SARAH PIERCE

I looked away from Nathaniel. “Who her father is… is none of your business.”

“Can you see, Mr. Storm?” My father pointed at me. “She cannot answer. She has always been a wh*r*. When she left home, she was always sneaking around with a man, I am certain was a criminal. You cannot marry her.”

I almost laughed. The supposed criminal I was sneaking around with was Nathaniel Storm.

“Exactly, Nathaniel!” My sister added. “She is used up. You don't deserve her.”

“Mr. Pierce. Miss Rosaline.” Nathaniel got up. “I apologise for the abrupt change in plans. But my mind is made up. I will get married to your sister. The wedding plans will proceed without interruption.”

“This is b*llsh*t! Your father will hear of this!” My father stormed out. As my sister raced after him, her loud cries overpowered his angry words.

“Miss?” Nathaniel called, and I was tempted to slap his head for his continuous pretence.

“Stop this silliness, Nathaniel,” I warned when I stepped closer.

He looked down at me. “Excuse me?”

“Don't give me that sh*t, Nathaniel. Call me by my name. You know my name.”

“Are we close enough for you to call me by my first name?” he demanded.

And I frowned. Nathaniel was never good at hiding his emotions, but right now, he is doing a good job of acting oblivious to the existence of our past relationship.

“What is your deal?” I asked.

His dark eyes narrowed. “I do not know what you are talking about. Anyway,” the tight lines on his face loosened, “we have agreed to get married. You can not change your mind.”

I see he is determined to take his pretence all the way. What a prick.

My arms folded while my heart ached with anger. And I asked, “Why did you say yes? You have obviously chosen to act like you don't know me.”

“I am not acting.” His sharp gaze continued to focus on me, and no matter how I glared, I was yet to see a glint of lie in his eyes. “I do not know you.”

“Or you have gotten too good at lying.” I looked away and muttered, “This is crazy.”

“Are you going to remain here?” His voice pierced my chaotic thoughts.

I watched as he looked around the room and replied, “This is my father's house. Where else will I stay?”

He nodded curtly. “We will get married next week. I do not feel good about leaving you and your daughter here.”

“Don't think too highly of yourself. You are not a knight in shining armour. You are just -”

“Sarah Pierce.” Without warning, his towering height stepped closer, and his chest almost touched my head. “Why are you doing this?”

I looked away from our close eye contact. “Why should I answer that?”

His breath rustled my hair, and it took a lot to stop myself from head-butting him.

“Is revenge your reason?” he asked.

“What if it is?”

“Then, this will be interesting.” He stepped back before my anger could turn into something worse.

“Huh?”

“Goodbye, Sarah Pierce.”

As I watched him leave, I was suddenly reminded of the last day I saw him years ago. Somehow, it felt as though what happened after that day would repeat itself. But I could not move to hold him back.

I stayed still even after I heard the front door close.

Seconds later, the thought of Raya being hungry caused me to head inside.

“How dare you, Sarah?” Rosaline’s deep voice almost startled me before I reached Raya. Her fury was not hidden, so I maintained a distance. “How dare you come back to snatch my man? What gives you the right, you f*ck*ng b*tch?”

“I am not going to explain myself to you.”

She laughed wickedly. “Can you still say that when I take away the only thing you have?”

That statement only meant one thing, and as Rosaline intended, I was triggered by it. “What? Repeat that nonsense,” I said furiously.

“I am talking about your little b*st*rd. Do you think-”

“Rosaline.” I moved forward with fire in my eyes, and I watched as her boastfulness failed. “If you call my Raya a b*st*rd… If you do as much as lay your filthy, extra-dry hands on my daughter…” She hit the wall, and my gaze drilled into her as much as I desired. “Rosaline Pierce. The day you dare go after my daughter, I will make sure you lose everything that makes you human.”

“How dare you f*ck*ng open that dirty mouth to threaten my daughter?” My father walked in. “Are you out of your freaking mind?”

I did not back down. My finger pointed at him in warning. “Tell her to watch her words. Warn her not to threaten my daughter. If either of you tries it, I will make you pay.” My fury grew so much that my ponytail loosened. “Raya is not me. You stupid folks can mess with me as much as you want. Beat me up if you wish. But!” I feasted on the shock on their faces. “If you touch my daughter, you will cry blood.”

“Ha,” my father gasped. “This brat! Insolent! Just rude!” He eyed me. “That deadbeat area you are coming from must have loosened a few screws in your head. You should have never left.”

“Oh!” I laughed to hide the ache constricting my chest. “So you know where I have been?”

“Why would I concern myself with you? You have been nothing but a disgrace.”

“Say what you will.” My lips eased into a smile, I hid my inner turmoil well. “Nathaniel Storm will become my husband. This ‘disgraceful’ child you hate so much will live the best life ever. My daughter will live a great life, and there is nothing you two can do about it.”

I stormed out before anything could leave their mouths. And I locked the door to my room once I entered.

Suddenly, shuddering exhales left me as my back leaned against the door. My eyes focused on Raya, who was frowning at me. I slid to the ground, and like that, the turbulence in my soul turned to tears.

“Mummy?” Raya gently called after a few careful steps closer.

“Raya.” My tears failed to cease. “I… am… f-f-f-fine.” My sniffles made it hard to be audible. “Mummy is fine.” I just could not stop myself from wailing.

She closed the gap left between us and sat on my lap. “Mummy?” The subtlety in her tiny voice told me she recognised my pain and wished to know the cause.

And d*mn right that worsened my crying.

“My baby,” I cooed as I pulled her into a hug while the innermost part of my soul kept digging up the pains of the past and present to add to my unceasing wails. “Come here, my Raya.” I hugged her tighter as the coconut scent of her hair filled my senses. “Mummy loves you so, so much. Ohhh… my baby.”

