Enter the Dark Lord

Charde’s POV

The entire Gray Mist pack was gathered before the execution ground, cheering and waiting for the culprit who murdered their former Alpha to show up.

Soon, the guards I had sent to the dungeon showed up, dragging Sabrina along with them. The noise from the crowd increased on seeing her. They just couldn't wait for her head to be chopped off and thrown for them to battle for whom to hang it on the stake.

I raised my hand and the upstir within the crowd died out.

I cleared my throat softly and shouted, "Do I need to introduce this woman to you all?"

"No!" The crowd roared.

"Then I'm pretty sure everyone here knows her and the crime she has commited," I said.

"Yes!" The echoed.

"And so, I'll get down to it," I said.

My heart boiled with anger as I remembered how she had trapped me in bed with her while my father died in his room. She needed to die! The late Alpha's spirit wouldn't be pleased until she was dead.

"Raise your blade!" I yelled at the execution.

"On my count! One!"

I could see Sabrina's legs incessantly quaking as she peed on herself. Yes, she needed to know how exactly my father felt when he was dying. Yes!

"Two!"

She struggled more, but her efforts were all in vain. Not even I could break out of the restraints she wore.

"Thr—"

I paused. A sudden feeling of dread filled the air. My eyes went wide with shock and I turned around and looked at my uncle. I was pretty sure he must have felt that too, since he was also part of our family's Alpha bloodline.

Elder Richard, with his hands behind his back as he stood, called me through the mind-link, "evacuate the pack members."

The danger at hand was the dark lord. A tyrant who went from pack to pack, defeating them and taking female hostages to breed for him.

The execution ground faced the entrance gate directly, and I could sense the dark lord's presence as he stood at the entrance gate.

I took a sword and stood up from my seat, then I began to descend the stairs.

The crowd made a way for me to walk through them, and once they did, the dark lord came into view.

He wore a black robe which had a hood that covered his face.

I began to approach him. As I walked, I swung my sword and shouted.

"You may be thinking that the rumors about you have injected fear into every other pack. Well, I'm sorry, you've stepped into the wrong pack!"

"Don't be in such a haste to lay your life to waste, boy," he said. His voice blew through the wind like a cold whisper, "I've crushed Alphas ten times stronger than you. My strength is known through every pack. Even the Imperial Alpha, your so-called savior, runs from me in his nightmares."

I snarled, raising my blade above my shoulder, "I'll teach you that I don't look up to any savior."

A brief chuckled fled his lips as he said, "From your grip of that silver sword, coated with copper, I can tell your first six swings, and none of them will land a hit on me. I'm convinced you too can see it, Alpha Charde…"

The dark lord moved his feet forward and, in the blink of an eye, appeared right before my face.

With my quick reflex, I swung my blade, but he caught it and, to my surprise, by the tip.

"...the difference in our power," he muttered with a smile that seemed to satisfy his ego.

A bead of sweat trickled down my side burns. That moment I swung my blade had left me wide open. It was his opportunity to kill me but he didn't. The battle should have been over, unless he didn't come for war.

I furrowed my brows and snarled, "Why are you here?"

"A peace talk," he said, "a harmless little negotiation."

"Spill it."

He let go of my blade and I shoved it back into my scabbard. Then, he pointed at Sabrina, "I want her."

My brow rose, "For what?"

"To be my breeder," he answered.

"No," I refused, "she's a subject of execution and must be slayed right here, on this ground."

"For the peace of your region, Alpha Charde. This is a negotiation. I won't attack this region for the next ten years," the dark lord said.

My eyes went wider, "You can't be serious."

"I'm a man of my words. I'll sign with my own blood. Swear on my own life," he persuaded.

At this, I became worried. It felt so strange that he risked coming to my pack all alone just to ask to take Sabrina, a mere useless omega who had nothing to offer but her body, as his breeder.

"What's so special about her that you're willing to do all these?" I demanded.

A sigh left his mouth and he lowered his head.

With a soft exhale, he said, "I have taken every kind of woman in to breed for me, but never have I a red hair."

The moment he said this, I paused, for a few seconds, trying to recollect everything we had just discussed. This man wasn't joking about this at all.

I bursted into laughter. I laughed so hard that my lungs began to hurt. It was ridiculous to think that something good would come out of the useless girl who couldn't save herself five years ago? She was the reason my wolf had been in hibernation for five years.

"So, her red hair is the reason you're taking her?" I continued laughing, "fine. It's a deal, and I hope you won't regret it. I'll prepare the documents for the contract. It will be signed tomorrow and then you can have her. Forever."

"I'll need her with no further scars than she already has," the dark lord added.

"No problems at all," I chuckled.

I turned around and headed back to my seat, still unable to stop laughing, and the dark lord soon left my pack.

I called off Sabrina's execution and sent her back to the dungeon.

The next morning, the dark lord arrived at my pack with three guards and a golden carriage drawn by two black stallions.

Sabrina had been arranged for him. She had taken her bath and dressed up in a clean white gown which I'd given her.

"You can't do this to me, Charde," she pleased at the upper balcony, where we watched as the dark lord descended his carriage.

I felt the urge to give her a dirty slap, but I held it back as I remembered the dark lord's instructions.

"You should be thankful that you're going to become his object of pleasure. Your life should have ended yesterday," I reminded her, "now, behave before I unleash my wrath on you."

I headed downstairs and met the dark lord at the courtyard. The terms of the contract was read before us and then, signed by both of us by blood.

After handing Sabrina over to the dark lord, I went up to my room and watched from the window as they departed from my pack.

The moment they crossed the gate, a sharp pain struck my stomach and I slumped on the floor and gripped my belly hard. A biting pain struck all over my belly. I rolled from side to side, trying to subdue it, but it worsened the more I tried. Some my eyes became hazzy and my mind went blank. I couldn't feel the pain again, but I couldn't also feel where I was again.
