Synopsis

Love is a rebel that never plays by the rules. It lives to defy all odds. ~ My name is Seraphina Sterling, and Alexander Harrington is my mortal enemy. His world and mine are all about money and contracts and power. Yet, when an unexpected turn of events collided us together, an unlikely friendship sparked between us, and despite my every instinct, I allowed that friendship to blossom into love. A forbidden love that all odds have sworn to ruin. To tear apart into shreds. Despite after finding out that he is the son of my father’s fiercest rival, the CEO of Glimmering Vision, I still loved him. And he still loved me too, despite knowing that I am the sharp-tongued daughter of the CEO of Radiant Treasures. But then, in the blink of an eye, everything changed when our secret relationship came into the limelight. When the truth was revealed to our parents, I was made by my father to vow an oath never to see Alexander again, but being the defiant daughter that I am, I broke my vow to unite with the love of my life. However, every disobedience has a consequence, and my father has sworn to keep me away from Alexander, even if it means I have to be pawned off in an arranged marriage to the son of his business partner, Derrick Montrell. Now, Derrick is falling in love with me. He is getting obsessed and infatuated with me, also vowing to do anything to win my heart. But my heart already belongs to someone else, and Alexander has sworn to be damned over his dead body if he ever allows any other man to claim me.

Chapter 1

Her Parents were the most respected individuals in the city. They owned Radiant Treasures, the largest and most prestigious jewelry company around. People from all over, even from other cities, came to purchase our exquisite pieces.

Seraphina Sterling was the only daughter of the renowned business tycoons, Mr. Sterling and his elegant wife, Mrs. Vanessa Hudgens. Her life was a tapestry of luxury and indulgence. She never lacked anything. Their home was staffed with numerous maids, always at her beck and call.

“How can I walk to the mall, Mom? A beautiful princess like me needs a ride. Tell Dad to get me a cute car, or I’ll starve myself to death!” She declared dramatically at dinner one night.

“Oh, my baby girl, you know we love you and will do anything to make you happy. Don’t worry, you’ll get your car as soon as your father returns from his business trip,” her mom reassured her, patting my hand.

Despite their wealth, she wasn’t allowed to take any of the cars out without her dad’s permission. She hated that rule but had no choice but to comply. After dinner, she called her personal maid to clear the table.

“Hey, maid! Maid!” she called out impatiently.

“I’m here, my mistress,” she responded promptly.

“How dare you take so long? Didn’t I tell you to respond immediately? Have you gone nuts? Now clear the table and leave my sight,”

Her mom told her to calm down but she walked out on her and went to her room.

She was listening to her favorite music when her mom entered the room. She sighed and paused the music, knowing she had something important to say.

“Seraphina, can we talk?” her mom asked gently, sitting beside me on the couch.

“Sure, Mom. What’s up?”she replied, trying to keep her tone neutral.

“We’ve decided to enroll you in a new school. It’s the most prestigious institution in the city, and we believe it will be beneficial for you,” she explained.

She frowned. “What’s wrong with my current school?”

Her Mom took a deep breath. “Your father and I feel that the environment there isn’t conducive to your growth. The school is becoming less refined and we want you to associate yourself with people of your caliber”

Seraphina considered her words. “Alright, but if I’m going to switch schools, I want a new car.”

She smiled, relieved. “I’ll talk to your father about it. I’m sure we can work something out.”

After their conversation, she received a call from my friends.she answered, trying to keep my irritation in check.

“Hey, guys. What’s up?” she asked.

“We heard you’re changing schools. Is it true?” one of them asked, sounding worried.

“Yeah, it’s true. But don’t worry, we’ll stay in touch,” she reassured them.

They sighed in relief. “We’ll miss you, Seraphina.”

“I’ll miss you too. But this is a good opportunity for me,” she said, feeling a mix of excitement and apprehension.

After three days, her dad came back home from his business trip. The head of the maids welcomed him as soon as he got down from a brand new Land Rover.

“Welcome, sir,” the maid greeted him.

“Thank you. Are my wife and daughter in?” he asked.

“Madam is in, but your daughter is not at home,” she replied.

Mr. Sterling entered the house and was welcomed by his wife, who was watching her favorite movie on the television.

“Welcome, darling. I missed you so much,” she said, hugging him.

“You always miss me when I go on a business trip. Anyway, I missed you more,” he said, planting a kiss on her forehead.

He asked her about Seraphina's whereabouts. Mrs Vanessa told him that she had gone out with my friends. She suggested he go upstairs and freshen up, as she had cooked his favorite food for him.

Seraphina and her friends went out to shop and had fun just to spend some time together because they will not meet in school again.

She told her friends that she will spend three days with them.

“But you said you’d spend a week with us here,” Stephanie, one of her friends, said.

“I’m sorry, but I need to prepare for my new school as soon as possible” she explained. However, she will be coming there often to spend some more time with them so they should not worry.

After three days, Seraphina got prepared and told her friends that she was leaving. She went out of the house, thinking she had a ride home, but forgot that she didn’t have a car.

“Stephanie! I forgot that I don’t even have a car. Can you guys drive me home? This is why I’ve been telling my mom that a princess like me can’t always be trekking,” she called Stephanie and asked her to drive her home.

They entered Stephanie’s car and drove off to her house. They got out of the car, and Sera hugged her friends. She told them that she would miss them but assured them she would visit often.

She entered the house and saw her dad sitting in the hall.

She hugged him,“Dad, I missed you so much.”

“My baby girl, I missed you too. I heard that you went to visit your friends. Are they doing well?”

“Baby girl? Dad I told you that I'm not your small girl anymore, please stop calling me “ baby girl”. Anyways my friends are fine and they extended their greetings to you.”

“Where’s the maid? Didn’t I tell her to come for my things anytime she hears that I’m back? Maid! What’s wrong with you? The next time you try this with me again, you’ll receive a dirty slap from me,” she yelled at the maid.

“I’m sorry, madam. I didn’t see you coming,” the maid said, taking her luggage to her room.

She sat beside her dad and asked how his trip was. He told him that, as usual, the company won the best company in the country, and he was very glad they were getting international recognition too.

“Seraphina, your mother tells me you want a new car,” her dad continued.

“Yes, Dad. I need it to go to my new school,” she replied, trying to sound as persuasive as possible.

He smiled, “Well, I have a surprise for you. Come outside.”

Her heart raced as they walked to the driveway. There, parked in all its glory, was a sleek, shiny new car. It was everything she had dreamed of.

“Thank you, Dad! It’s perfect!” she exclaimed, hugging him again.

“You’re welcome, my dear. But remember, with great privilege comes great responsibility. I expect you to excel in your new school and make us proud,” he said, his tone serious.

“I will, Dad. I promise,” she assured him.
