in secret. I didn’t have much material, but I found a small spell book at Lunar ridge’s central library. Not sure what it was doing there though. I stole it and nobody ever found out.”“You’re so brave, darling. What about your sister? Tell me about your relationship with her.” A smile crosses my lips at the mention of Genevieve, but it quickly diminishes when the memory of her betrayal crosses my mind. “Genevieve…she was the only family who treated me like a normal person. Gen didn’t fault me for not having my wolf when I turned eighteen. She was the only one who loved me in that whole pack.” I pause as a drop of tear slips down my cheek. “When I caught her with Julian,it broke my heart. Her betrayal devastated me more than Julian’s. It broke me that my own sister, whom I did everything in my power to protect, could even think of bet
Lisandra. I grunt in exhaustion but I don’t stop. I keep on hitting the warrior, and instead of him fighting back, he’s just taking the hits.“Hit me back, dammit” “Your majesty, I’m exhausted. We have been going at it for an hour.” I pause and look at Mona who is sitting by the side.“He’s right Lisa. I think you need to rest for a bit.”“I don’t, Mona. What I need to do is to train.”“I love you Lisa, but I’m not fighting with you anymore. You almost dislocated my shoulder.” I wince at her words.“Sorry Mona. I’m just so…angry.” I face the warrior again and keep hitting.“Yeah. I’m sure the whole palace can tell.”“H-he allowed that woman into our home. The bitch thinks she can have him.” I hit the warrior so hard that he falls flat on his back.“Well, it’s a good thing that she can’t. I think you need to relax. Rhience has eyes only for you.”“Yeah, right.”“She is right darling. I only have eyes for you and no one else.” An inaudible gasp leaves my lips at his voice. I turn to s
