The handsome stranger pulls me back into his arms, unknowingly stopping me from doing something that I might regret. "Lisa. That was just a misunderstanding-" I cut him off immediately. "Leave me alone Julian. It's over between us.” He wants to say something when my supposed new mate cuts him off. “I think you heared the lady.” Julian shrinks at the authority in the man’s voice and flees without any further argument. How pathetic. "I didn't get your name.” I tell the stranger, turning to face him and I realize that there’s barely any space between us. This man is easily the hottest man I’ve seen in my life and it’s off putting. “Rhience… you can call me Rhience.” I pull away from him to put some space between us. “Okay Rhience. This cannot happen. I don’t want to be your mate and I genuinely don’t care if the moon goddess gave me a second chance. I don’t need one. Now if you’ll excuse me…” I sidestep him and and I go down the stairs towards the celebration hall. I can still feel his gaze as I enter the celebration hall and a shiver goes down my spine. Who is Rhience? And why does he have such dangerous energy surrounding him? *** The gala is going on in full swing. Expensive dresses and tuxedos fill the room together with pheromones and auras strong enough to knock an omega down. I have been moving around trying to avoid coming in contact with my parents, sister or Julian for that matter. I have been seeing Julian prancing around with Genevieve in his arms, looking like nothing happened in his room. They’re both with my parents and his, smiling like they’re one big happy family. I’m standing by an extravagantly decorated table and thinking to myself when a loud horn interrupts my line of thought. The music douses instantly and people stand frozen in anticipation. The room quietens instantly with soft murmurs filling the entire space. All heads turn toward the gigantic double doors of the celebration hall and the pack guards strike their spears against the hard floors creating a uniform war-like sound. Then a man who looks like a royal herald appears in a red, purple and gold outfit embedded with the crest of the Lycan kingdom. He unfurls a scroll rimmed with gold and raises his voice with practice authority. “All rise for his imperial majesty…” All the nobles who are sitting quickly rise on their feet. Some even hold their breath in both fear and excitement. This was the first time everyone was meeting the Lycan king in a decade. The herald’s voice grows louder, carrying effortlessly to every corner of the grand hall. “Direct descendant of the first Lycan king and our very own goddess Selene” “Supreme alpha of all alphas “ “Guardian of the most sacred moon throne, his royal majesty…,” the doors creak open and a cold breeze sweeps through the entire room. “Alpha King Rhience Lycaon Pendragon.” Shock courses through my body and a soft gasp leaves my lips. Could it be? Rhience , my supposed second chance mate, is really the Lycan king? His tall and commanding presence emerges from the entrance, forcing every powerful figure to go on their knees in submission. I’m again starstuck by his presence that I don’t realize that I’m the only one in the entire room who is standing. I feel a pull on my arm, bringing me to my knees and turn to see that it’s one of my pack members. I look again at the entrance as he walks slowly to the center of the room, his gaze slowly rakes through the entire room. as if looking for something and once he catches my eyes, his eyes flash a deep golden before going to the normal grey. As he stands in the center of the room, a deep grow leaves his lips, shaking the entire room, emanating his raw power and dominance over the entire Lycan species. “You may all rise.” And like a spell is broken everyone stands and bows their head in his direction, then the music continues and everyone goes back to what they were doing.I thought Lilah said that the king was an old and ugly beast who eats his own kind? I guess the rumors she heard were wrong. I sit with some of the pack members instead of my family, even if they look at me like I don’t belong here. With a roll of my eyes I cut a piece of chicken and put it into my mouth.I continue eating when I hear a chair pull up beside me. I look at the person, surprised to see that it’s Rhience. From the corner of my eyes, I can see my mother and father snarling and baring their teeth at me. Genevieve looks surprised and Julian looks confused, like he wants to come to my table but is scared of the king’s presence. I ignore them and focus my gaze on Rhience once again. “Why didn’t you tell me you were the king? I ask him. “Would you have stayed?” He retorts and for a moment I think about lying but I don’t "No. But a heads-up would have been nice.” He smiles lazily at my reply and I see a flash of his canines. Goddess, he’s perfect. But I’m not ready to enter another relationship just yet. Besides, I’m sure he’ll try to kill me once he finds out that I am part-witch. "Go back to your table Rhience. You cannot be sitting with commoners.” I say facing my food and his reply leaves me astonished. “ But you’re not a commoner Lisandra. You are my queen.” He says it so loudly that the whole hall gasps loudly. I can see my parents face from the corner of my eyes twist in pure rage and agony. And Julian… He snaps. He storms across the hall to my table and grabs my arms forcefully enough to leave a bruise. “No! She's mine. I never agreed to the rejection!” He growls and before I can even think of pulling away, he yanks me against his chest and sink his canines towards my neck, trying to force a mark in front of everyone . I freeze in shock. Then I see Rhience from the corner of my eye. He moves faster than my eyes can follow. One second Julian is holding me. The next, Rhience has him by the throat, lifting him off the ground like he weighs nothing. Julian’s feet kick uselessly in the air as Rhience’s eyes burn pure gold and his claws dig into Julian’s neck, drawing blood. The entire celebration hall goes silent. Rhience then speaks and his voice is low, calm, and terrifying at the same time. “You just tried to mark my mate in front of me.”He tightens his grip and Julian starts choking, his face turning purple. Then Rhience turns his head slightly and looks at me, still holding Julian in the air like a ragdoll. “Tell me, My queen …” his voice drops even lower, “do you want him dead or alive?”Lisandra“The two of you tell me everything that happened.” Is the first thing that comes out of Gloria’s mouth when she sees the state that Mona and I are in when we return from the patrol the next morning. We all agree to meet up in the flower garden once we both freshen up. I head to my room and when I go into my closet to pick out clothes for the day, I find it empty.