CHAPTER NINETEEN: APOLOGY

"Hey there, Bluey." Louis passed a few grains into the bird cage, watching the little parakeet hop down from its perch to eat.

He'd named it Bluey because he wasn't creative and the bird was blue.

Then he sat on the chair by the window, and the black card in his pocket felt like it was burning through his skin.

Matteo Riva's number. Gold lettering. No name, just digits and that same symbol he'd seen on the card at the gala.

He couldn't let Lorenzo find this.

  • Contracted: The Billionaire’s Husband From The Commercial   KINDNESS TAKEN.

CHAPTER EIGHTY TWO: KINDNESS TAKEN. "Another letter, is it?", Louis forced a smile at the housekeeper, his voice light, practiced. She handed him the envelope with a sympathetic look…the same look everyone had been giving him lately. Pity…fear…concern. He took it and walked to his room, closing the door behind him.He added it to the pile. The letters were stacking up now, a tower of obsession on his nightstand. He had read most of them once…just enough to know how disturbing they were. He couldn't bring himself to read them again. He picked one up, scanning the familiar handwriting."I hate that the whole world gets to see your beauty. When you're finally mine, that won't happen anymore.”“No one else will ever look at you. No one else will ever touch you. I'll keep you safe, Louis. I'll keep you for myself."Another:"You don't know how many nights I've watched you. How many hours I've spent thinking about you. You're the only thing that makes sense in this world

  • Contracted: The Billionaire’s Husband From The Commercial   OBSESSED

CHAPTER SEVENTY NINE: OBSESSED Matt pulled the car to a sharp stop in front of the house. He got out, yanked open the passenger door, and grabbed William by the arm, pulling him out so aggressively that William stumbled. Matt dragged him to the front door, shoved him inside, and slammed it shut behind them. "You really are stupid." Matt's voice was low, dangerous. "Did I not say you should never come looking for me?" William straightened his jacket, unbothered. "I kept my distance. I sent flowers and chocolate instead of bringing them myself. I just wanted to see you. Since you want to avoid us being together." He paused. "I miss you, Matt." Matt stared at him. "You don't understand. I would only use you.", "I don't care." William stepped closer. "I like you a lot." "That's enough." Matt turned away, grabbing a bottle and gulping down the liquid. The burn did nothing to ease the ache in his chest. This kid had no idea what he was getting into. No idea how dangerous Matt

  • Contracted: The Billionaire’s Husband From The Commercial   STAY AWAY

CHAPTER SEVENTY EIGHT: STAY AWAY It was morning, the sunlight coming through the window into the room. William rolled from side to side, his eyes fluttering open to a ceiling he didn't recognize. The room was unfamiliar…soft lighting, minimalist decor, the kind of expensive simplicity that screamed money. Was this a hotel? Or Matt's house? The memories of last night came crashing back. He kissed Matt. He kissed Matt. William's face flushed, and he pulled the sheets up to his chin. "If you're already awake, I think you should get out of the bed, kid." William's head snapped toward the voice. Matt stood by the dresser, dressed in comfortable wear…a loose shirt, relaxed-fit pants, his hair slightly disheveled. He looked like he had just woken up, and William hated how good he looked. "What were you thinking?" Matt asked, his voice flat. "Getting that drunk." William smiled, propping himself up on his elbows. "Did we sleep together?" Matt laughed…a short, incredulous sound. "Y

  • Contracted: The Billionaire’s Husband From The Commercial   MORE THAN HE CAN CHEW

CHAPTER SEVENTY SEVEN: MORE THAN HE CAN CHEW Birds chirped outside the window, their songs drifting through the open curtains. Sunlight spilled across the soft white sheets, warming the room in golden patches. It was the kind of morning that felt like a gift. Louis rolled onto his side, reaching for Lorenzo. The bed was empty. He opened his eyes, blinking against the light. He sat up, tied the sash of his robe, and called out, "Lorenzo?" Silence. He wandered from room to room, his bare feet padding against the cool marble. The house was quiet, but not empty…he could feel it. He went downstairs. That's when he saw them. Roses. Hundreds of them. Arranged in massive bouquets that filled the living room like a garden had exploded inside. Birkins bags lined the sofa in a neat row. Shoeboxes stacked in a pyramid. Keys to a car he didn't recognize, gleaming on the coffee table. There was even a small briefcase, slightly open, revealing stacks of cash. Louis froze. "What are

CHAPTER SEVENTY SIX: NOT FROM MY WORLD BUT THE STAR. "I'll be back quick. Just a minute." William flashed a grin at Louis's assistant and slipped out of the studio before anyone could stop him. The air outside was cool, the city buzzing around him. He needed coffee. He needed to move. He needed to stop thinking about the stranger with tired eyes and a scar on his hand. He spotted the cafe across the street and was halfway there when he saw him. The same man. The same dark hair and same jacket. He was walking toward the cafe, his head down, his hands in his pockets. William's heart did something stupid. He veered toward the cafe, quickening his pace. He pushed through the door just as the man reached the counter. Okay. Act natural. William pretended to be looking at the menu, then "accidentally" stepped back…right into the man's space. "Oh..I'm so sorry…" He turned, his eyes widening with exaggerated surprise. "We meet again." The man’s expression didn't change. "It's alr

CHAPTER SEVENTY FIVE: CRASHING SECRETS The door swung open and slammed back against the wall. Louis looked down from the upstairs railing, a smirk already forming on his lips. "There's no need to run in, Lorenzo." Lorenzo's eyes scanned the room, his chest heaving. "Where is he? I'm sorry for this. I didn't know he would…" "Don't worry." Louis descended the stairs slowly. "He's still asleep." Lorenzo exhaled, his shoulders relaxing slightly. Then his jaw tightened. "I'm putting that kid on a plane. Tonight." He crossed to Louis and pulled him into a quick, tight hug…a silent thank you, an apology, a reassurance all in one. Then he pulled back, his eyes already scanning for William. As if on cue, William emerged from the hallway, his hair roughened, his clothes wrinkled from sleep. He blinked against the light, still half-asleep. Lorenzo moved fast. He grabbed William by the collar and dragged him toward the door. "You are going back. I'm calling your parents." "No, no, no
