NEXT DAY....
If anyone had told me that just a day after breaking up with my fiance, no just a day after my fiance dumped me for my stepsister I would be getting married to a stranger, I would never have believed that but after hearing Avery confess to being responsible for my mother's death and also threaten to kill my grandfather if I turned down the marriage proposal I knew I didn't have a choice.
Once I had seen the sun peek through the window, I had to make up my mind to stop sulking and take my life into my hands even though it was hard to come to terms with the fact that crying wasn't going to change a damn thing.
Shortly after Avery left my room yesterday, Oliver came in and told him that I was going to get married today and he laughed really hard thinking it was a joke. He tried to make me rethink but I told him that I was serious and that my mind was made up.
He asked me a lot of questions as to why I wanted to do this, and even asked if his mom was the reason but I simply told him that I was doing it because I wanted to. He said he was going to tell our grandpa about my decision but I pleaded with him not to and he reluctantly agreed. My grandpa didn't need to know about this, at least not now else he was going to freak out or probably have a heart attack, and that was the last thing I wanted. Even though I never liked that Grandpa lived in a different house, now I was grateful else he would have stopped me from getting married and it would cost his life.
"It's not too late to change your mind." Oliver sighed coming to sit beside me. He had come into my room minutes ago but he didn't say anything to me, he just kept staring at me while I did my best to avoid his gaze.

I opened my mouth to give him an answer but my door flew open revealing Avery.
"Your groom is here." She smiled but her brows creased and her smile was soon replaced with scorn when her eyes roamed my body.
"You didn't wear the wedding dress? That was my gift to you."
Avery had gotten me a dress to wear, but I refused to wear it. I just couldn't give her that satisfaction, so I opted for a black coloured gown, it was a sad day for me and the colour of my gown complimented it.
She took a deep breath and exhaled then she shrugged. " Whatever..."
"Just come downstairs." And with that, she was out of sight.
I walked out of the room leaving Oliver in it after Avery left and headed downstairs.
When I walked into the living room after descending the stairs, I looked around hoping to see my dad but he was nowhere. I thought that he was at least going to watch me go away, shoving the thoughts away I reminded myself that I expected too much from a man like him. A man who didn't give a shit about me. I didn't even care about Mireya's absence since I knew she was only going to ridicule me.
"Your Dad is yet to return," Avery muttered faking a smile as if she read my thoughts.
I just gave her a look that said I figured that out already before averting my gaze to the two men who I hadn't taken notice of earlier.
One of the men was seated in a wheelchair and wearing a silver mask, only his sea-blue cold eyes, and pink lips were visible the remaining parts of his face were covered, I needed no confirmation to know that he was the groom. Oliver had looked him up yesterday after I told him about the marriage and we found out that Tyrell was disabled and a scarred face after he got into an accodent, not only that his family were once the wealthiest in the country but they had gone bankrupt.
The other man was standing, both of them were dressed casually but the man in the wheelchair emanated some kind of intimidating aura I couldn't fathom as his sea blue eyes met my green ones and I quickly looked away laughing at myself mentally. How could a man stuck in a wheelchair be intimidating?
The man who was standing didn't waste any time before he started talking after which he took out a file from the bag he was holding, placed it on the table in front of the man in the wheelchair, and then handed him a pen. After the man was done signing, he swirled the file to me and placed the pen in front of me without saying a word. I didn't even bother to read the contract, I just signed it. What was the need to go through it when I was still going to have to marry him anyways?
"Congratulations Penelope Tyrell Achilles." The man mumbled picking up the file and putting it back into the bag. Avery clapped grinning from ear to ear and I decided to ignore her. Fury coursed through my veins as I fixed my eyes on her, I was trying so hard to control my temper else I was going to do something I was going to regret.
Taking a deep breath, I reminded myself that I had a plan which was to get my revenge but for now, I was going to let her think that she had won. I knew bubbles of joy soared in her chest in victory of getting rid of me but she didn't know that just like my surname had changed, I was going to be a dangerous version of myself like no one had ever seen.
I didn't say a word I shifted my eyes from Avery and stared at the man who was standing, he gave me a small smile before he started to speak again.
"We should get going, everyone would be waiting."
Everyone? Who were the people he was talking about? Probably my new in-laws. I could only wait and see.
"Pennie." I turned around and saw Oliver with my suitcase. I smiled at him, I almost forgot my suitcase.
I wrapped my arms around him and didn't even realise that I was crying until I felt the warm liquid rolling down my face. We hugged each other none of us willing to let go until I took a step and pulled away.
Avery waved at me as I walked out of the door and didn't wave back acting like I didn't see her. Oliver strolled all the way with me to the car. The other man helped Tyrell get into the car and put the wheelchair and my suitcase in before shifting his attention to me.
"We have to go," he uttered opening the back seat car's door, and I nodded. I hugged Oliver for the last time wiped the tears on his face and said goodbye to him after which I got into the car.
The man got behind the wheels and started the car before zooming off. I glanced backward till I could no longer see Oliver. Letting out a long sigh, I averted my gaze and leaned my head on the headrest and allowed my thoughts take over. This wasn't the way I thought I would get married, It felt like a nightmare. I just got married to a man I was seeing for the first time.
