My alarm rang and I stopped it immediately. I had been awake for hours because I couldn't sleep well.

I didn't have the will to leave my bed nor did I want to go to work.

Don't get me wrong, I loved my job. I really did but the week had consisted of other employees talking behind my back, and for the ones who were brave enough, they talked when I was present.

It was maddening.

When I came home on Monday, I'd told Jules all about it and she had told me to ignore them. If only it was that easy.

I wished I was able to block out their words. I wish I didn't take every little comment to heart.

"Is this another day where I have to drag you out of bed so you won't make your boss mad by going late to work?"

I groaned when I heard Jules' voice and pulled the comforter over my head. Jules was not a morning person but there she was, waking up early to make sure I got out of bed early.
