Chapter 95

RAYANA POV

I never actually thought I would succeed.

When I came up with the plan to help my husband with one of his problems, there were just too many variables. Too many obstacles.

If it wasn’t this then it was that…

At some point I even harboured the idea of throwing in the towel and go back to being the little trophy wife who was nothing but a lavish ornament on my husband’s arm, but with everything that was happening, there was no way!

I was well in the mafia world there was no way I was just going to sit still and do nothing.

“Your man hit the bloody jackpot when he married you.” Kimberly mused, her arms folded across her chest,

“You think I stand a chance? I mean you don’t mind swinging both ways do you?” She turned to look at me, causing me to scoff at her. We shared a serious look before the two of us burst out in a fit of laughter.

The past week showed me I had made the right decision when I lured her under my wing.

Kimberly was better off as a friend than

Chapter 97RAYANA POVI yelped when Alejandro picked me up and spun me around like I weighed nothing. Laughter bubbled from out of me as I melted into his hold, passion and warmth looping inside in me to form a rush of vigor that leaked into my stream like hot lava. I cradled the sides of his head and leaned in to kiss him. Molten lava exploded inside of me, spreading little meteoroids of pleasure that held all of my cells captive when he claimed my lips in a searing kiss. We kissed like we didn’t have an audience; him staking a claim on me while I submitted to his plundering. He pulled back for breath, and his eyes sparkled with a dangerous gleam of pure need. “Wait until we get him, Little Wife. I am going to sure you just how much I appreciate you.” His chest rumbled with his words, and the promise beneath his tone made me weak in the knees. I shuddered as he placed me onto my feet, then walked towards Antonio and started barking orders. There was an unmistakable glint of s

Chapter 96ALEJANDRO POVThe tightness crowding my chest refused to leave even as I sat on the corner of our neatly made bed, watching her leave the bathroom dressed in a matching set of black lace panties and a bra. She looked so stunning, so carefree, but I was still mad. So mad at her and if I laid my hands on her, then I was going to hurt her. Obviously, the way I would punish her would only end up with her writhing against my cock, as I ripped heavy orgasms from her. So I just sat back, my hands balled into fists so hard I could feel the sting of my nails in the palm of my hands. She walked into the closet while casually scratching her back. “You still haven’t answered me.” “Huh?” Her voice was loud compared to my calm, collected tone. “I asked you what the surprise was.” Silence stretched for a few heartbeats before she peeked through the door with a mischievous smile. “Now what will be the fun of going all out to take care of it only to tell you about it?” She was strug

Chapter 94ALEJANDRO POVI was running out of time! With Nikolai’s birthday just a few days to go, I realized I had been doing nothing but slagging my ass off while waiting for my men to clean up the mess. At some point, I wanted to be mad at myself for relying on my subordinates. I thought back to times when I depended on nobody and did all the dirty work myself. The time when I didn’t have this much power lying on my shoulders. You see, that’s one thing about power that people are not ready to discuss. It’s fun being up on top, having people bow and worship the very ground you walk on. It is even sweeter when you have the money to accompany that authority; have so much money that you end up not knowing what to do with it any more. But the other side of it; the much darker side of it is that the higher you climb, the lonelier it fucking gets. I didn’t think of it before, but it was a bloody burden. One that seemed to have been weighing on my shoulders for so long I got used to th

"Sneaky little bastard.” Kimberly’s angry curse yanked me from my musings. I focused on her to find her watching the road ahead of us. I watched as the van drove passed us at the cross intersection. Kimberly pulled to the side, then craned her neck as she watched the car driving off, then taking yet another second exit. “He is going to Risari.” She informed me like I knew where that damn place was. “But since he is shady as hell, he avoided the highway.” She was muttering almost to herself, but I nodded either way. She sped off in a different direction. I was compelled to ask why the hell didn't we follow him, but I decided to trust her. We drove for not more than five minutes before she took a sharp turn, and that’s when I realized she’d just entered a whole neighborhood using a different route. She slowed down a little as she craned her neck to look for the shady car. I was about to tell her to turn around and follow the damn guy when she let out a maniac laugh.“Hahaha! Got y

Chapter 92RAYANA POVTo say I was scared would be an understatement of the century. I was puzzled right through and wondered how the hell I was able to stand there and not started shaking like a damn leaf as soon as the realization hit me. But I schooled my features and went through the tricks the man taught me. I hated to admit it, but he knew his damn craft and prided himself in it. Every little thing he taught seemed to because to work like a bloody charm; and I learned even things the internet couldn’t even provide. I decided to settle for pretense. I played into the role of the little novice girl chunked into the middle of the underworld: I let him help me and became that defenseless little thing he could snuff out with a simple twist of the neck. And like I had predicted it, he fell for it. He flexed his man ego, and I let him bath in his temporary glory. The more I praised him, the more he ballooned with pride. When I was done with him, I ran after him inside the house. I

Chapter 91RAYANA POVI got busy! Like really busy. In my attempt to forget about the little murder waiting to happen in Russia, I buried my head in work. The back-and-forth calls from London to Italy and back kept me busy. If I was not in the ring punching a bag or shooting a target in the fields, I was holed up in Alejandro’s office taking care of the archduchy. Somehow in just a span of few days, I had managed to flip the entire office upside down. It looked nothing like the first time I stepped in here. Everything had been in its cradle; in its rightful spaces. The three giant monitors on the giant desk, the three bookshelves stacked to the brim with bazillion books… everything seemed to have come in threes, and everything was so immaculate. And a few days later, it looked like the Pakhan had dropped a bomb on it. But I didn’t mind. I was too busy mining money to even care about the tardiness I managed to create. Thank fuck the owner of this office was busy with his affairs to

Chapter 90RAYANA POV“The Pakhan invited you to his son’s birthday.” His words seemed to have an unknown echo to them as soon as they left his mouth. My brain instantly picked out how he said “you”, and not “me”. I opened my mouth to ask what the hell would the Pakhan want from me, but I realized that I had way too many questions and I didn’t know which one was of the greatest importance. Like was the son mentioned the one who placed a bounty on my head in an attempt to avenge his little gay lover… Or who the fuck is the pakhan… But one thing I knew at that moment was that of all places on this beautiful earth, Russia was the fucking last place I would ever want to go to. Especially after that incident with the Mossad that was still haunting me to this day. The surgery scar on my abdomen even tingled underwater at the memory. I swallowed, then averted my gaze from Alejandro’s piercing one. “You do not have to fear anything. I am coming with you.” He comforted me, but I wished

Chapter 89ALEJANDRO POVLorenzo and Kaito were already waiting by the time I reached La Luna Rossa. Their conversation died when I climbed the last stairs and reached the landing, then drew closer. Kaito moved to open the door to my office, but I beat him to it before throwing myself inside, then walked to my table and perched myself onto my high-rise chair and stared at them. They each took their seat in front of the desk. “So, what’s the rush?” I asked when they settled. Kaito shuffled a bit in his seat, drawing closer to the edge. He swallowed audibly, his nervous gaze meeting mine. I arched a brow at him, wondering just what the hell could have happened to put that look on his face. Especially when Kaito was the most trusted one when it came to schooling the features and masking off whatever one could be feeling on the inside.“Charlotte.” Ah! Explains it. My lips curled up in a knowing smirk. “She’s alright. Safe.” I comforted and his face literally welcomed back the red colo