"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday to you," we started to sing the moment after Tyrell stepped into the room and we turned on the lights. A gigantic grin spread across his face as he listened to us sing the birthday song. "Happy birthday, baby. I love you." "I love you, babe," he smiled, leaning over for a kiss. "Happy birthday Daddy," Jason and Jasmine wished him. The rest of the family members wished Tyrell and we gave him our birthday presents. "Happy birthday, Tyrell." Inez wished him. I smiled, peering at Inez. Yes, she was here with us. She finished her studies two years ago, and she returned to the country. Blaze was still single; he told us he was going to wait for Inez no matter how long it was going to take. It was crazy but it was love. The spark was still there even after years; they started dating, and after a year, they got married. It had been four years since she left the country for her study. Inez was p
Penelope "Why do you find love matters funny? You had the same reaction when Layla and Ian told you about their marriage plans." I frowned seeing how heartily he was laughing. "I'm sorry for laughing but it's funny. Ace has feelings for Marie? Don't tell me you believe him?" "Of course I do, he sounded very serious." Tyrell scoffed," You might not know if, but Ace is a big-time playboy. You should warn Marie not to fall for his tricks.""Come on Ty. You yourself said Ace is changed. Why say all this about him now? He deserves a chance, doesn't he? He told me Marie thinks he is a jerk." A smile spread across Tyrell's face and he gave a tight nod the second I said Marie thinks Ace is a jerk. "Her thought is right. You should have warned him to stay away from Marie." Tyrell stated. "Ty, don't be like that Ty. The least you can do is be supportive.""I would have been supportive if I didn't know the kind of man Ace is." "I think his feelings are genuine Tyrell." "You think so?"
Penelope "Did I say something funny?" Ian's face crinkled in confusion as he watched Tyrell laugh heartily.I gawked at Tyrell, and he pressed his lips together in a bid to stop laughing, but it didn't help as he burst out laughing once again. He was probably thinking that Ian was joking about what he said. "Tyrell Ian is being serious, this isn't a joking matter. He proposed to me yesterday." Layla's mumbled raising her left hand to show the ring on it. Tyrell's eyebrows shot up, forming a high arch of astonishment," You both are serious?" "They are serious?" He glanced at me and I nodded. "They are serious." "Of course they are.""Wait, when did two even start dating that you want to get married?" Tyrell questioned his glances darting from Layla to Ian. "We started dating six months ago," Ian mumbled. "And you both didn't bother to tell us?" Tyrell murmured. "We should be happy for them, babe," I chipped in calmly,, shrugging my shoulder,s, and Tyrell sighed. "It's kind o
Penelope "Adrian was about to hit Penelope," Blaze told Tyrell. "What!" Tyrell's face contorted in anger and a frown took over his face. He went over to Blaze and pulled him away from Adrian who was begging to be spared. "Thank you. I...." Adrian didn't get to finish his statement because Tyrell bent over, smacked him on the face and then he grabbed him by the collar and pulled him up. Tyrell punched him in the face and kicked him; Adrian tried to free himself but didn't succeed; he then tried to retaliate but once again failed as Tyrell's pace wasn't something he could keep up with. "I'm sorry," Adrian apologised, clasping his hands together, but Tyrell was having none of it; he was furious and out of control. "Ty, that's enough. You are going to kill him." I let out. "I would love that. How dare he think that he could lay his hands on you? After what he did, he had no fear of coming here, did he? He should deal with whatever he gets.""He deserves it, but you are not a murdere
" I'm worried about Inez, she hasn't said a word ever since the doctor broke the news to her." "I am too, babe," Tyrell sighed, running his hands through his hair. We went over to Inez's place, and she had lost consciousness. By the time we got there, she was lying in a pool of blood. She was rushed to the hospital, but her husband wasn't home; I didn't know how, but Tyrell had his contact; he called him up, but Adrian wasn't picking up; when Tyrell tried calling him again, his phone was switched off. I and Tyrell spent the night at the hospital; Inez was operated upon and moved to a private ward; she didn't regain consciousness until the next morning. The first thing that left Inez's mouth after she regained consciousness was, 'Where is Adrian?'Tears were rolling down Inez's cheeks, and her lips were trembling; she was staring into empty space. "Inez, it's going to be okay. Please stop crying," I mumbled, draping my arms around her and hugging her. She sobbed and I patted her bac
Penelope "Baby, are you okay? You seem distorted ever since Inez and her husband left." I forced a smile on my face and nodded my head. "I'm fine."How could I tell Tyrell that when I went after Inez after she followed Adrian, I saw him yelling at her, and then he raised his hand to hit her when she told him to stop yelling at her? He was shocked to see me that he said sorry to me but I was too stunned to say anything to him. He turned to Inez, said sorry and then embraced her and then kissed her before excusing himself and going back to the dining. I stared at Inez after her husband was gone, waiting for her to say something, but she said nothing, so I decided to speak up first. "Was he going to hit you?" I questioned, peering at her, but she chuckled. "No, it isn't what it seemed like. He was just... He was just..." She stammered, trying to come up with an excuse for him, but even she failed to find none. "He was just... Are you really trying to come up with an excuse for him
