Chapter 8: Two Encounters in One Night

“Surprised to see you here drunk,” the voice said, and I looked up to see it was Martin, my ex-boyfriend.

“Hi, and I’m not drunk,” I said, trying to hide the obvious truth.

“What are you doing here anyway?" He asked, leading me back inside.

“My sister got sick, and I’m in dire need of money for her surgery. It’s depressing because she might die if we don’t get the money from now until the weekend.” I sighed sadly. I knew this was a lie, but there was no way I was telling him what my dad did.

“Wow, that’s very sad; I didn’t even know you had a sister. So how much are we talking about here?” He asked, and my eyes lit up. Was it possible he could be of help? We weren’t together for too long, but I knew for a fact he was from a well-to-do family.

“Five hundred thousand dollars," I replied, feeling more tired and weak as the alcohol began to take effect.

“What?????” That’s a whole lot for just surgery. What is truly wrong with her?” He asked, and I baited my eyelashes tongue-tied.

“You know what? Maybe I could be of help.” He said.

“Really??” I asked as my eyes shone with hope.

“Yes, but you’ll have to do something for me in exchange. You will have to become my sex slave for a year.” He said, and I felt the blood in my body dry up.

“What?” I asked to be sure of what I had just heard.

“Yes, common, that’s a little task for such a huge amount. Besides, you’ll enjoy it and still be able to save your sister's life. And also I’ll treat you well enough. You know I didn’t have the chance to taste that honey pot of yours while we were still dating.” He said, giving me a nasty wink.

“You are such a piece of shit, and I am disgusted by the fact that I even had anything to do with you,” I said, getting ready to leave.

“Just think about my offer while it’s still on the table. You have just two days, my love.” He smirked, irritating me the more.

Even though I was already so intoxicated, I couldn’t stop myself from buying one more shot to stop myself from going mad thinking about the disgusting conversation I just had with that punk. I blame myself for even asking him for help in the first place anyway.

I stood up and hurriedly rushed out, I was close to the door when I suddenly tripped and was almost falling when I felt a pair of strong arms holding my waist.

I looked up, and when our eyes locked, my breathing seized, and I let myself be lost in his ocean-blue eyes. My eyes wandered to his lips, and they looked so moist and inviting, making me gulp down nothing.

“I’m afraid, you’re drooling over me right now, Miss Jade,” Xavier said, and that was when my senses fully returned.

I disengaged from his arms and tried to find my balance. Damn it, what was it with me and bumping into people today?

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to bump into you. What are you doing here?” I asked, scratching my nape.

“This is one of my clubs; what do you mean?” He asked cockily.

What? How many clubs does he have exactly? So this was his also? That means he must be very rich. So what exactly does he need us to pay him his money urgently for? I mean he would have given us some more time.

“I’ll be on my way,” I said and made to move when he blocked me with his arms.

“Not so soon, baby. Do you have my money now?” He asked, and I began coughing.

“Easy easy; I didn’t mean you should start choking; I’m only asking for my money.” He said, and honestly, I was getting too tired of standing here speaking.

“I don’t have it yet, but I’m working towards gathering the money. My father and I just need more time, as 7 days is honestly too short for us.” I replied, hoping he'd have some sort of pity for us.

“Oh no, there’s no giving any extra time. Weekend it is, and it will do you and your father a lot of good to have my money by then.” He said, and I sighed sadly.

“You know, you can erase your father's debt by just agreeing to be my pet for a year. My offer still stands, baby girl.” He said and made to stroke my hair, but I withdrew quickly.

“Like my father told you before, I’ll never agree to be your pet. And I’ll give you back your money by the weekend, so if you don’t mind, excuse me.” I said and went out of the building only to see him following behind me.

“What now?” I asked with folded arms.

“I’m not going to let you go home like this. You’re drunk and could end up in danger.” He said.

“I’m not drunk; I had a sound conversation with you and can take myself home, so no,” I said.

“I wasn’t asking you; I was ordering you to.” He said and opened the car door for me while I just entered inside in defeat like I was being controlled.

We rode in silence, and I could feel him stealing glances at me, but I refused to even look at his side as I just wanted to get home and be in the comfort of my bed.

Soon we got to my house, and he drove off immediately, leaving no room for any further discussions. Such a jerk.

I entered my room and slumped on my bed immediately, too tired to even take my shower. I was about to drift off to Wonderland when an idea suddenly niggled at the back of my head.

Why don’t I run away with my father to somewhere he can’t find us?