“Where the hell are my things?” I mutter to myself in confusion as I walk inside my bathroom just to find it empty too. I come out of the bathroom and crouch beside my my bed, looking under it to see if the grimoire is still where I left it. Thankfully, it is still there along with my old spell book. “If these are still here, then where the hell are the rest of my things?” I take the books and go over to Rhience’s room and when I knock, there is no response. I enter the room only to find it empty but I can hear the sound of the shower in the bathroom. I see my phone on one of his bed side tables and that is when I
In the ancient kingdom of Kelvanthor, Inside of the throne room of Kelvanthor’s castle sits King Nazar Vladimir, the king of all the vampires and he is consuming his goblet of blood when one of the soldiers that was sent on a raid to Lunaria comes in looking like a ruinous hazard with blood all over him. The soldier quickly falls on his knees and bows his head to the king.“ You may rise, Kaylen. I’ll take it that you and the others were not victorious in infiltrating Rhience’s territory?” The soldier does not say anything, nor stand from his position, his body is shaking in fear, anxiety and pain. “Your majesty, please have mercy. They were too strong for us.” The soldier begs for mercy knowing that the king will kill him for not being victorious in infiltrating the vampire kingdom. King Nazar just nods and without saying a word, he stands from his throne and walks towards the still kneeling Soldier. The soldier,Jalen crouches back hurriedly, shivering in fear of the king’s wrath.“
LisandraThey are immediately silenced at my words and I can still see hesitation in their faces.“I might be half witch but I am not your enemy. I have no reason to be. Your king is my mate and I would never do anything to hurt anyone in this pack or the entire kingdom.” I say once more to reassure them and when they still don’t say anything, Rhience gives the command on their behalf.“Go ahead Lisandra. Do it.” With his words, I begin chanting a very powerful healing spell which I got from the Grimoire. I touch the deep and gory wound and say the spell out loud.“Carne Resurgere!” The torn muscle and flesh of the wound starts to knit back together, a faint dark light stitching the edges of the wound. Milo groans deeply in pain and I’m just happy that the spell is working. The warriors gasp as they see Milo's deep wound getting healed in real time. Once I’m done, Milo has an exhausted look on his face and sleep takes over. I stand up and turn to face the warriors that are now weari
LisandraWhen I wake up, the first thing I see is Rhience’s face glancing at me. I sit up and I notice that we are back inside the tent.“I passed out, didn't I?” Rhience nods and just gives me a bottle of water to drink. “What you did out there Lisandra, it was very brave Darling. I’m proud of you.” I leap up and wrap my arms around his neck as a tear slips out of my eyes. It’s the first time someone has ever been proud of me. He holds me for a moment and when I finally get myself, I break the hug.“I had to help in some way. I couldn’t just stay and do nothing.”“I know Darling. You acted like a true queen out there.” His words make me happy but it does nothing to reassure me that I’m queen material. Would the subjects of Lunaria ever accept a half witch as their queen.“The warriors. Are they okay?” I ask and he’s about to answer me when we hear cries of help from outside the tent.“Your majesty! Help!” One of the warriors cries out and Rhience immediately rushes to his feet and l
LisandraI can tell that there is a bloodbath happening right outside the tent by the sounds and Mona coming in, almost covered in blood from head to toe. “Shit Mona, are you okay?” She’s panting as she takes my hand. “We have to get out of here Lisa. Now.” She doesn’t explain any further and drags me out of the tent. The air outside reeks of blood and there are a couple of bodies lying on the grassy ground. Some of them have their heads dislodged from their bodies and the rest of them look like a big chunk of flesh, veins and arteries have been torn out of their neck. I also see a couple of dead lycans on the floor and immediately, bile rises to my throat. "Where's Rhience?”I ask as she leads me to a path where the fight is still ongoing. She points to a large black wolf with glowing yellow eyes and it is currently biting off the head of a vampire. He is easily the largest wolf here and the largest wolf that I have ever seen in my life. We’re still walking fast when a male vampir
Lisandra“Pack some warm clothes Darling for tonight. It gets cold out in the woods.” Rhience tells me before he goes off with Aaron and Garett to prepare for the patrol. Gloria follows we to my room to pack and once we’re done, we go to meet Mona in she and Garett’s room. “Are you sure you want to do this Lisa?” Gloria asks in a worried tone. “It could be really dangerous if things go haywire tonight. Remember that you don’t have a wolf so you can’t shift yet.” I know she is concerned for me but nothing anyone will say can change my mind. I don’t know if I can trust them enough to tell them about the dream and me being a witch yet. Deep down in my heart, I know I need to go with Rhience tonight“I’m sure Gloria. I’ll be fine. Rhience, Mona and even the warriors will all be there so I doubt any harm will come to me.” I try to ease her concern with my words and I’m not so sure that it is working.“Stop worrying Gloria. I’ll take care of her.” It’s Mona ho speaks Thai time and I’m gr
