Mariana's eyes widened when she felt his big, strong arms lifting her off the ground in a bridal style.

The three women's eyes widened in shock and disbelief. They were speechless.

"I can walk, Marcello. Please–" She tried to protest in a whisper but he cut her off with a glare.

"Be quiet." He told her. "We need to get you home."

She looked up at him, eyes still wide, trying to process what was going on between them, his care and everything. Was this the same man from a few days ago?

And—

Oh, God, why must she be feeling like this?

She likes the way his broad arms carry her. He truly stood up for her and showed concern for her; else, he wouldn't be taking such action. He was aware that showing her this much concern in front of his people might be interpreted as a display of weakness, yet he nevertheless did it.

Her gaze still on his face as he carried her out of the restaurant.

She realised that home wasn't a place. It was here, safe in his arms.