“I lauv mummy too.”

I moaned with great delight, and her beautiful response added to the reasons for my tears.

As I held her dearly like the cutest treasure she was, I cried my heart out while silently promising myself that I would never again shed tears in front of Raya.

  • Contract With The Ex That Left Me   The vows were always there

SARAH PIERCELike the gentle breeze playing with my veil, the days drifted by until our wedding finally arrived.I now fully understand why Nathaniel suggested we have another ceremony. Contrary to the first one, where I had twisted resentment towards Nathaniel and my family, I am at ease. And the joy dancing through me feels like enough fuel to always be happy for the rest of my life. Even as I walk down the flower-decorated aisle with Amir by my side, I remain calm, and my eyes are mostly focused on Nathaniel, whose dark blue three-piece suit gallantly presented him in one of the most handsome versions of himself. Whenever our eyes met, as though speaking through an unseen medium, we'd burst into laughter that filled the grand shed, which was specifically and elaborately reconstructed for our wedding. The few times I looked away from Thaniel, I was waving to my beautiful Raya and subtly greeting our guests. Of course, there weren't a lot of people, but their presence spoke volum

SARAH PIERCE“Uh…”Nathaniel’s hesitation was clear. So, I lifted my head and said, “We were bound to talk about it sooner or later, Nathaniel.”“I know, but-”“I know I can never forget what he did to me. I doubt I can forgive it either. However, I am still healing and as much as possible, I want my healing to be super firm. Maybe talking about it will help me.”“But there’s nothing much I wish to say about that, my love.”“I wish I had questioned his identity when he pretended to be you in the hospital.” The air turned heavy as I sat up. Nathaniel did the same seconds later. “That was what I often thought while I was in the hospital.”“You didn’t know, Sarah.”“Exactly. I can’t blame myself for what happened. Learning that I shouldn’t blame myself took a while, Nathaniel. But I’m glad it didn’t take longer.” My hands rested in his, and I smiled. “When I remember how he took Rosaline’s life, or even any of the crazy stuff he did, I blame myself less. Then, I feel sorry for you.”“Huh

  • Contract With The Ex That Left Me   Sparkles

SARAH PIERCEBefore Nathaniel’s return from grocery shopping, I had been contemplating the right time to address my raging need to satisfy the intimate appetite we had been trying to hide. I knew he wasn’t suggesting anything out of respect for my pain and healing process, however, today I just couldn’t take it anymore. Once Raya was asleep and I heard him enter his room, I swooped in and amazingly, when he showed up before me, he was dressed in only a towel, making things easier. I am so glad I did not hold back. And I’m happy Thaniel didn’t hold back either. As we lay side by side, trying to catch our breaths, I could still feel the tingle of his cock, and my walls clenched with the need to start another round of the amazing sex we just had. But I ignored that need and turned to him, my sweaty body gumming to his, his eyes focusing on me while one of his arms circled my waist. “We should have used protection,” he whispered, his lips leaning to my shoulder to caress it with a lo

NATHANIEL STORM“Will Raya be fine on her own?”She pointed to a white flat object on my drawer. “Baby monitor. She’s still sleeping from the sound of it.” Her fingers thrilled the back of my head. “I also locked your door.”“Amazing,” I beamed, but didn’t resume the kiss. Instead, my lips got busy with another part of her skin. Within seconds, I was kissing every inch of her arms, my ears enjoying the sound of her low laughter as those spots were her tickle spots. When I decided I had humoured her enough, I moved to the most pivotal point of her arousal. My body flowing with ease, I picked up the ends of her gown with my lips. In the process of pulling the garment upwards, I made sure my lips grazed her thighs. After pulling the cloth on one end and punctuating it with a kiss, I went to the other end and did the same thing. By the time I reached her breasts, her hands were already pulling at my hair. And her body was writhing so pleasantly, her lips were only able to gasp in dem

  • Contract With The Ex That Left Me   The gift of Sarah and Raya

One week later…NATHANIEL STORM‘I can’t shake the feeling that you might end up meeting him,’ Amir voiced from the other end of the call I was receiving through my earpods.“I stand by my word,” I replied, opened the car door and pulled out the grocery bags from the back seat.‘You don’t have questions for him?’ he pushed.“Don’t you have a hospital visit today, Amir? Or are you hungry for work already?” I dropped that little warning to stop him from delving into the inner part of my soul I’ve been trying to sort out for a while now. “Don’t be too nosy. My decision is final.”‘Alright.’ With a sigh, he gave up trying to figure out if I’d ever want to meet my twin brother, whose trial has been shaking up the entire country. While Sarah’s identity in the case has been concealed, people were quick to connect the dots. After all, that man has the same facial appearance as I do.Though the usual heat of gossip and rumours has barely affected Sarah and me, I’ve been seeing signs of nosine

  • Contract With The Ex That Left Me   Home

SARAH PIERCEAfter a month, I was transferred to St. Thompson Hospital in Lanville city. Contrary to my desire to return home with Nathaniel and Raya, the psychiatrists in St. Thompson decided it would be best if I were an inpatient because my charts sent by the previous hospital weren’t looking good. I spent two more months there, breathing in hospital air day in and day out. So, I can tell you for a fact that the past twelve weeks have been shit. I’ve had to fight a crazy, and I mean, crazy level of terror. Some days, after pushing through nightmares of that man’s sickening face, I’d wake up with twisting pain in my stomach. The first time that happened, the doctors thought something was physically wrong. But it wasn’t physical at all. It was my mind and body reminding me of the pain I felt when hunger and thirst got the best of me in that smelly, smelly prison. There were also days I kept perceiving the strong reek of urine on my body. I’d find myself rushing into the bathroo
